...Having just recently won a competition to spend a night with the PS3 I figured it would be a smart idea to do a personal review of the console which everyone will be talking about (in the UK) in a few weeks to come. Please bear in mind that I have only had a chance to test this baby out for a few hours and so my review will not be as in-depth as you might expect. A Great System from Sony

Advantages: Nice Classy Design, Great Graphics, and a Good Online

Have Sony rolled in the next gen with a bang??

Advantages: Excellent multimedia package ahead of its time
Disadvantages: Backward compatability probs, and some minor glitches

The 360 had a remote (well mine did because I had one of the premium launch packs) which makes navigation easier in some ways, however you can buy an official Sony remote control for a penny short of £20. The PS3 has more flexibility than the 360 since you can link up your PSP, or insert certain memory cards into the integrated card reader. Now the 360 does enable you to link an external device to playback music, but it has only been recently you could actually save the format on the hard drive. Although with the PS3 you can save photos, audio and videos of varying format straight onto the 60 GB hard drive. At the moment I am still getting to grips with what the PS3 can playback in the video stakes but already I know it's a lot more than what the 360 can do, having already transferred my PSP mp4 files...

Advantages: Great Design

...This is a great controller jus like the classic ps1/ps2 the design stayed the same. This is the perfect controller i can not say anything about the slick design. As you may know this controller is wireless so you may use it from newere in the room so no messy wires hanging around. And the batttery lasts very long i dont have to charge it very often but i dont play hours every day either. Only bad this about this controller is that unlike the ps1/ps2 controllers this does not have dual shock so no rumble :(.This is because sony could not get rights for the technology. ...Sony's next generation console was well worth the wait from the Playstation 2. I have owned a PS3 for just over a year now and I have so far had no problems with it and to see the quality of the graphics of any game was incredible, and it was such a step up from the PS2. Although Sony was late in releasing the PS3, it was worth the wait in the end, although I did consider getting an Xbox 360 instead. The Xbox 360 came out much earlier and allowed microsoft the oppurtunity to get more Xbox 360's out there before the PS3 was even out. However there have been many reported problems with the Xbox 360, such as the console freezing, so I thought I best play it safe and instead get the PS3 when I had some money.
