...One of their members, Cheryl Cole is making quite a successful name for herself on the solo market at the moment but it all began for her way back in 2002 with 4 other girls, called Girls Aloud. Love them or hate them, they have been around for quite a while now. Girls Aloud are a band, created on the television series Popstars: The Rivals. They consist of Cheryl Cole, Nadine Coyle, Sarah Harding, Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh. Since their beginning they have achieved 20 consecutive UK Top 10 singles and two UK number one albums. According to an article I read, Guinness World Records lists them as "Most Successful Reality TV Group" in the 2007 edition. They also hold the record for "Most Consecutive Top Ten Entries in the UK by a Female Group" in the 2008 edition. Their first single was entitled Sound of the Underground...

...Girls Aloud are a British girlband consisting of five members ; Nadine Coyle , Cheryl Cole , Sarah Harding , Nicola Roberts and Kimberly Walsh. Girls Aloud were formed on the reality television show ; Popstars The Rivals in 2002. Since then they have become a huge success. To date they have had eighteen top ten singles , including three number ones. Their style of music consists of pop and electro pop. Sound of The Underground was Girls Aloud's first ever single after winning Popstars : The Rivals alongside the winning boy band One True Voice (although the boys didn't get that far). The sound of a revolution

...Before I got my iPod and sounddock, I was one of those who refuses to subscribe to the technological revolution. Prefering hi-fi and compact disc to the digital music phenomenon. However, within a week (once I'd worked out how to use it), I was hooked on my iPod and once I got the sound-dock, there was no turning back. I think it's fairly safe to say that the era of compact disc players and tape decks is over... The only reason I still have a normal cd player in my house is to listen to the radio, and those few albums that I just haven't got around to putting on my iPod yet. The Bose sound-dock is a piece of mastery in the area of audio technology. Beautiful, sleek and streamlined; it's large frontal speaker provides both volume and sound quality. The music I play on the sound-dock sounds almost incomparably better than CDs...

Track By Track - Sound Of The Underground

Advantages: Fun and funky, very different to the other girlbands out just now.
Disadvantages: A bit girl-oriented!

...Girls Aloud could easily be dissmissed as a band that relies soley on good looks, style and the media to get them somwhere, being five gorgeous girls that like to go out and party, and that are happy to pose suggestively in FHM from time to time. But surprisingly, they've come up with a very good album in "Sound Of The Underground", managing to pack the style and edge in, as well as radio-friendly tunes and great beats. The album is mainly a disco-pop-electro album. All the songs are different in their own way, but if you were to compare the album to any one of their singles, I'd say it follows in the "No Good Advice" vibe. One dissappointing side to the album is that it's clear that they want to make Cheryl (the Geordie) and Nadine (the Irish) the focus of the band vocally. I'm not disputing the fact they they have good voices...

...Track-1 Sound of the underground This is song sang by all the group, it's a song about the all different noises from the underground and all sorts off things that happen above the ground. This song isn't my favourite on the album but it is still a ok song. Rating-8/10 Track-2 No good advice This song is also song by the whole group but they each sing a bit in the verses but in the chores they all sing together. This song is about a person who mother keeps on annoying her and trying to give her advice but the person is saying she doesn't need any of her mothers advice. The Tube Never Sounded This Good

Gareth Gates and Will Young did what they were told, which involved a lot of covers and, while Will Young seems to have vanished, Gareth Gates is now producing standard old style pop music. Girls Aloud have bucked the trend, and are at the head of the new guitar-pop revolution. Indeed, last Christmas? number one single ?Sound of the Underground? was really what bought the sound to prominence. The fact that, more than half a year later, their third single was quite popular and the album is still selling, even in slightly smaller amounts, suggests they have more staying power than most of the reality TV acts we?ve seen so far. Bose SoundDock is remarkable quality, clear and crisp sound

...In my opinion the Bose sounddock was a great spend. I was looking for a quality product to enable me to listen to my iPod. I shopped around and tried out a few other speakers, e.g. JBL onstage. The Bose sound was remarkable. It was so clear it was unbelievable. I got a surround sound feeling whilst listening to the speakers and there was no sign of the low hum or odd crackle one sometimes finds accompanies certian speakers. I have now had my Bose speakers for a year. One year on and they still look new (the newer model still looks the same) and the sound is still clear and precise. It is very easy to function and from my point of view speakers which come without a remote are an uneccesary hassle, fortunately the Bose Sounddock comes with a very well equipped remote. ...Bose SoundDock Digital Music System I happened to get this as a gift and it turned out to be quiet interesting Summary: This dock is used mainly for ipod and allows you to connet mp3 players to it and listen to high quality music via speakers. It is idle for homes and small gatherings, although I would not run a party off these. Pros: This system has terrific sound and can go very load despite its relative small size. As with almost all Bose speakers the quality is amazing, so long as the source you are playing it from is high quality it will allow the speakers to each its potential. I have a surround sound Bose set up in one of my rooms but now prefer to use this product as it is very simple to operate. Just plug the mp3 player in and press play and your set. Can't get much simpler. It also runs off a wall...

Bose Sound Dock (2nd Generation)

Advantages: Incredible sound from such a small unit, good build quality

...I bought this unit in November this year. There are two models, the original sound dock which I think is about £199 and the second generation one (the one I bought) which was £279 from John Lewis. The second generation one is basically the same as the first except: a) it has a rechargeable battery b) it has a swing out dock c) it has an auxiliary (3.5mm) jack input If you just want a basic model, then go for the first gen one. I got the second gen one because I thought the battery was a useful addition as is the auxiliary 3.5mm input - I have mine connected to an apple airport express that streams itunes from my laptop to my bedroom although I have used it in a friends house with my ipod too. The sound quality is good for its size which is about the same as a hardback book and it weighs in at about 1 kilo. You can take...

Sound of the underground The 1st single and xmas number one, this a cool rnb pop number with a cool twangy guitar sound running through the background. As with most of their songs, they all get a go at the vocals in turn, some more than others because lets face it, nadine can sing and the rest of them cant.
