...You can buy this 415g can of Baxter's minestrone soup for 85p any 5 Baxters soups for £3.00 from Tesco I had a can of this at the weekend for my lunch; actually I shared a can with my husband. There is just enough for 2 if you eat some bread with it. In ½ can there are 67kcalories. The ingredients Water, Carrots, Whole meal Pasta from Wheat (10% Cooked), Potatoes, Onions, Concentrated Tomato Paste (3%), Tomatoes (2%), Green Beans, Green Peppers (1.5%), Modified Cornflour, Red Peppers (1%), Celery, Salt, Honey, Yeast Extract, Garlic Puree, Dried Basil, Oregano, Black Pepper, Vegetables (27%). ...Soups are my favourite meals, whether it's from a can or home made. But I do love making soup so I'd like to share my theory on how to make soup the best tasting, healthiest and often cheapest meal. I've learnt over several years the trick to making great soup. Generally this means to me 1) thick and hearty 2) simple and quick 3) healthy, and 4) delicious! 1) To make a soup thick I would never use flour. This isn't a common ingredient in soup although I have noticed people may recommend it. The best way to thicken soup is to be very careful about the amount of water compared to vegetables. Which ever vegetables you use, fry slightly in a saucepan first, then top up with water or stock to about 1 centimeter below top of the vegetables. Nutty Soup~Spicy Butternut Squash Soup

It comes in the traditional red tin that all the regular Heinz soups come in, so nothing spectacular there to write home about. Try this one for those cold winter days that are on the way. ~Ingredients~ 1 Lb Stewing Beef 2 Cups of Water 2 Cups of Beef Broth 1/2 Chopped Onion 2 Diced Potatoes 2 Diced Carrots 1 Diced Celery 1 Diced Turnip 1 Bay Leaf 1 Clove 1 Teaspoon Sugar Season to taste with sea Salt And black Pepper ~Cooking~ 1. Place all the ingredients in a large pan and cover. 2. Bring to the boil and then Reduce the heat. 3. Simmer for 2 hours, or until the meat is tender. 4. Chill overnight. 5. Skim off any fat. 6.
