...We stayed at this hotel in London a little over a month ago now for two nights, we chose this hotel mainly because of the central location and because it was only a ten minuite walk from the show we had booked to go too. Check in was very quick - About ten minuites and the staff at the reception seemed very friendly. My first thoughts on the hotel was that it looked really clean and that it was nicely decorated and it looked modern. I was a little dissapointed with our room as it was very small and basic, our room had a double bed, tea and coffee making facilities, a tv with satellite and a small, basic en suite bathroom with a shower. The views from our room very very poor - A block of offices which made our room dark as they were so close. The hotel has two bars and two resturaunts, the bars were again nicely decorated...

Hotel International

Advantages: Location, breakfasts

...I recently went on a cultural girlie trip with a friend to Paris. I was left to do all the booking. I was looking for a reasonable hotel, near a metro stop, which included breakfast. I came across the Hotel International on various travel sites and it seemed fairly highly rated so I booked us in for three nights. LOCATION: The hotel is located 6 Rue Auguste Barbier in the 11th Arrondissement. The nearest Metro stop is Garcourt which was a two minute walk away and it was a five minute walk to Republique which gives good links to other lines. It's not really central enough to avoid the Metro and walk to the attractions but it was located so close to a stop that it seemed ideal. PRICE: Prices vary depending on size of room and season. There are singles, doubles and triples available. We paid Euro254 for the whole time...

3 Months Spanish without the CDs

Advantages: Good value for money and thorough with practice exercises.
Disadvantages: Frightening for the non-academic student and no CDs are included.

...I wrote a review for the same book with the CDs first. I originally bought the book without the CDs and for me it was great that's why I went and purchased the one with CDs as I thought the learning experience would be better. I was wrong. The CDs are in Spanish with no English. They are good for pronunciation but that's about it - definitely not for the car! Every Spanish word in the book, and I mean every Spanish word is on the CD. I think that this can be a bit tedious and it is difficult to skip through the tracks as there is no reference to the CD in the book. There is a separate track listing on a 4 page booklet that accompanies the course which means that you have to keep referring to this whilst trying to follow the book. The commentators also go through the Spanish quite quickly therefore not leaving you much time to think...

...and the ramps came in handy for the able bodied who had luggage it was certainly the most disabled friendly hotel I had ever stayed in. There were three lifts that serviced the six floors and though they were small you never had to wait more than a couple of minutes for one. There was a luggage room for late departures, Room The room was your usual Spanish hotel room with twin beds with nice yellow and blue covers with curtains to match and bedside tables with drawers and shelves which had the phone on one. The wardrobes had mirror doors and lots of shelf and hanging space and this is where the safety deposit box was. Other furniture consisted of a chair and a vanity unit that had drawers and on this the television sat there was also a cupboard that housed the fridge and a nice touch was a complimentary bottle of water on arrival.
