The Energizer Battery Charger
Review of Energizer CHDCWB-4 Battery Charger by
micksheff
Advantages: Good value for money
Disadvantages: Takes a long time to charge batteries
....
This charger was on offer. The normal RRP being £17.99. The charger came with four AA size Energizer 2500mAH batteries. These were the same size of battery that I required for my camera. My camera however only requires two batteries so I thought that this would be ideal as I could always have a spare set of fully charged batteries with me when I was out and about with my camera.
This charger comes packaged in a thick plastic packet that was moulded around the shape of the charger. This packaging is transparent so you can see what you are buying before you part with your money.
The charger itself is rather modern looking and very compact. It is also very lightweight and weighs only 132g. Size wise it measures just 80cm long by 10cm wide and it is less than 3cm thick. The prongs of the plug are moulded into the design of the charger, which...

Picture This, But Bring Some Spare Batteries
Review of Agfa ePhoto 780 by
SMacdonald
Advantages: Good software, Largish memory card, Good quality pictures
Disadvantages: Exhausts batteries, Seems fragile
...Before looking at this product in details, lets just see what you get for your money :-
-Obviously your digital camera
-An easy to ready "How to get started" poster
-4 AA batteries (they don't last long at all!)
-2MB memory card within camera which can hold between 12-96 images
-A wrist strap
-Serial cable with adaptor for Macintosh PC
-Good software package
This sounds quite a lot. Initially I thought that the addition of a set of batteries was quite a good touch . Then I realised why they'd included them-in power terms this camera is extremely inefficient. This is,without doubt, its major disadvantage. A poor set of batteries will last no more than three, yes THREE, flash induced pictures. However a very good set (such as Duracell or Energizer) may run into double figures.
To balance the facts out a little...

Any spare batteries?
Review of Olympus CAMEDIA C 350Zoom by
Paulshistory
Advantages: Lightweight, good image quality, value for money
Disadvantages: Smallish XD memory card, and it eats batteries!
..., but to take many pictures, you'll need to buy a larger xD memory card. I bought a 512mb card for under £40 on Amazon, so they don't break the bank. The camera weight in at only 170 grams (without the batteries).
The camera has three shooting modes, being panorama, self portrait and night scene. The panorama setting is great for taking photos of views, whilst the self portrait mode works well with the built - in self timer, allowing you to attach the camera to a tripod, compose the picture, set the self timer then run around into the picture, before the photo is actually taken. Special effects include taking photographs in black and white or sepia. The camera also has a built in flash, complete with red-eye reduction built in, and works well up to a range of about 11 feet.
The photos are recorded onto the xD memory card in jpeg format...

Chinese Spare Ribs in a convenient bag!
Review of Walkers Chinese Spare Rib flavour crisps by
vickitomlinson
Advantages: Nice, different flavour
Disadvantages: Fat and calorie content
...These new Walkers Great British Takeaways crsisp are everywhere at the moment aren’t they? This is clearly the latest thing from Walkers to make us all buy more crisps and obviously no new product from Walkers would quite seem right without a truly cheesy advert involving Gary Lineker and these are no exception!
I like crisps a lot (as anyone who has read a few of my ops will know!) but I have to confess that I find normal Walkers crisps a little on the greasy side and I find their fat and calorie content scarily off putting. However, like anyone else, I sometimes get peckish, and it was in one of these moments that I decided to give the new Chinese Spare Rib flavour a try.
In case you haven’t encountered the Walkers Great British Takeaways range yet, they are available in the following flavours:
- Chinese Spare...

Keep a spare of this
Review of Spares - Michael Marshall Smith by
Billieuk
Advantages: Witty, Dark and Poignant
Disadvantages: None, except it's strangeness.
...I read this book without any preconceptions, apart from one vague description as 'good, read it' from my father. This was the perfect way to start, as my expectations were relatively low, and was immediately drawn into the story.
The story opens with our main character, Jack Randall, making his way with a group of frightened Spares in tow. We are not yet aware of why they are there, nor who he is, though we assume the spares are clones because of the blurb on the back. Very gradually, at times painfully gradually, the story reveals how he has reached this point. The story flashes back to times before, the two periods of time running as seperate sequences, parallel throughout the book. The effect is that as we read about Randall attempting to keep the spares safe in the present, at the same time we have the story of his life told...

Theres nothing spare about my ribs
Review of Walkers Chinese Spare Rib flavour crisps by
maz76
Advantages: They taste exactly like spare ribs
Disadvantages: None that I know of
...have the keys to the shop that holds his prize of Walkers Great British Takeaways Crisps, there is a lot of dancing and happiness until Gary opens the door to the shop, locks it behind him and shrugs at his new wife whilst devouring a pack of the said crisps. Just when you thought that Gary could not go any lower.
APPEARANCE
They come in the all too familiar Walkers foil wrapped for freshness crisp bag the only difference is that the bag is brown and the flavour of the crisps has been cleverly written on a takeaway bag.
SMELL
On opening the bag there is a definate whiff of chinese spare ribs that just makes my mouth water. It does not smell at all artificial but in fact as if you had just cooked spare ribs yourself.
THE TASTE
These crisps are amazing. They are very crunchy and have a lovely strong (not overpowering) taste...

Why you may never need to buy batteries again
Review of Uniross - Battery charger - 14 hr - 4xAA/AAA, 2x9V - included batteries: 4 x AA type NiMH 1300 mAh by
Drone007
Advantages: Speed, reduce in cost of batterues
Disadvantages: battery time gets shorter as used more
...Everyone owns something which requires batteries. They always run out at awqward times and cost you a ton of money.
Then people look at rechargeables and if they dont look at the right ones, they loose out on battery time or could even cause damage to the product.
This uniros set is definately good value for mony. Looking around you can pay this much for a charger by itself and half as much for a good set of rechargeable batteries.
Ont he charger itself there's an easy to see green/red LED telling you when the charge is complete. This can be easily seen and prevents confusion.
The chrage times it provides will depend upon the batteries use, however the ones included can be charged in about 3 hours.
The batteries themselves are high quality with a good battery time. They are intended for use on electrical items and usually...

Charge of the battery bridage!
Review of Uniross - Battery charger - 14 hr - 4xAA/AAA, 2x9V - included batteries: 4 x AA type NiMH 1300 mAh by
sarkles
Advantages: very compact, quick charging, easy to use
Disadvantages: none yet
...I brought this battery charger just after Christmas, after being given a new digital camera and completely wearing the batteries down within 2 days, ha ha simple things eh? I was originally looking to buy some new rechargeable batteries which were compatible with the camera but after a bit of research, decided to get this smart little charger.
I purchased this item from Argos and the pack included:
An Uniross Photo Battery Charger
4 AA Ni-MH rechargeable batteries
This pack cost me £17.99 but as one pair of rechargeable batteries were in the region of £6-7, this to me seems quite reasonable (at last, SOMETHING I found to be a bargain!), but since doing some research on the net, I have found the same product to be slightly cheaper on certain websites.
The instructions with the pack were to allow the supplied batteries...

Uniross Charger + Batteries
Review of Uniross - Battery charger - 14 hr - 4xAA/AAA, 2x9V - included batteries: 4 x AA type NiMH 1300 mAh by
bluerose28
Advantages: Good Long Life Batteries
Disadvantages: Switch isn't too clear
...This review is for:
AA batteries = 2 x (2.8V) and charger for Ni-Cd or Ni-Mh batteries.
I bought this charger and batteries to play with my new CD/MP3 player. When arriving home, I opened the box, read the instructions and decided "yes, fairly simple, I'll give it a go".
Let me note that there is a switch on this charger, and you can choose either Ni-Cd or Ni-Mh. Fairly simple to understand.
So, before plugging them in to charge, I put the switch to the correct side of the charger, and then plugged them in. A red light came on in the right slot, which also happened to be right next to the Ni-Cd, to indicate which side of the switch you choose. Just a coincidence, but I had to think for a moment that maybe it was charging Ni-Cd instead of Ni-Mh. I'm not sure how much of a wise design this is, but that was the only problem I...

Sweet Chocolate v Battery Acid
Review of battery-force.co.uk by
markd_uk
Advantages: Great batteries at Great prices, with free chocolates
Disadvantages: It's not as easy as popping to the shop
...Whatever we do in life, these days we often need to put batteries in something that's designed to make our lives easier, more entertaining, more exciting or simply more fun.
From the triple-A's in your television remote control to the 2CR5 in your digital camera, the C-size in your doorbell ringer to the D-size in your child's favourite toy and on to the AA battery for that toy in your bedroom that gives your bedtimes a more exciting buzz, batteries are all around us, in a variety of shapes and sizes, brands and prices.
But buying batteries can be an arduous, and often expensive, task that leaves one frustrated. At birthdays you've invariably bought the wrong size battery for the present you're giving - if you've remembered it takes batteries at all - and when the Ever Readys in your torch are no longer ready for that powercut you...
