...I brought my set of tannoys 15 months ago and, at the time,they cost £300.Now,with a little searching around,they can be obtained for under £200. What you get in the box is five satellite speakers(two front,two rear and a centre speaker) plus a seperate powered subwoofer. You also get wall mounted supports for the two front and two rear speakers and all the speaker cables(i changed the cables to 79 stand q.e.d. speaker cable to improve the sound). Setting up the system is relatively easy:you just need an electric drill for the the wall mounted stands and once fitted,you just connect the cables to your home cinema amp. Easy!! Once you have connected everything,it is time to try out the system. My first reaction and i am sure yours will be the same was one of complete disbelief!! ...of the speakers is not that important. This was actually very great for me as I love to have a room filled with sound at the same strength and tonal variation wherever in the room I stand. The sound is heavenly with certain CD's. I say certain CD's as the sound reproduced is so clear that badly recorder CD's really sound terrible. If you like classical music then this system is certainly for you as you have the feeling that your are actually standing in the middle of the band of musicians. Amazing! Modern pop music doesn't sound so good. As to connecting the system to a good quality AV receiver and watching DTS recorded DVD's: in one word ...scary! ...a CD player (a Rotel) of a higher quality than my Marantz because i intend to upgrade soon. The looks of the Monitor audios instantly impress - the quality of the veneer is top notch for the price, and the silver drivers and Gold tweeter (with removable silver protectors) look expensive and not at all tacky. They have the class of the much more expensive Reference range of speakers. Size wise, they are not small speakers, however, they are small for the volume of sound they are capable of producing, and the good looks mean that they pleasant to look at rather than offensive. It is worth pointing out that they take up around the same space as a set of compact standmounters on stands. In relative Hifi terms, these speakers are fairly unobtrusive. ...INTRO Part of my ongoing efforts to upgrade my computer system included a new set of speakers. I wanted a set that would be cheap but still offer a reasonable sound quality and a fair bit of base. GEN I ended up in PCWorld looking at the Packard Bell FPS 100. Some of the other units were coming in at £60 plus, to much for a set of PC speakers. The Packard Bell set came in at just under £25. Bargain. DETAILS The speakers come with two flat panel desktop treble speakers and a neat little sub woofer for under the desk. The flat speakers are made of solid silver metal which incorporates a metal base as a stand. The actual speaker is covered with a black gauze and the log mounted on top. ...before in all my life? One of the unwritten rules for SC is that no obscenities are allowed, but who comes to control? Where is the nutty president of the imaginary banana republic with his alternative utopia, where are the quacks? THE FUTURE (?) I can only observe and ask, but not living in your country I can't possibly find an answer. In German we have the expression: 'scissors in the brain' meaning that you yourself decide to suppress (cut out) an opinion before it even has the chance of being criticized because you're afraid of the consequences. I do hope for you that this practise isn't the explanation for the despicable situation, for this parody of what SC used to be. But lo and behold: I've found a remedy, I know how SC can be saved! ...After buying a new PC from my locol computer store,I sat down, booted it up, installed a new game and then remembered, I had no speakers to listen to the sound or music. So I searched the internet for ages, looking for a decent pair of speakers. I got these for £50. I wasn't expecting much, but I was very suprised! There are 5 speakers and also a fairly large box that contains a subwoofer and the amplifier. The speakers plug into the box, which in turn, plugs into the speaker output on your computer. There is a separate power button and power light on the top of the box. The speakers are pretty well built and actually look quite nice with a tough black plastic casing. The sound from these fairly low price speakers is suprisingly good. The floor standing bass box offers decent amounts of bass leaving the speakers to deal... Read review

You can buy them in a 3 or 5 package, The three package comes with the speaker units (obviously!), stands for rear and centre (upright and on side), all bolts + Allen key, and oodles of quality speaker cable. The 5 package is as above but with two more upright stands and extra cable. There is also the option to purchase the 5 package with an active Sony subwoofer. There are different accessories available for these speakers as well. Colour grilles come as standard with the 3 and 5 package (you get the choice of Navy Blue or Grey). You can also purchase some rather trendy speaker stands, and get a choice of two different styles. I have compared these units to others available on the market today, but the design and sheer quality for the price really shines them above the rest in my eyes.. (and ET's!)... Read review

..., and speaker systems/stands. The manuals were well written, easy to follow, and documented accordingly to what kind of setup your pc system might have. Stands were supplied for four of the speakers (they probably assumed you have no need to wall mount your centre speaker..), and even go so far as to include wall plugs and screws! The sub itself is the control centre, with main volume control, as well as centre, rear, and sub level controls should you wish to adjust any aspect of the system (very handy having it at the front, however if you prefer to store your sub out of sight its not a very nice feature, its all preference). Rubber mounts are on all the bottoms of the speakers, which was a godsend considering all those rubbish plastic bottoms which are liable to slip everywhere you try to put them.
