Binatone 510sms - Texting from your landine

Advantages: send/receive texts, cheap product, caller display, easy to use

...The Binatone Speakerphone 510sms is a corded telephone that not only has a hand's free facility, but can actually text mobiles and other phones and receive them, has caller display, last number redial, a phone-book, 4 quick dialling buttons to store the most often-called numbers, in, out and draft boxes to store text messages and all this for a little over £21 that I paid in Tesco. At the time of writing, I have done a search at google and it's brought up this model at similar prices on lots of sites. Using the phone. SPEAK LOUDER PLEASE OK DONT YELL

Advantages: good if you only want just the handset type phone

...I purchased our binatone speakerphone 5 in 1999 it is Model 0667 we thought it would be useful as it has a memory of 13 stored numbers. With a large family only one button to press for the numbers. We have tried to get the numbers to store in order to use this facility, but failure each time.It has even dialed the number when only trying to get it to store.We gave up trying so still have to dial all the numbers ourselves. So much for saving time. Try to use the hands free facility (speakerphone) great for you to hear them, but they can't hear you unless you stand with your mouth to the speaker set,which is to the left-hand side, under the handset. Although the phone is quite nicely styled,a nice cream colour with clear easy to read push buttons, alot of its functions do not work. This in my opinion is one for the bin...

SPEAK SAFELY AS YOU DRIVE

I decided that I had to buy a hands free system for my car, as I was fed up with ignoring the phone whilst I was driving, and having two small children and two elderly parents, you never know just how important that ignored phone call is. Say 'hello' to a cheap and cheerful phone!

...Binatone is a world renowned and very trustworthy company. The Binatone Speakerphone 100 is a cheap phone with lots of features. It can store up to 13 numbers, recall has a secracy feature and you can pause and redail. It also has a speajerphone option which has a red lcd light for when it is on. The speakerphone is very clear and can be heard over ten paces away. Now I won't lie, it's not the BEST phone out there, but it is pretty good for it's price. it doesn't look super classy or anythingbut is brilliant for a first home, office, or just as a cheap phone with lots of features. It can either hang neatly on the wall, or lie on a surface making it compatable with everyones home! Although it is corded the cord is reasonably long, but if it's not long enough, you can always put it on speakerphone. Sadly it is not availible anymore...

Easy to use

...We bought our Speakerphone 5 when we moved into our house 4 years ago and it still does a wonderful job as a second phone. We were so pleased with the brand that we decided to buy a cordless one from Binatone. The Speakerphone 5 itself is a very good phone. It is easy to use, it is stylish and comes in a variety of colours. We have chosen the blue one to match our kitchen. But now to the technical details: It has got thirteen memory places, three direct ones and ten indirect ones, which means you have to press the MEMORY button first and then one of the ten store buttons. It has also got a Secrecy button and a Redial button and, as you would expect from a speakerphone, a speakerbutton, where you can switch from handset to speaker. So, if you are busy and a phonecall comes in, you just press the speakerbutton and you can communicate...

Va Va Verve

Advantages: Good size buttons, proper answer machine, well styled.
Disadvantages: Slimline handset can slide down the couch with ease.

...A really solid cordless phone. After experiencing numerous problems with my last cordless phone, I swapped it for this one kind of on a whim with little research. 6 months and a few drops down the line and the gamble has paid off. The quality of the cordless function is very high, with no noticible "fuzz" on the line. The speakerphone option is also very good, providing loud and clear output of the person on the other end and seemingly an equally good microphone (seeing as I have yet to receive even one of the usual complaints about quietness that I usually get with speakerphones). The answer machine is operable through the base station itself rather than through the handset, which I personally greatly prefer as it allows for a simple one button on/off operation (rather than picking up the handset and navigating to a menu...
