Weed Clearing Made easy
Review of Spear & Jackson Swiss Hoe by
marycryan
Advantages: Very efficient, halves effort required.
Disadvantages: None
...As a seasoned, but somewhat lazy, organic allotment holder, for some time I've been looking for a tool that would make light, efficient work of weeding. I've finally found it, this wonderful hoe has a push /pull action which means you remove the weed as you move the hoe very quickly and also are left with a nicely prepared tilth. The hoe also has a tilting head which makes if good at getting close into established plants whilst not disturbing them.
I bought mine towards the end of 2000s growing season, but even in that short length of time it has become my favourite tool, much more efficient than the traditional push hoe. Seeing it use has already led several of my gardening neighbours to buy one too.
Happy weeding!...

Samphire Hoe
Review of Samphire Hoe, Dover, Kent, England by
Jamie73
Advantages: lots to see and do
Disadvantages: Can be chilly when its windy
...Living in Dover me and my girlfriend visit Samphire Hoe a few times throughout the year to walk our dogs or just for a stroll around this site and the beach beyond.
Samphire Hoe.
The Hoe itself was made from 4.9 million cubic metres of chalk marl which was dug from the channel tunnel in its construction. The site is actually owned by Euro tunnel and is managed in partnership with the White Cliffs project. Inside Samphire Hoe, you can follow the pathed walks, look ay wildflowers, do a spot of birdwatching or fishing and there are also picnic areas dotted around the site.
Gaining Entry.
Entry to the Hoe is from the A20 motorway on the west bound carriage way to London. There is a well signposted slip road and when you reach this you have to stop at a set of traffic lights.
These are in place purely as the single tunnel which...

A Ruud little Hoe
Review of Neverbend Stainless Dutch Hoe by
ASBO2000
Advantages: long waterproofed shaft, durable, soil doesn't stick to the blade
Disadvantages: none
...Without wanting to come across as a bit of a Neverbend fanatic, all of my garden tools have over time been replaced by the Neverbend range for a number of reasons, primarily though because they last and last despite the abuses dished out every spring, summer and autumn. Leave then in the rain for a few days and you won't find yourself with rust on a stick a few weeks later requiring another expensive visit to the garden centre.
The Neverbend Stainless Dutch Hoe won't speak to you in an amusing voice or try and sleep with you in exchange for money but it will make the removal and cutting of weeds in your flower beds much easier which leaves much more time to enjoy the fruits of your labour. I bought my Neverbend Stainless Dutch Hoe from my local garden centre for £14.99. As with all of the Neverbend range it is a touch more expensive...

Review of the Victorinox Century Swiss Army Knife
Review of Victorinox - Swiss Army Knife by
freelancer1
Advantages: Sharp serrated blade, attractive design.
Disadvantages: None that spring to mind.
...I am a little bit sad. You see, I'm a pen knife anorak...
I have four of the things, and use them for camping trips, jobs around the house and those bizarre tasks that pop up from time to time (ever got a lump of chewing gum stuck to your shoe before a meeting?!?) In short - I KNOW about penknives.
Features of the Victorinox Swiss Army Century Swiss Army Knife
Serrated/Straight blade - this is pulled out from the cover by gripping a little groove on the back of the blade. It is made of stainless steel, so it won't rust, and it "locks" when it is in line with the handle. The blade is 4" long and has about 60% serrated edge and 40% straight edge. It is an incredibly sharp blade that cuts just about anything - string...

Don't miss this Swiss bliss!
Review of Marks and Spencer Swiss Milk Extra Fine Chocolate by
jammy_banana
Advantages: wonderfully smooth chocolate
Disadvantages: a wee bit more expensive
...There is a very famous quote comparing Italy and Switzerland. Something along the lines of the Swiss have had 500 years of democracy and peace and all they have given the world is the cuckoo clock whereas the Italians who have had 500 years of turmoil have given the world so many more useful inventions. Well good for Italy.
But the Swiss have not just given the world the cuckoo clock. Far from it. You see the Swiss are responsible for much chocolate innovation which I feel has been overlooked by the world at large. Swiss chocolate ranks as among the finest in the world. So what if they haven’t managed to make any great inventions, they’ve made damn good chocolate.
Over the years I have been lucky enough to sample some genuine, bona fide, bought in Switzerland Swiss Chocolate when friends have travelled to the little nation...

Michael Jackson's Thriller
Review of Thriller - Michael Jackson by
Mickie26
Advantages: Great songs, talent, highly skilled voice, excellent sound quality
Disadvantages: You might not like Michael Jackson
...There is no other album like Michael Jackson's Thriller even after 25 years it still remains a class above the rest in my opinion. Michael Jackson's Thriller sold in excess of 27 million copies in the USA and Michael Jackson received a ground breaking eight Grammys and 12 nominations in 1984.
The album is highly polished and has an excellent sound quality. The album produces a style that is unique to Michael Jackson which has a great dance atmosphere and has a good blend of percussion and keyboards. Tracks like "Billie Jean" and "Beat It" are part of this influential album.
I love the way Michael Jackson's Thriller captures you into a world of make believe as the music slows down and picks up throughout the album. No two songs are the same. The beat in each song is fantastic giving a good blend of variation throughout the album...

Swiss Vanilla Protein Conditioner
Review of St Ives Swiss Formula Swiss Vanilla by
kateteen
Advantages: Delicious smell, does its job
Disadvantages: Doesn't feel good on wet hair
...Swiss Vanilla Protein Conditioner- OK, OK. So I know that this isn't in the right category but this is the closest I could get as Ciao don't give us the ability to suggest new brands, only products.
OK, so its a conditioner with the usual claims covering the packaging: leaves hair beautifully soft and manageable, radiating with health, body and shine.
Theres nothing there out of the ordinary, no claim that isn't made on almost every other conditioner bottle. The thing that attracted me to this conditioner was the name: Swiss Vanilla Protein Conditioner. Like almost everyone I know, I love vanilla. No, I adore it. I use vanilla room sprays, scented candles, perfume, shower gel, bath bubbles, the works. Vanilla is my absolute favourite smell. I think I've made my point anyway.
This conditioner is designed for normal hair. My...

Swiss Army Huntsman Knife - Not Just For Hunting!
Review of Swiss Army Huntsman Knife by
Haxrskilz
Advantages: Plenty of tools, small size.
Disadvantages: Pricing could be considered steep, tweezers and toothpicks easily lost.
...*Product*
Small, smart, safe - three words out of many that could be used to describe how useful the Swiss Army Huntsman Knife is. With a size being slightly smaller than an average male middle-finger, and yet still thinner than a thumbs width, it is no wonder that it is more commonly known as a the more popular 'Pocketknife' - a place where it is perfectly safe to hold, might I add.
As with most items, the size has no impact on the innards of the instrument, although it is definitely helpful that it can slide neatly in and out of the palm of your hand, but, have no qualms about it; the durable plastic outer-shell (usually in a firetruck red, but comes in a range of colours) a slight grip of the hand will keep it in place.
As with all Swiss Army Knives, this comes with strong stainless steel and some dangerously sharp edges (Warning...

Happy Birthday Michael Jackson! - Off the Wall
Review of Off The Wall [Remastered] - Michael Jackson by
Coolfox1988
Advantages: Greatest Debut Ever, Every Song is Fantastic, His Afro!
Disadvantages: How can there be any, it's Michael Jackson!
...So far I have reviewed every other Michael Jackson album out there including, Thriller, Bad and Dangerous. Well today (29th August 2006) is a very special day, it is Michael Jackson's 48th Birthday!
For this reason I would like to take the liberty to write my final review on one of the greatest albums of all time - Michael Jackson's first solo album away from Motown, "Off the Wall".
A little history about the production of "Off the Wall":
Released in August 1979 "Off The Wall" was Michaels first solo album as an adult artist. He wanted this album to be the best it could be. He needed someone with great experience and had met Quincey Jones on the set on the movie "The Wiz" and Quincey produced the album. Michael wanted the sound of the album to be different from that of the Jacksons who had just had there biggest album success...

"Thriller" - 60,000,000 copies
Review of Thriller [Remastered] - Michael Jackson by
Coolfox1988
Advantages: Groundbreaking - No wonder it's the biggest selling album of all time
Disadvantages: Not Enough Songs, but leaves you with a great taste for things to come
....
Please get the shrapnel out of your pocket and instead of spending it on alcohol, sweets and sex, buy this album, its better than all of those. I can guarantee it will change your opinion of Michael Jackson.
I recommend buying it from play.com as they do a double album of both "Off the Wall/Thriller" michael's 1st two solo albums on "Epic" for the inexperienced wary Michael Jackson fan.
I give this album 10/10, more if i could. I hoe his new album in 2007 will reflect his genious portrayed in this album and all the others he has created....
