Advantages: You get to say you've got a smart kid, and it won't be just parental subjectivity
Disadvantages: Smart kids can be a pain in the a** sometimes, since they're sometimes smarter than their parents!

.... Not that I didn't think that he was smart or even above average, it was just that gifted seemed so... extreme to me. From 3rd grade he started a program where he was taken out of his regular classes one day a week and sent to a special school for the gifted. (Note: Children who score even higher than my son are often recommended to be removed completely from the regular school system and sent to special schools for all their education.) At this school my son was exposed to subjects and courses which never appear in any regular school curriculum, and the subject matter was taught to him at a speed higher than his actual learning ability. This means, simply, that he got to learn interesting things at a challenging rate. Personally, I think that this program is excellent and my son has truly gained a great deal from his years... ...INTRODUCING THE FESTIVE GIFT FAIR The gift fair runs in November and this year it ran from the 16th November till the 19th November. I am sure quite a few of you have never heard of this event as I certainly hadn't until last year, when a relative told me about it and had a stall there this year. The Festive Gift fair has in fact been running for 10 years at the Birmingham NEC would you believe! This is one of the largest and most busiest exhibition centres in Europe and they host well over 150 events a year. The Festive Gift Fair is situated in hall 12 and has to be the least advertised exhibition there is. After finding out about the show I thought I would notice it on the TV and in the newsletters like The Clothes show etc but I never did. Advantages: its a joy to give...a memory is a special gift

...Dont you ever wonder what to give someone who within the twilight of their lives...they dont really want anything material...they have more than enough of everything, so what then can you give an elderly mother or father, or aunt or grandmother or grandfather or even an elderly friend....??? How about the gift of a memory, something they can smile about and feel warm inside..... Think about it carefully...perhaps theyve not seen a special person for a long time.....isnt it a good idea to arrange a meeting, to take them over to see that special person....? ...Are you desperalely in need of getting a gift but don't have the time to cruise the shopping malls in search of it? Is is the dog box if you come up empty handed for that special occassion? Well, worry no more. This place is packed with goodies and their prices are fabulous (good news to a poor student nurse like myself!!!) I'm not the only one who thinks so though, as you will be able to see from the many of us out there who've written about it to ciao. This place is great and the name says it all really. Gadget shop is just that a shop full of gadgets and gifts and puts all the fun back into shopping. Well for me anyway as I hate the shops as do many of the guys out there. When I received my first order I also received the Yves Rocher Green Book of Beauty for that year, which is the catalogue containing all the products available. They include skincare, bath products, perfume, sun creams, foot care, men’s toiletries and hair care. All the products are made from plant extracts and none have ever been tested on animals. The story does not follow Jessica though, it mainly follows Annie Wilson, (Cate Blanchett) a widowed mother of three young boys. Annie has this psychic gift (hence the title of the film surprisingly) which she uses to tell peoples’ fortunes. It is mainly the troubled locals that go round to her house to see Annie play with some cards, lay them out on a table and tell the future. What she sees are purely for other peoples benefit, and so she only accepts donations from them, rather than a payment.
