TIME CONSUMING, UNADVENTUROUS AND LACK OF FITNESS
Review of Wii Fit (Wii) by
nathaninnit
Advantages: Hopefully you will see improvements
Disadvantages: An expensive dance workout DVD
...exercises, so my Wiimote sits far away. Afterall, you do need a ridiculous amount of space to play Wii Fit. That's why it's lucky it is a family product and you can get away with having it in your living room. There is no way you could ever play Wii Fit in your bedroom.
There are upcoming releases that use the balance board, so it will be interesting to see if these are also able to aid weight loss because that's what Nintendo video games appear to be becoming all about. I like it, but I don't love it....

My 2006
Review of The Year in View - 2006 by
daylehall
Advantages: a fairly good year, lots of happy memories
Disadvantages: Marley being diagnosed with epilepsy
...1. What did you do in 2006 that you've never done before?
I went on holiday to Borneo and Kuala Lumpar and had the most fantastic time. The flight nearly killed me but I have to say, it was well worth it and I would do it all over again! It's a great place to go if you are interested in wildlife.
2. Did you keep your New Years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
My new year's resolution for 2006 was to give up smoking and I managed to do it for 3 months but then went on holiday and gave in! I thought that smoking while I was on holiday was ok and that I would stop when I got back but it never happened!! Will try again at some point! I didn't make any resolutions for this year as I never stick to them and I am fairly happy with my life as it is (except for the smoking!)
3. Did anyone close to you give birth...

FUN & Different Exercise Un-Routines
Review of Member Advice on Exercise Routines by
myportfolio
Advantages: No memberships, fees or registrations
Disadvantages: None that I know of
...sitting: Sit back at your computer indoors if you really cannot take the cold weather. You can do leg exercises while reading your email. You can do neck rolls and chin exercises and all other sorts of mini-exercises while you do your computer work. The best ones are the ‘mental exercises’ that you get to do all the time as soon as you sign online.
o DELIVER mail: The mail must go on, and even in this ice cold weather, your mail person is delivering, trudging through the snow and blizzard-like conditions. Apply for a job at the post office and you will be in the ‘forever-fit’ position with a ‘natural’ exercise every day.
o ICE-skating is the best and most fun exercise you can do in the winter. Bring a few friends and have an ice-skating exercise party. And, then do that same thing every week.
Okay, so now, you figure out what...

Get fit while having fun
Review of Wii Fit (Wii) by
sandra102
Advantages: Varied games, exercise regimes, great fun
Disadvantages: expensive for a game
...in working out and encourage the rest of the family to give it a try.
To help you keep track of your progress, Wii Fit includes a special Wii Fit Channel that allows up to eight people to store and compare their personal fitness profiles, and also takes account of any exercise done away from the Wii Balance Board - ensuring you have an accurate overview of your fitness. And when you do make progress, you won't only be able to see it represented by a graph, but by the changing waistline of your chosen Mii character. Take the first step on the road to a healthier lifestyle with Wii Fit!
The only down side is only one person can use it at a time meaning at times there were three of us standing behindbeside the person on the board doing the exercises, yoge etc. with them.
Love it - recommended...

Fitness First - if you can find the space
Review of Fitness First, Camden, London by
annaroos1
Advantages: Good cardio and classes...
Disadvantages: but the weights area leaves a lot to be desired
...to wipe your own equipment after use people rarely do so and Fitness First does not provide any form of cleaning spray etc. The cleaners turn up fairly frequently however and they are always careful to wipe all the equipment down so it's not too much of a problem.
The weights part of the gym is much smaller and much more cramped. In fact, even though I normally enjoy doing weights I tend to stay away from them here as there just is not enough space to do any of the usual exercises. You still get the odd body builder type here, but I think most of the more serious weight lifters tend to stick to other gyms with more equipment and, above all, more space.
The studio is right at the back and is fairly roomy (well at least compared to the weights section outside it!). The walls are mirrored at the front and the back and there are several...

WII FIT - IS THE 'WEIGHT' WORTH IT
Review of Wii Fit (Wii) by
CLAWSON0810
Advantages: EXERCISE IN YOUR OWN HOME
Disadvantages: IF YOU ARE FAIRLY FIT MIGHT BE BORING TO BEGIN WITH
..., Tesco's, Asda, Dixons, Woolworths……….and anywhere else that you might be able to buy the game. All to no avail. The product was "out of stock".
The young man at Currys was quite helpful. He said that his head office had stopped sending the Wii Fit game to the stores and was now only selling on-line as they were in short supply.
Now, short supply for a game that had been hyped up out of (what I considered to be all proportion) - surely such a major corporation as Nintendo had the foresight to produce at least 10% more than they thought they would sell? Apparently not - a Wii Fit seemed to be as impossible to get hold of as a greased pig.
Now working in the logistics industry as I do, I heard all the rumours about container loads of these games languishing quay-side in an effort to keep interest in the "Rare" Wii Fit high. Don't know...

2006 is over. It's Gone; Forget About It!
Review of The Year in View - 2006 by
markd_uk
Advantages: There's a new year ahead
Disadvantages: It could be a repeat of last year
...Still" is one of the most diverse, interesting and exciting albums for a long time and Allen's girlish voice excites the most mundane of lyrics, making depressing songs quite jovial. It's truly awesome, and if you haven't heard it go flush your head down the toilet. Or just by the CD and revel in its greatness.

* Worst Music of 2006
How can I pick the year's worst music when most of my collection revolves around Shakin' Stevens? It would be totally unfair of me to pick on a particular album or artiste because I probably haven't really heard the worst music of 2006 as I hate any Myspace website that has a track playing on it when I load the page up. Plus, I couldn't really see what the fuss about the "Arctic Monkeys" was all about.
That said, David Hasselhoff's "Jump In My Car", tongue-in-cheek as it was, was truly atrocious...

Can These FitFlops Succeed Where All Else Failed?
Review of FitFlop by
jesi
Advantages: Attractive; very comfortable; absorbs shock; exercises muscles from the inside, improving circulation; gives feet support
Disadvantages: Fairly expensive; feet exposed to the elements
...and exercise the muscles, similar in action to the way toning tables exercise different parts of the body, by encouraging circulation and making the muscles work on the inside differently to their normal stresses in normally designed shoes.
As I am 'physically challenged' I find it very difficult to exercise my legs adequately, so this seemed like a promising purchase . . . if it worked . . . if they fit . . . and if they gave me adequate support . . .
I know ~ I'm a sucker for a good promotion . . .
I clicked on the 'Add to basket' button and was given a choice of sizes; there were also a few small pictures of different coloured FitFlops, so that you had a choice of Navy, Bronze, Natural or Red in sizes 4 - 9 with the default size being 8 (At least those are the options that I remember ~ when I went on the site to get information...

Wii are much fitter thanks to Wii Fit!
Review of Wii Fit (Wii) by
Luvlylana
Advantages: Encourages people who may not have done excerise without the interaction of a console
Disadvantages: You cannot record activity you took part in the day before
...balance tests, which then calculate your Wii Fit age. This can then be improved by playing the games and workouts available on the disk.
At the end of your daily body test, you stamp the date on the calendar, which helps you keep a record of the days you have played on Wii Fit. Different amounts of stamps help you open up different features on the game, including a different stamp shape for your calendar.
The aim is to work your way through the muscle workouts, yoga workouts, aerobic exercises and balance games to earn "Fit Cash", which equates to the amount of time you have spent doing exercises on the program. Fit cash can also be added from external activities to your personal activity log. This allows you to see how much exercise you have done over the whole of the day, including your Wii Fit exercises.
When you reach a certain...

...Don't stress over exercise just chill out!
Chillates is a workout brought to us by the Ministry Of Sound. Combining Yoga, Pilates and the Alexander Technique, it provides a full mind and body workout which improves balance, aerobic fitness, co-ordination and muscle tone. *** My Opinion on… ***
With so many fitness DVD's out there at the moment it can be hard finding something that is right for you. In this section I will give my opinion on everything from who this will suit to how challenging each section is and how long the workout takes to the all important results. Hopefully this will give you the best idea...
