Advantages: Special ed. teachers and kids are great Disadvantages: The system sucks big time
...specialneeds is the cry I hear from some, well that’s a lie. In my job I am required to take groups for Maths, English and I actually take the IT lessons as I am pretty handy on a PC. I am in full collaboration with the class teacher and we certainly have made an impact. Our last 2 OFSTED inspections went very well and we are improving more all the time.
However what I wanted to discuss was the attitudes towards special education from certain areas, as well as some of the things that bug me.
Hyper Children
-------------------
One of my biggest gripes is when people have children who get a little hyperactive, and they are therefore labelled specialneeds. Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a term used far too often now. Too many parents as soon as their child has a restless night wants a label attaching...
Advantages: Healthy and tasty Disadvantages: Expensive
...(eight different Kellogg cereals).
I bought mine from Tesco and for a 500g packet I paid £2.87, this I think is expensive especially when compared to the shops own product at £1.99 for the same size. However I felt on this occasion I needed the quality I believe this product has, especially as I wanted to use it as part of my weight loss programme.
About the product:
Like all the Kellogg products the Special K packet looks attractive and appealing. It shows the multi grain flakes with part of a female?s body, encouraging us to see if we can get slimmer for summer. While on the rear of the packet it goes into much more detail about the slimmer two-week challenge.
While on the sides of the packet you are given more information on what each bowl of Special K gives you, an ingredients list, allergic advice and Nutrition...

Review of Kellogg's Special K
Advantages: nothing Disadvantages: less friends, treated unequal, slow education, waste of time, ruin their lives...
...i was in a special ED, and i hated the teachers (well not all).i left in yr 9 to mainstream. Every year it gets worse. now i just finish school (completed HSC in 2006).
i could have done better without the special ed. why do i have to wait for the dumb pple to catch up with me and why the teachers act so babish to me. Im not suppose to be in the special ed but why do i have to move there? i have no disabily or anything. i was placed in the special ed in yr1 to yr 9.
High school specail ed was the worst, its like u have to repeat everything from the start. Even when i was yr 3 and 4, they have more challenging questions than in high school. In high sschool, i have to WAIT for the dummies.
Special ED. ruin my life, why i cant live normal like every other students? Why i cant be treated equally? why are the students dont acccept me...
Advantages: Feels nice enough Disadvantages: Dries skin excessively and makes it produce more oil, smells awful
...comes out of.
The cleanser is a clear gel with about the same texture as a lot of shampoos. It smells awful, of lavender mainly, although funnily it also seems quite clinical smelling even though it smells of lavender. The scent's not too strong though, so you don't notice it that much when you're using it.
When you use it the gel foams up to give a nice lather which is easy to use and a little goes a long way, you only need a very small amount each time. It feels nice enough on the skin, and it gives a kind of fresh, tingly feeling when you wash it off. It does wash off easily so there's no need to go scrubbing at your face.
After using it my skin feels fresh and clean, but it does feel quite tight and after a few uses it made my skin quite dry and it started to go flaky in places. It also seemed to make my skin get oily again...
Advantages: It's the Specials! Disadvantages: One or two tracks not so good.
...Specials - The Specials
It's 1979 I am 16 going on 17, left school and am a scooter skin, which basically meant I rode a scooter (Lambretta SX 200) and had a skinhead.
I was into Ska in a big way, but old style skinhead Ska, The Pioneers, The Upsetters etc. Then something happened, we got British Ska, The Beat, Selector, Madness (early on) and the best of all, The Specials. I have two vinyl LP's left in my house, this one (very scratched) and one by a band called Back To The Planet. This LP rocked, it got played over and over from '79 to '81 (when The Jam took over for me).
~~~~~The Band~~~~~
The band themselves seemed to consist of hundreds of people, though in fact there were:
Jerry Dammers - Keyboards
Terry Hall - Vocals
Neville Staple - Vocals and percussion
Roddy radiation - Guitar
(Sir) Horace Gentleman - Bass...
Advantages: gentle yet effective in blemish removal and daily cleansing Disadvantages: strong lavendar smell
...I was blessed with lovely skin throughout my teens only to be plagued by acne and sensitivity in my early 20's.. finally went to a salon and had my "skin mapped" by a dermalogica specialist and was given a prescription of products suitable for me:
i finally bought special cleansing gel, antioxidant hydramist, active moist moisturiser, multivitamin thermofoliant, skin hydrating booster and will review each seperately. This review will be focusing on the special cleansing gel.
I bought a 500ml bottle costing £35, while this seems steep it actually works out cheaper in the long run as the cleanser should last you 8 months at least (mine has lasted almost 9 months and both myself and my 60 year old mother been using it twice a day). The ingredients are very concentrated so you need literally a pea size amount each wash.
The packaging is...
Advantages: none Disadvantages: no one cares enough
...What is a specialneed?
+++++++++++++++++
If you have a disability: e.g.
Learning
Behavioural,
Physical
Mental
And you require help with, one or all of these problems: you have a specialneed. Such as:
Bathing aids,
Easy access (ramps)
Wheelchair.
Extra help in the classroom.
The specialneeds I am talking about are special educational needs (help in the school environment).
A child who has learning difficulties will require extra provision in school. This is a specialneed.
After the assessment is carried out and the child is found to need help they are assigned to a SENCO (special educational needs co-ordinator)
There is a code of practise, which should be adhered to by all professionals:
This is a guide for parents, teachers, schools, social services and local authorities.
You can order a copy of the code...
Advantages: Good graphics and control Disadvantages: long load times
...NEED FOR SPEED: SHIFT
Unlike previous games in the franchise there are no high speed chases from the cops, this one focuses on more of an authentic track racing game.
The career mode is lengthy with over 200 events to complete and as you win and are promoted up the leagues until you finally reach the World Tour. The modes vary from standard races, time trials, drift challenges, endurance events and car battles. You advance the leagues by earning stars through either your rank in a race, precision points, aggression points and by completing bonus objectives.
Depending on your driving style you will earn special medals that will be added to your drivers profile. Your profile constantly changes with each race and is a good indicator of the type of driver you are. With the medals and points your driver profile...
Advantages: Car Handling Disadvantages: Very Glitched, Repetitive
...I was a big fan of the 'Need for Speed : Underground' games, back when all you had to do was get to the starting point and then race. There was no story and there was no running away from the cops every five minutes. After 'Need for Speed : Underground 2' I stopped playing these games. because it moved away from the original idea of the game and because the far better 'Juiced' was on the market. But I finally decided to give one ago and here's the review for it.
~~~ Story ~~~
I was unaware that the 'Need for Speed' games had a story nowadays, so I was surprised when the game started with a cut-scene featuring real actors and actresses. I was sceptical of how much this could add to the game.
The plot to the game is that you are an undercover cop trying to gain the trust of some gangsters involved in the street racing...
Advantages: hypoallergenic, all natural ingredients, no chemicals Disadvantages: expensive
...could end up irritating sensitive skin more, but it washes away all impurities and leaves my skin soft and smooth :-). It should be washed off with plenty of water and with cotton wool, or just a flannel will do lol, you shouldn't just rub it into your skin and leave it, that causes blackheads.
The only problem i find with Dermalogica is they have a lot of products, different types of face wash, but don't say on the bottle what skin type they are for, so your best off asking a professional what you will need. What i have done is bought a starter pack for combination skin, for £25 you get 10ml bottles of Special Cleansing Gel, Multi Active Toner, Active Moist moisturiser and a satchet of face mask. I used the names on the bottles in the starter pack to find out which Dermaloica products were for my skin type.
Dermalogica are very...
