GT Aggressor XC2. What a Bike for the Money
Advantages: Strong Frame and Wheels, Tyres do not let go
Disadvantages: None really!!
...Bought this bike with my work cycle to work scheme.
A great buy from Halfords.
Excellent speck for the price and a very strong bike. I'm 18st 10 (253 ibs) and in my opinion this bike can handle this weight easily.
Great colour Black with like a Pearlesent White, Very good speck components, Shimano Deore derauillers and Sram Truvatic Crank.
Hydrolic Brakes and Discs. These will stop you instantly and do tare a little time to get used to or a flight over the bars could come along. These sqeak when covered in Muck and Water for the first few occasions, but when used this disapates.
Wheels are Alex DP17 rims, Strong, Maxxis Ingnitor Tyres Grip like hell.
Suntour XCR forks are ok for Cross Country riding, Not a great Jump fork, but hey Im no Jumper! (I think that if yoiu are lighter than me you could have some safe landings with these...

Good beginners mountain bike
Advantages: Well built, reasonable specification, good styling
Disadvantages: Gear shifters could be better.
...I have owned this mountain bike for several months now and apart from one of the covers falling of the front gear shifter ( easy to replace but it flew into a large hedge! ) it has been a pleasure to own.
The discs are very good for cable operated ones and the bike is well constructed and feels very robust but not unduly heavy.
It feels good over cross country but being a hardtail I would not recommend for serious downhill riding, it also rides well on the road and does not feel too cumbersome.
For the price its a good soild introduction into the world of mountain biking and with a big brand like Specialized you will not go far wrong.
I would recommend trying out for size at a local bike shop before buying to ensure correct sizing....

Specialized FSR XC 2007 Mountain bike
Advantages: Good mulit-tasking bike
Disadvantages: Only supplied with summer tyres and brake system is pain in the neck to service
...i have owned this bike now since january 2008, and my speedometer has recorded a milage of 1367.1. my speedometer was installed on the bike when i first got it. all in all i cant argue that this isnt a decent bit of kit, of course being a specialized it will be and over the last thousand miles which have been a mix of off roading fun and simple on road commuting i can say this bike is a good mulit tasker. its lock-out suspension makes a world of difference for when you need to climb a hill on the road and when your off road with the lock-out off, provided you have the correct inflation in the suspension its a strong firm ride and you can feel whats happening with your back wheel, slides you can feel loose ground surfaces you can feel, etc. now although i rate this bike to be very good, and worth the money like all cycles it has its bad...

A great entry level mountain bike
Advantages: Excellent 2.1 inch knobbly tyres, fantastic brakes
Disadvantages: Slightly heavier than similar spec bikes
...This is my first proper mountain bike. As such I was expecting to fall off it every two minutes but no, it has been a relatively gentle introduction in to the muddy and sometimes sideways world of mountainbiking. I have been riding it regularly for the past 4 or 5 months and it's been great.
I only got a few tips from my biking friends when I was choosing a bike - make sure you get the right size, get front suspension and get disk brakes (if I could afford them).
I bought 'last years model' and as a result got lots of features for not so much money (TOP TIP!) - if you can bear not to have the latest colour this is a great idea!
As a beginners mountain bike this is superb - the tyres are fat and grippy, the suspension takes a lot of the trauma out of rough, rocky, rooty and downhill sections, the frame feel solid and the brakes...

GT Aggressor XC.2
Advantages: Solid frame, very good brakes and smooth gears.
Disadvantages: Tyres are too chunky for road riding, if thats what your into.
...This bike is ideal for anybody looking to do any sort of offroading. It is well equipped with tektro auriga hydraulic disk brakes which are silky smooth and have plenty of braking power. The great thing about the GT is that it has a lock-out on the forks which makes riding on roads a bit easier. I find this useful as i commute on it. I chose a mountain bike because i prefered the riding position and the fact i can take it off-road if i so choose. The tyres that come on the bike are chunky enough for off roading but for road riding they have a fair bit of rolling resistance, i swapped mine over for a set of semi-slicks for road riding. This bike is well worth buying and i would reccomend it to anybody....

Specialized Roubaix- Rolls royce for bikes
Advantages: Very good looking bike with all the top components
Disadvantages: very high price. Handlebars arent very comfortable
...As specialized bikes go this needs little introduction. At first look it is a fantastically attractive bike with its red, black and white paint work. The version i own is the roubaix s-works SL which is definetly the best bike i have bought although i did have to pay £3000 for it. It comes with a very strong and sturdy Carbon frame and forks and weigh's about 17lb. The groupset is shimano dura-ace 10 speed with a specialized chainset. Ive done about 300 miles on mine and i still absolutly love it. I havent raced on it yet but am definetly going to road race it this year. I have changed the saddle for a Selle Italia saddle because the one that is supplied seems very stiff and when you cycle on long journeys i have found it to be very uncomfortable. The frame itself is very compact and has a very fashionable bend in it and you definetly...

GT Aggressor XC2
Advantages: Light, nice ride, good brakes
Disadvantages: Chain should have shield, brakes bit squeeky, only availible from halfords
...I brought this as my last bike, a saracen, died on me, it was really in a terrible mess! I brought this for £400 in Halfords, which is a pretty good deal for what you get. The technician was very helpful in there, otherwise I probably would have brought a bike from a Local Bike Store.
So, what do you get for your £400 here? Well, a light and strong bike, with hyrdaulics, 24 gears, thick tyres, nice wheels with strong spokes.
"GT Triple Triangle Aluminium frame with butted tubes
Suntour XCR 100mm travel fork with hydraulic rebound damping and on the fly lock-out
Tektro Auriga Comp hydraulic disc brakes 180/160mm rotors
Shimano Deore/ Alivio 24 speed gearing
Truvativ Isoflow chainset
Tioga Factory XC tyres
WTB SX24 rims
SDG Bel Air saddle
GT over size bar and stem"
All in all, a good bike for you money. So far, been so good...

Mountain Biking on Real Mountains
Advantages: A holiday of a lifetime, lovely people, lovely place, lots of fun
Disadvantages: none, even though I fell off my bike!
...!
The other holidays offered by Mountain Beach also look tremendously exciting. We kept in touch with the Mark and Stevie, and they took the 2-week Canadian holiday which they said was exhilarating. Jenny, our tour guide has also kept in touch which I think is lovely. They said we were great company for the start of their season and I think we were all really lucky in that we had exactly the right combination of personalities to make this a really special holiday. The Costa Rica holiday is our next must-do, as long as I get a bit more practice as this includes a lot of hiking, biking and even whitewater rafting through the jungle, all with a local guide. That holiday is slightly more expensive but looks well worth it. As long as I can get over my trepidation about creepy crawlies, especially big hairy spiders!!

The Blue Mountains
Advantages: everything
Disadvantages: nothing
...This next review is on my time on The Blue Mountains National Park, located in Sydney Australia. A few friends and I had decided to hire a van and take a tour of the national park, as we had been recommended it by several people we had met along the way. I am usually a fan of national parks; it gives you a chance to take in the scenic view, it gives you a chance to relax and unwind if you have had a busy week, and you even get to see some wildlife. It?s a great experience, which allows you to camp overnight, whilst also have a magnificent driving experience.
History & Park Info:
The park covers 267,954 hectares, which included several mountains and rivers along the trek. The highest point of the park is Mount Werong (1,215 m), and there are some breathtaking views from the top. The area became a national park in 1932, and ever since...

GT Aggressor XC
Advantages: Well built, good performace,
Disadvantages: None so far...
...I have recently bought this bike from Halfords and I am very pleased with it.
I originally had an old Raleigh bike, and after that broke on me after many years of use, I decided it was time to treat myself and get a new bike. I did abit of research and landed on this bike. I'm glad I did.
The bike looks like it means business. It has front suspension with a lock out facility, which is especially useful when climbing uphill. The Shimano Deore gears work well, and their isn't any annoying noises or squeaks so far. Even the hydraulic gears work silently.
The price did frighten me at first, but as the old saying goes, you get what you pay for I recommend buying a heavy duty lock for it aswell.
I am very pleased with this bike, so much so that I am hopefully going to compete in the London to Brighton Cycle RIde...
