I love my Spesch!

Advantages: Solid Sturdy Frame, great feel, great looks.
Disadvantages: Front Suspension isn't the greatest

...I've recently decided to get back into cycling. It took me a while to decide what sort of bike to go for, mountain bike, road bike, hybrid bike etc. I finally decided to go for a mountain bike as I plan to go off-road quite a bit as well as my commute to work and there are plenty of areas for me to try off-roading locally. My budget was quite small compared to what a lot of these bikes go for, I was only prepared to spend in the region of £300. I decided upon the Specialized Hardrock Sport and I have no complaints. Visually the bike looks great, when you have a closer look you can see that it is very well made, the frame and the welding look pretty sturdy to say the least. I know some of the components on the bike aren't the best and I was pre-warned about the front suspension being a bit suspect. The RST Gilla's aren...

Good beginners mountain bike

Advantages: Well built, reasonable specification, good styling
Disadvantages: Gear shifters could be better.

...I have owned this mountain bike for several months now and apart from one of the covers falling of the front gear shifter ( easy to replace but it flew into a large hedge! ) it has been a pleasure to own. The discs are very good for cable operated ones and the bike is well constructed and feels very robust but not unduly heavy. It feels good over cross country but being a hardtail I would not recommend for serious downhill riding, it also rides well on the road and does not feel too cumbersome. For the price its a good soild introduction into the world of mountain biking and with a big brand like Specialized you will not go far wrong. I would recommend trying out for size at a local bike shop before buying to ensure correct sizing....

A great entry level mountain bike

Advantages: Excellent 2.1 inch knobbly tyres, fantastic brakes
Disadvantages: Slightly heavier than similar spec bikes

...stop you when YOU want them to, not when they choose to. I found out the hard way though - fat, knobbly tyres and a sturdy frame can make the uphills very hard work, but the range of gears supplied do as much as they can to ease this for you. Getting fitter will probably help me too - I'm working on that! I can't talk technical about brake specs, suspension/forks, gear ratios but this is a fantastic entry level mountain bike for anyone wanting to get into the sport. I am so pleased with the bike, so psyched about cycling and I think choosing the right bike is partially to blame for this! ;-) I have already bought new SPD pedals - there's nothing wrong with the flat ones that come as standard - it is just the magpie-like draw of 'shiny things' and my quest to become queen of the mountains!!...

Island of Sporting Desire

Advantages: Three or four really great sporting games
Disadvantages: The need to 'calibrate' Wii Remote

...Let the games Begin... As a game which came free with the Wii console, 'Wii Sports' had little to prove - a title designed to show off the ingenious controls of the new machine, which at times meant that it felt like a bit of a glorified tech-demo. The sequel 'Wii Sports Resort' is tied in with the release of MotionPlus - the little white box that plugs into the bottom of the Wii controller, offering much more accuracy and finesse of controls - but does the game make the most of the new technology, or is it a missed opportunity? Set on the tropical island of 'Wuhu', Sports Resort allows you to compete in twelve different sporting disciplines, each one designed to push your skill and co-ordination to the max. In this review, I'll take a look at each of the sports, whilst briefly explaining and summarising my feelings towards them...

Diamond review  Wii Resort For Island Sports

Advantages: Some great mini-games that really show off the MotionPlus accessory
Disadvantages: Expensive to fully kit out two remotes. One or two less compelling mini-games

...INTRODUCTION Our Nintendo Wii has been hibernating under our TV, gathering dust since shortly after Christmas. The Wii party games made a brief appearance for the holidays and the shine of Wii Fit wore off after our New Year?s resolutions met with their usual success and longevity (i.e. none). It?s a fab console, but it?s very ease of ?pick up and play? makes it just as easy to ignore in favour of other pursuits. However, we were intrigued by the promise and novelty of the new Wii MotionPlus gadget, and when Wii Sports Resort (WSR) ? essentially Wii Sports 2 ? was announced, it was immediately added to our Wish List. As such, I was delighted when I received it for my birthday last week, and It has played a part in our nightly entertainment since. WHAT?S IN THE BOX WSR comes packaged with the game (in its own DVD...

Diamond review  Wii should go to the Sports Resort!...

Advantages: Good for all the family, Great fun, Entertaining, Something to do on a rainy day
Disadvantages: Expensive

...Wii Sports Resort One special day last year, I woke up unusually early - it was even still dark outside. I just couldn?t wait to get downstairs and go into the living room, but I couldn?t - not just yet anyway. It?s something we always do in my family, we must all go downstairs at the same time, together. Not every morning! Just on this particular special day, so I called my mum and dad - my two younger sisters were already up, practically buzzing with excitement at the top of the stairs - and together we all walked, or rather sprinted into the living room. That special day of course, was Christmas day! Woohay! So, you?re probably wondering I wanted to tell you about this, aren?t you? Well, keep reading and you?ll find out? I love surprises, don?t you? Not knowing that something?s going to happen and then it does (as long...

Enjoy 12 different sports on a tropical island!

Advantages: Great array of games, multi players, long playability
Disadvantages: None

...Enjoy 12 different sports on a tropical island. If Wii Sports is your kind of game then you will love the playability of Wii Sports Resort. THis game is one of the games that can be used with Wii Motion Plus which in my opinion enhances the game, makes your movements more realistic and ensures hours of fun for the whole family. This game is a for 7 years plus and I do find it very easy to navigate, set up and to play. Like I've said above it does remind me of the regular Wii Sports in that it includes golf and bowling and games similar to that which can be played by a number of players but in this game they have taken those platforms a step further and updated them as well as adding new fun games to play. In total their are 12 different games you can play. These are Swordplay, Wakeboarding, Frisbee, Archery, Basketball, Table Tennis...

Get active at Wii Sports Resort.......for a price!

Advantages: fun to play with family and friends, lots of game choices, some really fun games, multiplayer
Disadvantages: very expensive, some potentially boring games, not as well designed as it could be.

...Wii Sports Resort was my youngest brothers birthday present but for the purpose of research I decided to try it out myself. The game is for the Nintendo Wii and has a whopping recommended retail price of £49.99 although it is currently selling on Amazon for £39.99. This price includes the game and a ?Wii Motion Plus?. The Wii MotionPlus This is an accessory which attaches to your Wii Remote to enhance its motion sensing capabilities. It detects and reproduces your movements in the game, so whether you are playing basketball or doing some archery, every little movement you make is accurately portrayed in the game. The Wii MotionPlus is essential for game which is why it is included but its inclusion automatically makes the game a pricey one which is a bit of a shame. Whilst you only need one Wii Motion Plus for single...

Wii Sports Resort- Fun for the whole family

Advantages: fun forf whole family, lots of games, sensitive controls
Disadvantages: expensive extra devices needed for multi-player

...Since its release for retail purchase in 2006 the Nintendo Wii has enjoyed immense success. One of the key reasons for this is probably that it reaches a wider demographic than the majority of games consoles and can be enjoyed by people of all ages. Wii sports resort, released as a kind of improvement on wii sports was released in july of this year, and is no exception, providing entertainment for people of all ages, and has the potential of being enjoyed by the whole family. Wii sports is set on a island beach resort, and allows the playing of a number of different games, either as a single player or for up to four players. The game requires an additional device in the form of wii motion plus, which is a more sophisticated sensing device than the regular wii remote, and is able to pick up more complicated and sensitive movements when...

sports resort got me active!!!!

Advantages: great fun, great multiplayer capabilities
Disadvantages: possibly the price but other than that nothing!!!!

...Wii sports resort is the next step up from the original wii sports game, only not only is it a step up its a leap forward in the fun factor. With even more sports available its difficult to get bored of this game, and very easy to get addicted to it!!!! There are 12 sports available on the game:- swordplay Wakeboarding Frisbee Archery basketball table tennis golf bowling power cruising canoeing cycling airsports. So far my favourite sports have been the wakeboarding, the frisbee and the table tennis, although i have tried all of the sports on the game and i liked everyone of them. Most of the sports on the game can be played with up to four players and there are options for matches, tournaments and vs games on each of the sports. Wii sports resort has one other major difference to the original wii sports game. As well as having...
