Very good summary of and introduction to autism spectrum disorder

...I work with and have a fair bit of experience with individuals on the autism spectrum. I have a fairly good working knowledge of the area, but am very lacking in specifics and in day-to-day applications. This book is primarily aimed at parents, but I would recommend it to anyone with a profssional interest as well. The book offers a very good introduction to what autism spectrum disorders are, their prevalence and how diagnoses are made. It's packed with tips about where to go for extra information, be that for finacial, emotional or educational support for parents, or for more detailed accounts. I found te book very accessible. It manages to give a good grounding without seeming patronising. It doesn't assume any prior knowledge, nor does it over-simplify. A very wide range of topics is covered in the book. Are you on the autistic spectrum to?

Advantages: Wonderful, interesting highly intelligent people
Disadvantages: often misunderstood

...I am going to open my review with my very strong opinion that WE ARE ALL ON THE AUTISTIC SPECTRUM! This is a topic close to my heart. I have a child with learning and behavioural difficulties, many of which reflect ASD Autistic Spectrum Disorder. My daughter is a patient at the local children's centre that specialise in children with special needs. My daughter has been given a diagnosis of ADHD but they also want to look into ASD with her. I have chosen not to go down this route at the moment, not because I don't want my daughter to be labelled as Autistic (I have no issues with labels at all) but because I personally don't want to sit there again, talking for an hour or so about all my daughters negative point's. I personally find this really depressing and deflating, and find that this can impact my home life for the next few weeks...

place to stay!!!! excellent location

Advantages: very modern great if you like liverpools nightlife as only doors away.
Disadvantages: one bad thing was we found a pair of smelly mens socks under the sofa bed ha!!

...well me and my boyfriend often stay out in our home town liverpool just for a different experience, so when we chose to stay at the spectrum apartments i didnt think it would be such a enjoyable experience. firstly we booked online on booking.com and the apartment was only £59 for one night which i think was a great price. when we arrived at the apartments we were met by a young lady who was very down to earth and kept it short and sweet gave us our room key and off she went. just as she went into one of the apartment on the complex we forgot to ask about parking so we rang the number she gave us and within 2 minutes she was back with a password for us to get free parking. i thought this was great because on booking.com it said that parking was £10 for 24hours but as we found out when we arrived it was free. this is always a little...

As much fun as playing with Grandma!!

Advantages: decent graphics - good sound effects
Disadvantages: boring missions - third person perspective - very easy to complete

...I am a big fan of war games - as my list of X-Box games reviewed shows but I had on several visits to game pondered on purchasing Full Spectrum Warrior but decided against it. All doubts were cast aside when I saw it in the pre-owned bin for only £8 - alarm bells should have started ringing that the bin was only full of this game - this really should have told em something but it didn't - I could weep at my lack of common sense at times.
