SPEEDING

Advantages: you "feel" that you are getting to your destination faster
Disadvantages: death, injury, you often dont get there any quicker, people are ignorant about it

The man DIED three days later in hospital from the injuries received. If the driver had been reversing at an appropriate speed the man would most likely to have lived. Any driver knows how frustrating it can be to have to stick to the speed limits, especially when the cars around you are exceeding the limits. Being a learner driver I am very conscious of keeping to the speed limits but am constantly hassled by other drivers trying to speed me up or over take. There was no story and there was no running away from the cops every five minutes. ...Speed stars the fantastic Keanu Reeves and the wonderful Sandra Bullock, along with Dennis Hopper. The main part of the film is based around 'the bomb on the bus', but we also see a bomb on an elevator at the beginning. So basically, the entire film is based aroud a bomb on something! Harry and Jack (Keanu) are two cops who unfortunately are given the task of trying to save a lot of people on an elevator attached to a bomb, or the other way round, a bomb attached to an elevator. Anyway, they manage to save these people and come face-to-face with the bad guy (Dennis). This events in Harry being shot and everybody believing the bad guy is dead. But it's obvious something else, something interesting is going to happen as we are only 45 minuites into the film! Harry and Jack recieve an award for their bravery, whilst the bad guy...

...not paid on time. Jack must first find out what bus the bomb is on then once again risk his life to save numerous people including quick witted Annie (Sandra Bullock) who coincidentally on the bus after losing her licence for speeding! Speed is without doubt one of my favourite action movies of the 90?s much like Die Hard is my favourite action movie from the 80?s. Although Die Hard is far superior to Speed, Speed is still a fantastic film that still manages to glue you to the edge of your seat from start to finish. The opening sequence is great, it really manages to set the pace for the film and get you gripped right from the beginning. It doesn?t go on for too long which is what kills a lot of action movies, some of them can get too caught up in the action and all the special effects that it becomes overkill and they focus less...

Wierd little bits

...Don?t you just hate it when something goes wrong with the car and you haven?t got the right bit to sort it, or even attempt to sort it? Such is life that this happens to me all the time or at least it used too. I still get caught out occasionally with the big expensive bits but in general for screws and those funny-headed gizmos that keep some secret part of the engine running I?ve now got them sussed. About 18 months ago my old Rover had a problem with the distributor, and it turned out that it was a part called the igniter, which was held onto the distributor by 4 funny-headed screws.
