Advantages: A complete action movie - a cracking romp of a film
Disadvantages: The ending is fine, but could be better

...Any movie which takes itself serious;y (however good) will always have to watch itself be lampooned. Howevere "Speed" is above having to pay attention to movie purists who just want to rip a film apart on minutiae. We all know that in real life Keano Reeves would never be a bomb expert. We know coaches will find it hard to keep to 50mph and they certainly can't jump gaps in motorways over 20 feet. This is however fundamentally pointless, this does not matter. Speed is a complete action movie. It starts off in true Indiana Jones, James Bond style with an introduction that has nothing to do with the main story. This is not a 5 minute job like the films just mentioned - this lasts 15 minutes. (A great start!!!) Advantages: Great gameplay, great graphics

...spots' seem to be much the same thing. *** Overall *** Speed is a great movie that has stood the test of time very well, still as relevant today as it was upon its release in 1994 - maybe more so now. I bought my copy of this 2 disc special edition for £7.99 from a small shop in my town. I think this is fantastic value, especially considering all the special features, and hopefully it's going to be a great Christmas present for my housemate - I may borrow it back a couple more times too! The movie is a certificate 15, because it has strong violence and strong language, but there is no nudity or other rude stuff in this DVD. Personally I think a 12 certificate would be better, but I don't make up the rules!... Read review

Advantages: Great film
Disadvantages: Gets boring after watching it 10000 times

...Speed is a great film-need I say more! The main reason I like speed is because of the way the story pans out. Unlike most action films, there is just the one main bit. For example, in Speed instead of the train bit at the end, it would just end with the passengers being rescued. Instead there is the 'final battle' on top of a train (always good!) and Dennis Hopper gets his head knocked off by a light! The actors are great. I have always preferred Keanu Reaves as an action hero, just look at The Matrix and he succeeds again in this fast paced thrill a minute ride. Sandra Bullock has never been a personal favourite of mine and I believe this is her best fim to date and Dennis Hopper is just a legend and he is the perfect good cop turned bad guy. ...When I first saw the review for Speed, I thought, what a load of crap, you can't keep a film going for 2 hours about a bus which can't go below 60 miles per hour. So I watched with trepidation last monday night... Speed: CAST: Keanu Reeves, Sandra Bullock, Dennis Hopper, Certificate: 12. But after all that I really enjoyed this film (some of you may have noticed I seem to enjoy every film I watch, this isn't true, I just only write opinions on the ones I enjoy). It was really exciting and I really underestimated the storyline, they kept this film exciting for an hour and 20 minutes set in a bus which is travelling at just over 60mph. When in the centre of Los Angeles they face real problems keeping the speed up, with all the traffic, but the hero policeman Jack Traven (played by Keanu Reeves in his first major role) manages...
