SPEED CAMERAS - A MONEY MAKING SCAM?

Advantages: Preventing accidents? saving lives?

You have the big yellow static ones, which are clearly visible and include road markings to signal drivers to stick to the limit. These are the most common ones that are on most of the roads in the UK.
Then you also have the sly ones on the side of the road or in a layby which...

SPEEDING
Review of Views on Speeding by
ilusvm
Advantages: you "feel" that you are getting to your destination faster
Disadvantages: death, injury, you often dont get there any quicker, people are ignorant about it
...without any caution. The driver hit and elderly man who was waiting at the bus stop, the driver then sped of and my boyfriend looked after the man until the ambulance came. The man DIED three days later in hospital from the injuries received. If the driver had been reversing at an appropriate speed the man would most likely to have lived.
Any driver knows how frustrating it can be to have to stick to the speed limits, especially when the cars around you are exceeding the limits. Being a learner driver I am very conscious of keeping to the speed limits but am constantly hassled by other drivers trying to speed me up or over take. The main reason people speed is because they are impatient and want to get to their destination quicker. But does it really gain them anything by going that bit faster? Yesterday I was driving to my local Tesco...

I have a need . . . a need for speed
Review of Need for Speed Underground 2 (PS2) by
jonesri
Advantages: Great gameplay, great graphics
Disadvantages: addictive and potentially frustrating
...a good few attempts to win a race. The races become very challenging and if you are anything like me, you will have to win them before you can stop playing. The idea that improving your car will make it easier to win races is something of a false idea as the opposition cars improve similar to yours making it more difficult to win.
The controls needed to play this game can be a little confusing at first as there is different functionality between the right analogue stick and the cursor pad. However, this is something that is soon overcome and would not be a problem for someone used to using the analogue sticks. The most impressive thing about the controls in the game is that you can notice the difference between the handling of the car after different parts have been added. This is not just in terms of the cars top speed...

(very, very) Easy Disk Memory stick
Review of 128 MB Dabsvalue usb memory stick by
bad_bob00
Advantages: Excellent price - about 12p per megabyte, needs no drivers
Disadvantages: Need Windows XP
...I first saw the Dabs value Easy Disk memory stick when I was reading my latest Dabs Special Offers' email, and noticed that they were selling it for just £10. I jumped at the chance to own one, as did my brother. It was an amazing price to get 128MB of storage and on the Hi-Speed USB 2.0 format too.
I really needed some kind of portable storage as I go to college a few days a week on a computing and electronics course, and I needed to be able to take some of the assignments home. My work totalled up to about 10 MB, and I hated using floppy disks as I found them so unreliable, often they would need re-formatting or they would just stop working, so I just gave up on them. As the college computers don't have CD drive burners, I decided I would have to make the most out of the USB ports that they do offer. I realised by purchasing a USB...

Web 'n' Walk Stick Manager
Review of T-Mobile USB Stick by
Jo586
Advantages: Easy to install, Quick to connect and compact
Disadvantages: Can be slow at times
...midnight to midnight. You can either choose to top up using E-top up (card that comes with the USB) or an online top-up.
I chose the Web 'n' Walk Plus (24 months) and added this to the basket and then was asked to choose a device. They only previously had the USB modem (dongle) but they now have a USB modem stick which is what I chose. This stick is small and many of my friends have mistaken it for a lipstick or a lighter due to the size and the way it looks. It has a lid which keeps the connector safe. It is a shiny black with a pink line at the bottom and the top. As it is a stick and not a dongle it goes straight into the USB port and does not hang from a wire which is what the dongle does. The stick stays in securely and is small enough to not be annoying to you if you are using a laptop.
The price of the USB modem is free...

Review of Dell USB Memory Stick USB flash drive - 64 MB by
1st2thebar
Advantages: storage for all file types
Disadvantages: more memory capacity
...>>>A note to all that this is the Dell USB Memory Stick review... Not a 7 liner Franky and Benny review, which appears to have been in this reviews place yesterday. I hope members will re-rate according to content<<<
**DELL USB MEMORY STICK**

- A brief Dell founder summary-
Dell was founded by Michael Dell in 1984 and was originally named 'PC limited'. At that time IBM was the main specialists in computer products and components worldwide. The Need For Speed
Review of Speed Cameras by
Kkaos
Advantages: They promote safety and do slow some people, even if only temporarily
Disadvantages: They don't catch the real speeders, cause they know where they are and slow for the camera
....
For example, although I usually stick strictly to 30mph limits, I admit to driving between 30-40mph on the road that my house is on which is a 30 limit on the edge of a town. The houses are set back off the road with a wide verge, so you can see dangers well before you are on top of them. However, I was amazed at the surprise of 2 drivers when they had an accident outside our house which completely wrote off both vehicles... a four wheel drive monster a | | |
