...Speedball 2 is a driving game set in the year 2326. Civil War has erupted, rival gangs have formed an ultra-violent street sport league called Speedball 2 to settle their disputes. The sport has no rules or regulations, and so is very dangerous. 10 years later, Speedball has become the national sport and the teams are now professional and sponsored by well-know brands. 2 teams face each other in bloody battles for a steel ball, 9 on 9 in an all-out rush on the opponents goal. The winner of all the matches secures supremacy over the city. The graphics are pretty standard, not much to talk about there, you've probably seen better elsewhere. ...Having never heard of Speedball 1 i was given this game as a christmas present so just to let you know i had no hand in the purchase decision. I originally found this game a bit weird but when i got reound to it was massively addicted! Speedball was based on a violent futuristic cyberpunk sport which had elements of ice hockey and american football and give points to violent play aswell as scoring goals! Nice. You are given the task as playing as a new team in the speedball second division, Brutal Deluxe. You control one player at a time, eg if you run with the ball and then pass, your control goes onto the receiver, so in theory you control the whole team but only one player at a time. You are surrounded in an arean similar to a five a side cage and allowed to basically do anything you want, the more violent the better, but...

Brutal Deluxe - Gaming Heaven!

Advantages: Immense gameplay and longevity make this the best game ever!
Disadvantages: The gormless who prefer flashy graphics over immense gameplay might not be satisfied.

...SPEEDBALL 2 I've been sitting here, for a couple of days now, trying to devise a way to start this review on the violent futuristic sport simulation known as Speedball 2. As old as the hills, fairly redundant due to the deletion of the machine it could be played on (the mighty, mighty Amiga 500) and looking kind of basic in it's 2-D top down view compared to the three-dimensional graphical extravaganzas most modern games have on offer - the words "best game ever" seems a somewhat ridiculous opening statement for the masses to contend with. great for boxing!!

...when i started boxing training at a serious level i didnt know what products to purchase, i tried all of the bags at my local club and still wasnt satisfied. That was until i used the BBE Speedball, with its great look and design. This speedball was definately my ideal choice with a great look and excellent exterior leather design. Nice and compact too, the ball is padded with shock absorbant foam to generously decrease the risk of injury to hands and wrists, making your training more comfortable, reliable and fun. The bag is also shaped in a way for all combinations of punches, to improve on movement and coordination, with a weight design to stop too much swing. Its definately worth the small cost!! I would definately recommend this product too anyone looking for training off this sort....

...Speedball 2 Introduction Oh boy. I first came across this game on the gameboy and really loved it then. When I found out it was on the Amiga too I couldn't believe it. Having had an Amiga from a relatively early age, until I switched to consol gaming when the N64 came out I tend to see all Amiga games with rose tinted glasses, but truly this is one of the best. In colour and with multi player options this game just couldn't get any better. From the people who brought us such games as chaos engine, the bitmap brothers really knew how to make a great game. This one is another for lovers of ultra violence (although maybe by today's standards this isn't that violent). Maximum violence from baroque

...Speedball 2100 Set in the future, Speedball is a sports game and is like a cross between mindless violence, football, American football, Ice Hockey and Rugby. In fact, you name a contact sport and there is probably a piece of it in here. It was originally a smash on the Amiga and everyone was playing it. The Bitmap brothers (its creators) had a few other hits around at the time of similar success rates. Gods and Chaos Engine came from the same stable. It was the early 90s and many modern gamers were cutting their teeth on these classics. How refreshing it was to see the game re-released on the Playstation a year ago! ...Speedball 2100 is a game that is available for the Playstation. I believe that previously two more had been released, but this was a long time ago on the Amiga, where the old format of using tapes to play games was used. Speedball is a fast action sports game that is set 100 years in the future, so naturally you would expect the technology to have advanced and evolved by then. The game starts with an animation telling you the main background and outline of the game. It is from this that you can discover that there is no war or fighting, but there is Speedball!
