MAC Select SPF 15 - worth it for the shade!
Review of MAC Select SPF 15 Foundation by
floodzo81
Advantages: selection of shades; coverage; ease of blending
Disadvantages: awkward pouring; more expensive than average
...Until recently, I'd sworn by L'oreal foundations, and found these to sit well and last the day. However, as is the case with a lot of brands, the shades were always just a touch too light or too dark. I was drawn to Mac because of the range of shades on offer.
Perhaps it was just my experience, but I found the lady who served me in-store to be refreshingly blunt. Instead of the usual false air one encounters at cosmetic stands, she was extremely professional, while also flat-out telling me what didn't suit my skin tone, and also which type of foundation I should go for, based on my borderline oily skin. Again, I'm not sure if this was unique to the store I visited, but I found it extremely refreshing!
Select SPF 15 comes in a 30ml bottle, and unlike the testers, doesn't have a pump at the top. I found this quite cumbersome, as its...

The Sanctuary Spa Hand Cream SPF 15
Review of The Sanctuary Moisturising Hand Cream SPF15 by
tiff7898
Advantages: contains sunscreens
Disadvantages: Leaves a sticky resisdue on your skin
...I have to say I'v never written a negative review before but in all honesty I thought that the price I paid for this hand cream was extremely high!
The cream is infact non greasy i'l give it that but i found it too heavy to actually feel like it was nourishing my hands. i felt it left my skin sticky, generally i use hand cream on both my hands and feet but felt it was not suitable for either. It is a light lotion as it claims but i felt that it spread to thin and left a sticky residue on my skin.
It has a lovely frangrance to it, a bit like talc so smells very clean but comes out of the tube a bit gunkish! Its a sort of grey/white colour, quite thick.
I do like the fact that it is of an spf rating of 15! I find it hard to find a hand cream with a decent level of sun protection in it but it also claims an anti-oxident white tea...

Botanics Pore Perfecting Moisture Lotion SPF15
Review of Boots Botanics Pore Perfecting Day Moisture Lotion SPF15 by
leebee81
Advantages: SPF, cost-effective
Disadvantages: Dodgy cap, strange texture
...masks. Personally, while i like the matte feeling it provides when the lotion has been absorbed, it has a nasty habit of balling up and coming off if I apply too much lotion - ie, instead of sinking into my skin, it sits on top. Using less product and applying more evenly has rectified some of this.
I do like the SPF included, 15+ is a decent enough number for daytime use, even in Australia. Lets face it, if I was going to be outside in the sun all day I would apply a seperate 30+ anyway, so 15+ is sufficiant for spending most of my day in an airconditioned office.
Overall, I like this moisturiser. Its not too heavy, it doesnt irritate my skin, and if I apply it correctly it has a lovely texture and goes a long way. Im not sure if I will repurchase the item, but I will be using up the tube. It retails for just under £5 at boots, which...

Murad Correcting Moisturiser SPF15
Review of Murad Correcting Moisturiser SPF15 by
Sarahhhx
Advantages: It reduces redness
Disadvantages: Nothing its amazing
...My face has always been "rosy" and becomes more so with exposure to the elements, which doesn't help because I spend a lot of time outdoors. I started using this moisturizer last summer to soothe my skin before and after a day in the sun. I love that it includes an SPF! Now that it's winter, I love it even more. The cold temperatures and winds usually turn my face red and puffy to the point of stinging, but now when I get in I put on the Correcting Moisturizer to quickly calm my irritated skin. And my skin isn't flaky and dry anymore either! It's soft and healthy looking!
This is defaintly great for For Rosacea-like redness and concerns.
It Neutralizes and protects dry, irritated skin by minimising redness with colour correcting tint and shielding against sun irritation. My beuatician told me that Goji Berry Extract...

Kiehl's SPF15 Lip Balm
Review of Kiehls Lip Balm 1 by
cerysm
Advantages: Contains SPF15, and has good packaging.
Disadvantages: Isn't moisturising enough for me in the long-term.
...First of all, I think that Kiehl's is quite a hard brand to get hold of (at least where I live). This lip balm was on my wishlist for years, as I couldn't find a stockist in my area. Luckily I was eventually sent one for free, to test.
The white squeezy tube is very plain looking. It is quite thin, just over 10cm long (it contains 15ml of product), and covered with writing. On the front, underneath the Kiehl's logo and product title is a description of the product. It states that the "...formula contains soothing ingredients and moisturizing oils to provide relief to dry, parched lips." It also mentions that the SPF15 provides UVA and UVB protection (which is great), and gives instructions for applying the product. The back of the tube contains advice on using the product, and the ingredients list.
The packaging is great and very...

A super splash of orange for smashing skin
Review of The Body Shop SPF15 Vitamin C Moisturiser by
funphobic2
Advantages: light, asborbed easily, SPF factor 15, smells of oranges
Disadvantages: smells of oranges, the price
...I’m the kind of girl that likes tomato ketchup, but not tomatoes. The same goes for oranges; I love orange juice, but not the actual orange. To this day, I still don’t know why that is! So when it came to trying The Body Shop’s Vitamin C SPF moisture cream I was a little apprehensive to say the least.
Obviously with my background working at The Body Shop I was well aware of just how hard it was to sell the Vitamin C range, (not for me, I’m an excellent sales person!) because it’s so expensive. But, there is a reason why it’s so expensive…..it’s so good!
***What makes it so good?***
Well, first and foremost it offers a sun protection of UVA and UVB rays, factor of 15, which is the minimum amount health officials recommend. Furthermore Vitamin C is an excellent antioxidant, which protects your skin from harmful free radicals...
