Spf 50+ 5 Star Protection, 5 Stars from me!
Review of Boots Soltan Facial Sun Cream for Sensitive Skin by
Miss_R
Advantages: Too many it wouldnt let me list them all! See review :)
Disadvantages: None!
...This is factor 50+ but that wasnt in the list of options so ignore the spf 30 i had to put!
Since noticing a few dehydration lines around my eyes recently, im becoming more and more concerned about the aging process and preventative measures i can take now!
I also care about general sun damage, especially with having fair skin, which is why i have purchased this product and usually stick to self-tan rather than risk burning.
As we know, damage is due to exposure to the UV radiation from the sun in the form of UVA and UVB. UVA is what affects the elastin in the skin and leads to wrinkles and skin ageing. It penetrates the skin more deeply than UVB (even through glass windows) UVA protection helps protect from skin aging. Remember - UVA - AGING
UVB causes sunburn, which can lead to melanoma and other types of skin cancer. UVB...

Boots Soltan Sun Care Lotion - SPF50+
Review of Boots Soltan Suncare Lotion by
liz1102
Advantages: High protection and mostly reliable
Disadvantages: Sometimes hard to get just the right amount
...I spent 6 weeks in California this June and July, so went prepared with lots of sun cream as I'm known to burn easily - especially my face, shoulders, and feet. I chose SPF 50+ from the Boots Soltan range, as it was cheaper than the same SPF in other brands (on BOGOFF at the time) and offered the highest SPF available. I also took Boots Soltan After sun with me, but that's a separate review.
~ - ~ Soltan ~ - ~
Soltan is the Boots own brand sun cream and as such is only available from Boots stores. The sun protection products are in yellow/orange bottles and the after sun range is in a 'cooling' blue color. There are both Lotions and Sprays available, and also several variations of the basic sun cream - kids, baby, wasp and insect repellent, extra tanning, and some others. I used the original kind.
The lotion comes in 200ml...

Happy and protected
Review of L'Oreal Solar Expertise Active Anti Wrinkle Anti Brown Spot Sun Cream SPF50 by
lillamarta
Advantages: A high protection, versatile, non-barrier sunblock cream
Disadvantages: Price, but it's worth it
...Introduction
I bought this product last December as I needed appropriate UV protection while using Elemis Tri-Enzyme Facial Wash (see my earlier review) as my twice daily anti-bacterial and biological exfoliator routine.
Why SPF 50+?
The Elemis Resurfacing Facial Wash works by removing a layer of dead skin cells of your skin, so your new, young cells become exposed on the surface. You don't want pollution, UV rays and other environmental hazards damage these young cells straight away. That's why Elemis recommends an at least 30 SPF sun block cream.
Having spent two weeks in East Africa last October and beginning of November, for the first time in my life I saw brown spots appearing on the back of my hand. I did use a 30+ suncream on my skin and face during the holidays, so it was quite a shocking experience as I...

Avon Bronze Kids waterproof Sun Lotion Factor 50
Review of Avon Bronze Kids' Waterproof Sun Lotion SPF 50 by
goosey2
Advantages: Don't have to keep re-applying, waterproof, factor 50
Disadvantages: Quite thick so hard to rub in and tube could be bigger!
...Seen as it's July and were having a `heat wave'!! it;s even more important to protect our kids from the sun.
I have, like most parents, tried and tested numerous sun creams, from the really, really expensive to the well, not so expensive that you buy on holiday cos youv'e run out!!. The only, and I mean only, one that I have found to do the job of protecting my kids is the Avon `Bronze Kids', Sun Lotion. It's brilliant, not only is it factor 50, but it is fully waterproof, which I can deffinately vouch for as I had a `splodge' of it on my arm, and when getting in the shower about 2 hours later, couldn't remember what this was and could not get it off, I thought I had caught some skin disease!!.
I am so confident that this works that I only have to apply it once to both my children when they are playing in the garden all day...

Remember to put on your sun protection cream
Review of Shiseido Ultimate Sun Protection Face Cream SPF 50 PA+++ by
jenmil
Advantages: Ligth, non greasy and easy to apply.
Disadvantages: Slightly expensive
...It is a common belief that you only apply sun protection on hot, sunny days. It is not totally true. Sun protection cream is important as long as there is daylight.
Shiseido Ultimate Sun Protection Face cream with an SPF of 50 may seems crazy to some but it does works. Shiseido which is a Japanese branded skin care product have been around for many years and have a good reputation for their research and development.
As a person who tan easily, the Shiseido sun protection cream with its SPF 50 have given me the protection against sun burnt and pigmentation.
The white cream is not very oily and is very easy to apply. It smoothen evenly and you do not need much to cover the whole face.
I use it over my moisturiser and under my foundation. It lasted the whole day and I do not have to replenish it.
The beauty of this sun protection...

Radiant, glowing, youthful skin for only £7.50
Review of Olay Complete Care Multi-Radiance SPF 15 by
Christabelb
Advantages: An excellent face cream without the expensive price tag
Disadvantages: I wish it came a in bigger size!
...Lauder's Daywear Plus Face Moisturiser cream (my daily moisturiser of choice before Olay), I couldn't justify the price tag for a product that ran out so quickly. Daily moisturiser for me only lasts about 2 months before I have to replace it.
Olay's Complete Care Multi-Radiance Daily Iluminating UV fluid is a mouthful of a product name but it reaps it's own rewards because it does exactly what it is labelled to do. This is my £7.50 answer to top quality skincare. It's key benefits are:
1. It smells yummy from the Mandarin Extract
2. It is lighter on my slightly sensitive skin and is kinder to my eyes (Estee Lauder's Daywear Plus sometimes caused my eyes to water if the cream got too near my eye area)
3. It has SPF 15 which is highly effective in preventing premature ageing from the sun
4. It makes your skin glow and look vibrant...

MAC Select SPF 15 - worth it for the shade!
Review of MAC Select SPF 15 Foundation by
floodzo81
Advantages: selection of shades; coverage; ease of blending
Disadvantages: awkward pouring; more expensive than average
...Until recently, I'd sworn by L'oreal foundations, and found these to sit well and last the day. However, as is the case with a lot of brands, the shades were always just a touch too light or too dark. I was drawn to Mac because of the range of shades on offer.
Perhaps it was just my experience, but I found the lady who served me in-store to be refreshingly blunt. Instead of the usual false air one encounters at cosmetic stands, she was extremely professional, while also flat-out telling me what didn't suit my skin tone, and also which type of foundation I should go for, based on my borderline oily skin. Again, I'm not sure if this was unique to the store I visited, but I found it extremely refreshing!
Select SPF 15 comes in a 30ml bottle, and unlike the testers, doesn't have a pump at the top. I found this quite cumbersome, as its...

The Sanctuary Spa Hand Cream SPF 15
Review of The Sanctuary Moisturising Hand Cream SPF15 by
tiff7898
Advantages: contains sunscreens
Disadvantages: Leaves a sticky resisdue on your skin
...I have to say I'v never written a negative review before but in all honesty I thought that the price I paid for this hand cream was extremely high!
The cream is infact non greasy i'l give it that but i found it too heavy to actually feel like it was nourishing my hands. i felt it left my skin sticky, generally i use hand cream on both my hands and feet but felt it was not suitable for either. It is a light lotion as it claims but i felt that it spread to thin and left a sticky residue on my skin.
It has a lovely frangrance to it, a bit like talc so smells very clean but comes out of the tube a bit gunkish! Its a sort of grey/white colour, quite thick.
I do like the fact that it is of an spf rating of 15! I find it hard to find a hand cream with a decent level of sun protection in it but it also claims an anti-oxident white tea...

Botanics Pore Perfecting Moisture Lotion SPF15
Review of Boots Botanics Pore Perfecting Day Moisture Lotion SPF15 by
leebee81
Advantages: SPF, cost-effective
Disadvantages: Dodgy cap, strange texture
.... I have found, so use about half what you think you need. Once it goes on your skin it spreads thin and if you apply too much it doesnt sink in right. The correct amount will be absorbed quite quickly. It is a creamy warm white in colour, and it has a sweetish botanical scent, although no frangrance is listed.
The product claims it shydrates and soothes skin, which I would agree with. Apparantley the Rosemary in this helps "clear and prevent blemishes", something which Im not a 100% sure about. To be honest, I don't think a moisturiser can help prevent blemishes in the first place, but as I was looking for a lightweight moisturiser with SPF I cant really comment.
The other claim is that the lotion contains "oil absorbing powders" to reduce shine. This would be the Kaolin, a fancy name for the clay they use in clay and mud based...

Murad Correcting Moisturiser SPF15
Review of Murad Correcting Moisturiser SPF15 by
Sarahhhx
Advantages: It reduces redness
Disadvantages: Nothing its amazing
...My face has always been "rosy" and becomes more so with exposure to the elements, which doesn't help because I spend a lot of time outdoors. I started using this moisturizer last summer to soothe my skin before and after a day in the sun. I love that it includes an SPF! Now that it's winter, I love it even more. The cold temperatures and winds usually turn my face red and puffy to the point of stinging, but now when I get in I put on the Correcting Moisturizer to quickly calm my irritated skin. And my skin isn't flaky and dry anymore either! It's soft and healthy looking!
This is defaintly great for For Rosacea-like redness and concerns.
It Neutralizes and protects dry, irritated skin by minimising redness with colour correcting tint and shielding against sun irritation. My beuatician told me that Goji Berry Extract...
