I've finally found a good moisturiser WITH an SPF
Review of Clearasil Total Control Daily Mattifying Moisturiser by
tia_bailey
Advantages: SPF12, reduces shine, moisturises
Disadvantages: skin can begin to look oily again slightly sooner than i would like
...As anyone who’s read some of my previous opinions will know, I’ve spent ages looking for a good moisturiser, with an SPF, that I can wear during the day, and so far, have been unsuccessful. So, when I saw the adverts for the new Clearasil Total Control range, I decided to give their moisturiser a go.
The moisturiser is called, ‘Clearasil Total Control Daily Mattifying Moisturiser’, and is part of the new Clearasil Total Control range, which also includes Foaming Cleansing Cloths, Deep Pore Cleanser, Gentle Cleansing Wipes, and Daily Skin Perfecting Treatment. The idea of this new range of products is to meet the 5 most important needs of healthy looking, beautifully clear skin, by helping to prevent blemishes, reducing shine, evening skin tone, helping to protect from the sun, and moisturising.
The moisturiser comes packaged...

Murad Correcting Moisturiser SPF15
Review of Murad Correcting Moisturiser SPF15 by
Sarahhhx
Advantages: It reduces redness
Disadvantages: Nothing its amazing
...My face has always been "rosy" and becomes more so with exposure to the elements, which doesn't help because I spend a lot of time outdoors. I started using this moisturizer last summer to soothe my skin before and after a day in the sun. I love that it includes an SPF! Now that it's winter, I love it even more. The cold temperatures and winds usually turn my face red and puffy to the point of stinging, but now when I get in I put on the Correcting Moisturizer to quickly calm my irritated skin. And my skin isn't flaky and dry anymore either! It's soft and healthy looking!
This is defaintly great for For Rosacea-like redness and concerns.
It Neutralizes and protects dry, irritated skin by minimising redness with colour correcting tint and shielding against sun irritation. My beuatician told me that Goji Berry Extract...

The Sanctuary Spa Hand Cream SPF 15
Review of The Sanctuary Moisturising Hand Cream SPF15 by
tiff7898
Advantages: contains sunscreens
Disadvantages: Leaves a sticky resisdue on your skin
...I have to say I'v never written a negative review before but in all honesty I thought that the price I paid for this hand cream was extremely high!
The cream is infact non greasy i'l give it that but i found it too heavy to actually feel like it was nourishing my hands. i felt it left my skin sticky, generally i use hand cream on both my hands and feet but felt it was not suitable for either. It is a light lotion as it claims but i felt that it spread to thin and left a sticky residue on my skin.
It has a lovely frangrance to it, a bit like talc so smells very clean but comes out of the tube a bit gunkish! Its a sort of grey/white colour, quite thick.
I do like the fact that it is of an spf rating of 15! I find it hard to find a hand cream with a decent level of sun protection in it but it also claims an anti-oxident white tea...

Botanics Pore Perfecting Moisture Lotion SPF15
Review of Boots Botanics Pore Perfecting Day Moisture Lotion SPF15 by
leebee81
Advantages: SPF, cost-effective
Disadvantages: Dodgy cap, strange texture
.... I have found, so use about half what you think you need. Once it goes on your skin it spreads thin and if you apply too much it doesnt sink in right. The correct amount will be absorbed quite quickly. It is a creamy warm white in colour, and it has a sweetish botanical scent, although no frangrance is listed.
The product claims it shydrates and soothes skin, which I would agree with. Apparantley the Rosemary in this helps "clear and prevent blemishes", something which Im not a 100% sure about. To be honest, I don't think a moisturiser can help prevent blemishes in the first place, but as I was looking for a lightweight moisturiser with SPF I cant really comment.
The other claim is that the lotion contains "oil absorbing powders" to reduce shine. This would be the Kaolin, a fancy name for the clay they use in clay and mud based...

If only it had an SPF!
Review of Clearasil Total Control Daily Mattifying Moisturiser by
kjane2006
Advantages: Cooling and some oil absorbtion
Disadvantages: No sun protection
...wipping until slightly later in the afternoon, but it was not so amazing that it kept the oil away all day or anything like that.
My only real beef with the moisturiser and the reason I haven't re-purchased it is that it has no SPF protection. I'm very fair skinned so I like to get some sun protection with my moisturiser. When it got sunny this year I started wearing a moisturiser with SPF and then using some of the Clearisil moisturiser on my brow overtop to catch some of the oil while still protecting me from the sun. But I have to say I'm not big on applying loads of products so I don't think I'll continue doing this once my two tubes have run out....

Boots Cucumber Moisturising Cream
Review of Boots Cucumber Moisturising Cream by
jeszikca
Advantages: Cheap, keeps skin soft and hydrated, smells lovely
Disadvantages: You might hate the smell, no SPF
...the moisturiser, which was really impressive as I normally need reapply moisturiser and make-up twice a day.
The only downside to this moisturiser is that it contains no SPF, so you need an extra sunscreen. Some people think you don't need one in winter, but you do! If you start using one when you're young, your skin will thank you for it when you're older.
Don't forget that a moisturiser with SPF won't be enough protection in the summer, and that make-up with SPF won't give you any protection unless you apply it in thick layers all over your face. I use a sunscreen on top of moisturiser, everyday anyway, so I don't find it too much of a problem, but if you're lazy, you might want to find a moisturiser that contains sunscreen.
However, it does contain vitamins that apparently protect against the environment - it doesn't elaborate on that, so...
