Before you think this is going to be another opinion slagging them off, it is not. I am a fan and proud of it. But why is it important for them to stay together as a group? ...Let me get one thing straight, folks: I'm NOT going to claim that "Spice World" is a great movie. This no-brainer flick starring the Spice Girls in a goofy movie musical is what it is: a cute, harmless 90-minute movie for their fans, nothing more. Obviously, if you can't stand the Spice Girls, then there's no point in bothering with this picture (Roger Ebert amusingly said in his review of "Spice World" that the filmmakers must've been thinking, "Let's take 'A Hard Day's Night' and make it as bad as we can"--c'mon Rog, that's mean!). But if you're like me, and think that Ginger, Scary, Sporty, Baby & Posh AND their music have a real goofy charm about them like I said, they're a guilty pleasure of mine, then watching "Spice World" will make for an amusing hour and a half that won't cause you any permanent brain damage. ...The Spice Girls have had 9 UK number 1 singles and have achieved world domination. Their video 'live at Wembley' contains all their hits and includes an interview with the girls just before the main feature. The show is amazing and just proves that the girls can really sing live, the costumes and scenery are fantastic and the video is very well produced. ...The Spice Girls have come to epitomise everytthing that is wrong in the music industry. They are a group of individuals selected purely on the basis of their looks rather than any talent. None of the Spice Girls play any instruments, or write lyrics (A quick look in the single "2 Become One" tells me it took 7 people to write!!) Everytime I turn on the television or the radio I am confronted with the Spice Girls or a similar group being hailed as "Great Band" which they are quite obviously not. They exist solely to take money from young teenagers and put it into the pockets of their record label. There is no creativity in anything the Spice Girls have released, they rely on tried and trusted formulae in the same way Stock Aitkin and Waterman did in the 1980s.... Read review

...This was the girls’ 2nd Christmas number one and the last in their run of six number ones. It’s a gorgeous, slinky, slow number, that is full of traditional Spice Girl ‘girl power’ lyrics. This CD, part of a two CD set, also has your average mix (SoulShock & Karlin Remix) and the brilliant B-side 'Outer Space Girls' which unlike a lot of B-sides, is catchy and unforgettable. It is also supposed to come with an 'exclusive Spice Girls Playstation postcard' - as when this was released their game had just been released. However, seing as this single is three years old, if you are to find it unsealed (which it probably will be) in a record shop, the card could have fallen out along time ago. When I bought CD1 and CD2 a few months ago, I got one in CD2 but not this CD, although you aren't missing out on much.... Read review

...I don't tend to buy CD albums which consist of tracks from just one artist. Now I think about it, I can't remember the last time I bought a compilation album either (I really need to sort out my CD collection!). My Dad has asked me if there were any CDs I would like for Christmas, but I answered him with a straight forward 'no'. Although, this was a bit of a fib. I didn't want to ask for anything that Christmas, everything was to be a surprise! Deep down though, I was hoping for one album. This was a special album, consisting of both old and new tracks, a CD full of memories good and bad. If I wanted any album that year, it was to be the all-new Spice Girls Greatest Hits album! ...Since the Spice Girls fist burst on to the scene in July 1996 they have sent shockwaves throughout the music world and indeed the world! No other band since the Beetles have caused such a sensation, they have changed the face of pop music and the way that girl groups are seen forever. ...When one thinks of all the things you like and of those narrow them down to the items you shouldn’t really like I come up with a few items. Abba, Shawaddy Waddy etc rate highly in this list, but of all these items, the one I really hate to admit to liking is the Spice Girls!!! Introduction With the success of many boy bands in England such as Take That, East 17, Boyzone etc, the music industry were crying out for a female equivalent. So in attempt to compete with these boys bands and perhaps take a portion of the pie, someone decided to hold auditions.
