The hidden treasure within the spices...
Review of The Mistress Of Spices (Rental) (DVD) by  GoFigure

Advantages: read on...
Disadvantages: none

...-to-earth performance, a bigger-than-life-I’m-all-American-apple-pie-type performance than Aishwarya, but that is in keeping with his character... however, as his attraction to Tilo turns into love, he displays a more tender side, one that most men might consider weak. But hey, that’s what a true romance is all about! We women love to see you men squirm... oops... now you’ve glimpsed my ‘evil’ label! This said, the Mistress of Spices is not for everyone. If all you want is a nice soppy romance, then I would suggest you visit the Mills & Boon website for something suitably saccharine. If you want romance and are open-minded and willing to delve into the minds of characters that Western society has labelled ‘minority’, then there is a lot to be learned here, and you will be rewarded for your time.... Mills & Boon might not be what you think it is
Review of Mills & Boon by  KatherineA

Advantages: Easy to read and entertaining stories
Disadvantages: Too much choice

...: http://www.eharlequin.com 4) Mills & Boon has "opened the bedroom door" and publishes sensual romances (the red covers) & passionate modern romances (the blue covers). More traditional reads are under the orange covers. M&B also publish medical romances (green covers) and historical romances (purple covers). NB Cover colours relate to the paperback editions. 5) Harlequin has just announced its intention to publish a new imprint called SPICE in 2005 which will be women's erotica... watch this space Mills & Boons are generally available in WH Smiths and Sainsburys and other book shops, or via their own reader service or from online bookstores such as Amazon. Prices are £2.95 for contemporary set romances and £3.25 for historicals, which are slightly longer books. I always think of them in relation to a glossy women's magazine... Read review

Quarry Bank Mill
Review of Quarry Bank Mill & Styal Country Park by  blissman70

Advantages: Interesting and educational
Disadvantages: none

...Brief history…. Quarry bank mill has one of the only working water mill left in Britain. It is situated in the beautiful village of Styal, on the banks of the River Bollin The Mill was built by Samuel Greg in 1784, with the giant metal water wheel being built between 1816 and 1820. The original wheel broke in 1904 and was replaced years later by another iron wheel to make the Mill the proud owner of the last remaining working water wheel in Europe. The mill was used for the 'spinning' of cotton (and is still used for that purpose today but more for visitors to see rather than commercial use), it was soon the largest cotton producing factory in its time. Weaving was introduced to the Mill in 1834 by Robert Greg, (son of Samuel), so as to keep up with the revolution. Samual Greg was an unusually kind employer for the time... Read review

Setting my sites on PageMill
Review of Adobe PageMill 3.0 Licence by  Kukana

Advantages: Simple for beginners to use, easy to understand, plenty of features
Disadvantages: Not for flashy, animated web-sites, no longer available in shops

.... It was too limited, apparently. So my husband kindly brought me home an old version of FrontPage Express, a more complex version which is usually quite expensive, and which I used for a while, finding it quite similar to Word. We registered the site at Geocities, I learned how to upload pages (very easy at Geocities) and my site was launched. About a year later, I was finding that FrontPage Express too was a bit buggy, and people told me that it put in lots of extra HTML which made the pages difficult to see in some browsers. The family also tended to be a bit anti-Microsoft, feeling that Bill Gates, clever bod though he undoubtedly is, had already earned far more than anybody should earn in a lifetime, and was in danger of taking over the world. So when I was given a CD with a free version of Adobe PageMill (I forget if it came... Read review

Quarry Bank Mill, Styal, Cheshire
Review of Quarry Bank Mill & Styal Country Park by  Shekera

Advantages: Loads to keep you interested and a lot to learn.
Disadvantages: Probably too much to take in during one trip - most definately need to visit more than once.

...Quarry Bank Mill is a National Trust property which is located 2 miles south of Manchester Airport, Junctions 5 or 6 of the M56 and is well worth a visit – it is a history lesson which for once, is not boring, even for children. There is so much to learn from just on visit. Quarry Bank Mill was founded in 1784 by Samuel Greg, who at the time was a young textile merchant who chose the site for many reasons, one of which was for its location as it was near to the River Bollin and had easy access to the Bridgewater Canal, which went through Liverpool. Quarry Bank Mill was staffed by orphan children who lived in the Apprentice House, which you can see as part of the Museum. Through his mill, Samuel Greg built a local community for his workers, which became known as Styal, building local amenities for his staff, such as a church... Read review

Crabble Corn Mill
Review of Crabble Corn Mill, Dover by  Jamie73

Advantages: An educational/historical attraction, cheap entrance
Disadvantages: None

...Living in the port town of Dover and just on the outskirts of the town is the village of River. Here you will find the Crabble Corn Mill. The Mill. The structure we see today visiting was constructed in 1812 along side an existing mill which was later demolished. Its said that there has always been a mill on this site since early records state that in 1227 Henry III granted a charter to the nearby abbey. Cost. Admission to the Mill is 4 pound for adults and 3 pounds for children and OAPs.This price is for an unguided tour ,and should you wish a tour guide you must pay an additional pound on top of the entrance fee. You can purchase a family ticket for 13 pounds. The Tour. The Crabble Corn Mill is in fact a working museum and all around you is the excellent Georgian and Victorian engineering. They really have enhanced... Read review

Spice Up Your CD Collection!
Review of Greatest Hits - Spice Girls by  Amy69

Advantages: great songs, attractive cover, decent price, memories
Disadvantages: a few negative memories, one or two disappointing tracks

...I don't tend to buy CD albums which consist of tracks from just one artist. Now I think about it, I can't remember the last time I bought a compilation album either (I really need to sort out my CD collection!). My Dad has asked me if there were any CDs I would like for Christmas, but I answered him with a straight forward 'no'. Although, this was a bit of a fib. I didn't want to ask for anything that Christmas, everything was to be a surprise! Deep down though, I was hoping for one album. This was a special album, consisting of both old and new tracks, a CD full of memories good and bad. If I wanted any album that year, it was to be the all-new Spice Girls Greatest Hits album! Announcing Their Return I heard about the reunion of the Spice Girls long before they made the official announcement; somebody I know receives email... Read review

Caudwell's Mill & Craft Centre, Derbyshire
Review of Caudwell's Mill Craft Centre, Derbyshire by  micksheff

Advantages: Interesting traditional workshops
Disadvantages: Admission charge to tour the flour mill and not really suited for disabled visitors

...Located just off the busy A6 trunk road at Rowsley near Matlock in the heart of the Peak District National Park is where Caudwell's Mill and Craft Shop is to be found. I would describe this as one of those little gems that I occasionally stumble upon whilst out walking in the Derbyshire's countryside. Despite its location on a busy road it is set back from the main road and could quite easily be overlooked although it is sign-posted. Whilst the central attraction of this place is a traditional working flour mill there is plenty more to see here as well. There are jewellery making workshops where you can watch jewellery being made by hand, a glass studio where you can see molten glass being blown, a blacksmiths where we watched horseshoes being made, an artist where portraits can be commissioned and a wood turner. At each... Read review

Olan mills did not deliver
Review of Olan Mills by  EmBe

Advantages: DID produce some lovely photos, firendly staff
Disadvantages: have now closed without even bothering to contact customers

...As a fathers day present in June 2006 I decided to buy my husband a Watch Me Grow package from Olan Mills. The package gave you four photoshoots with a child & parent (or whoever you wanted in the photos) over the course of 12 months. As part of the package you were entitled to one free 8 x 10 photo, plus with the initial purchase you got a small frame various offers with each of the four shoots. At the time of the purchase the staff at my local Olan Mills in Bedford were very helpful and continued to be at both of the sittings my husband and daughter attended. The package was really good value - about 25.0 and whilst the photos are very expensive if you want more than just your one free photo, you are under no obligation to buy more. My husband arranged the first sitting which went really well and the photos we ordered were... Read review

♫ Get on down to Trago Mills ♫
Review of Trago Mills (Liskeard) by  leofluffy69

Advantages: cheap, affordable products
Disadvantages: price stickers leave a mark, and you have to pay extra for carrier bags

...TRAGO MILLS - "More than you bargain for" ----------------------------------------------------------- Mum: I think we should maybe decorate the bathroom next… Dad: Yes OK then would you like to pop down to Trago at the weekend? Mum: Yeah that sounds good Little Fluffy: Can we have some toys? Sister: Can we have some sweets? Mum and Dad: No, we are going to look at a new bathroom suit. Little Fluffy + Sister: *sulks* Little Fluffy: Can we feed the ducks? Mum: Yeah if we have time Sister: Can we have some toys? Mum and Dad: No Every trip to Trago resulted in an exciting flurry of questions. I loved Trago when we had a few pounds to spend on pens, pencils, pocket toys and sweets. We could get so much more for our money compared to most high street stores. On our way down the A38 we couldn't help but sing the ditty "Trago... Read review
