Friend or Foe? Definitely Foe
Review of Spiderman: Friend Or Foe (Wii) by
27darren
Advantages: Decent graphics and sound effects
Disadvantages: Monotonous gameplay Endless button bashing
...There is a distinct problem for gamers in the gaming industry today. This is the feared phrase "movie tie-in". Usually this is some poorly made collect 'em up with a few similarities with the film to fool younger gamers into buying it. Still, sometimes we get lucky, and a developer actually sees beyond cashing in and makes a half decent game. Recently, this has been the case with the Spiderman franchise and although they were not strictly movie tie-ins, for games based around movies, they were very good indeed. So, is Spiderman: Friend or Foe a continuation of this trend?
Graphics/Sound
Surprisingly, the graphics aren't too bad and actually, they are one of the best things about this game. The same applies to the sound, which includes some decent sound effects and voice acting. The graphics do not push the Wii to the limit...

I'm Spiderman's Friend
Review of Spider-Man: Friend or Foe (Xbox 360) by
chugglebunny
Advantages: Easy to follow and very playable
Disadvantages: Not a long term game (maybe advantage?)
...The Story
-------------
Spiderman: Friend of Foe starts with a cut scene showing spiderman being beaten by all the villians from the movies. (Doc Octopus, Green Goblin, Sandman and Venom) When they are all attacked by a common enemy, later we learn, called "Phantoms". Phantoms are the minions of Mysterio, a slightly psychotic super villian. The phantoms are being controlled, and came to earth in a meteor. It is spidermans job to find all the shards of the meteor and wipe out the phantoms and get to Mysterio!
As spiderman travels from area to area, he meets friends (you and see where this is going!) and foes, some who join in the fight and some who reluctantly agree to help after being beaten by spidey!
Levels
----------
The game consists of 6 areas, based on different countries around the globe (Tokyo, Egypt, Nepal) Each...

Spiderman swings, slips, falls and cracks his head
Review of Spiderman: Friend Or Foe (PSP) by
SkipSpicy
Advantages: It's Spiderman
Disadvantages: It's another bad example of a cheap cash movie tie-in
...Alright, so I know I'm adding the first review for this game, especially for a platform as unappreciated as the PSP (besides myself, of course), and I should be providing an unbiased, detailed report on the game's graphics, gameplay, sound and longevity. And I guarentee, you won't be disappointed by my remarks as I analyse every nook and cranny about it.
But...and I ask this with unveiled hauteur...why did I give my money to Activision? I wasn't exactly threatened with a gun to my head to pay the cash up front, and I certainly was drugged at a party and led by the hand with my vision blurred all the way to the shop to purchase what could not even be called a game but generally more of a thumb exercise / eye-ball strainer.
Yes folks, this game is pap.
The presentation for it looks decent enough and your friendly neighbourhood...

Friendly neighbourhood spiderman
Review of Spiderman DVD by
rickstar
Advantages: gave me something to do
Disadvantages: it wasn't as good as i thought it was gonna be
...Spiderman
The first installment from your friendly neighbour hood Spiderman.
Well let mw start off by saying that this is one of the most disappointing films I have seen in my life. All the adverts make it look sensational, but when it comes to it you’ll wonder why you spent your hard earned money on going to see it at the cinema.
The film starts with his voice, ”who am I, are you sure you wanna know. The story of my life isn’t for the faint of heart. If some said that it was a happy little tail, if some one told you that I was just your average, ordinary guy, not a care in the world. Some body lied.
But let me assure you this like any story worth telling, is all about a girl, that girl, the girl next door, Mary Jane Watson. The woman I loved since before I even liked girls. I’d like to tell you that...

THE ONLY MAN I KNOW WHO LOOKS GOOD IN TIGHTS
Review of Spider-Man - Stan Lee by
LostWitness
Advantages: See review
Disadvantages: None
....
Without a doubt, my favourite stories have been those that have developed slowly over a period of time. As a monthly title, a six part story can occupy half a year in our time, so it can be a difficult task to keep the reader engaged – many key plots in the series have been developed over a period of time greater than that. I would have great difficulty naming my favourite comics or story lines – but I suppose if I had to, my favourite story of all time comes from the early eighties, when a new villain was in town (The Hobgoblin) and for a period of three or four years the readers were kept guessing as to who it was. Fantastic story telling!
The Villains
Spiderman has built up a considerable number of foes over the years – many of which have crossed over into other Marvel titles and fought other heroes. Given...

RIP Marc-Vivien Foe
Review of Marc-Vivien Foe by
Benniash
Advantages: A player who was at the top of his game
Disadvantages: A career and life cut short in such tragic circumstances
...fees accumulating to over £10 million.
Perhaps what is harder to accept from a football fans point of view is that Foe was a fit and healthy player and to die in such circumstances is somewhat scary to the average beer drinking twenty-four year old like myself. I personally hope a fitting tribute is paid to him, maybe a tournament in his name, or even a stand at Manchester City’s new ground. Just as devastating is the news that he also had a new born baby in April of this year, and of course my thoughts go out to his family and friends. I’m not pretending he was my footballing hero but the events of last night have moved me like the rest of the footballing world, I was shocked and stunned at the news that someone at the peak of fitness could be lost in such a way.

Spider-Man: No More, No Less
Review of Spider-Man 2 (Superbit) by
Nathan_Innit
Advantages: Moments of brilliance
Disadvantages: Tries too hard
...frontman of Oscorp, making advances in science his father never would have dreamt of.
Harry is still bitter about the death of his father however, and blames it all on Spiderman. This does take the toll on their friendship, as Harry believes Peter knows the identity of Spiderman because of all the pictures he takes of him and sells to the daily paper. Peter will obviously not budge, and Harry finds it hard to communicate with his best friend throughout the film and his obsession to kill Spiderman drives him into dangerous new territory.
Something that bothers me about Spiderman 2 is how it tries to be comical in a way the original Spiderman never did. Whilst I understand a lot of Spiderman 1 had to set up the characters, I struggle to understand why the extra time they had to spend on Spiderman 2 meant they threw in joke after joke...

sPiDeRmAn SuCcEsS 2 Or NoT
Review of Spider-Man 2 (Wide Screen) by
emu128
Advantages: GRAPHICS, FIGHT SCENCES
Disadvantages: TOO LOVEY-DOVEY
...- New York needs him!
I'm not going to spoil anymore of the plot but the story unravels a show of love, betrayal and trust between MJ and Peter. Peter's relationship with his Aunt is also established and lets not forget his best friend Harry Osborn who leaves us with an ending that rather suggests there will be a third Spiderman...
As you can tell the story is a mixture of everything in Peter's life but this means less action and more meaning to whats going on. You may find this a good thing - you may not.
ACTORS/ACTRESSES
The same actors are present in the sequel and they all do a really good job:
~~ Tobey Maguire ~~ Continues very well with his role as geeky Peter Parker and Spiderman. His cute looks are covered up well with those sexy spec's and cute side parting!
~~ Kirsten Dunst ~~ As gorgeous as ever as MJ and does...

SPIDERMAN 2
Review of Spider-Man 2 (Wide Screen) by
moo_trendy_cow
Advantages: Starts off where it left off from the other film, so you don't miss anything.
Disadvantages: Parkers voice is annoying, like a bit wispy!
...buildings.
4. The press is against him, while he is saving people, the newspapers make it seem like he is doing wrong. So the story sells.
5. Parker's best friend Harry, wants to kill spiderman and avenge his father who was killed by spiderman.
He completely gives up his spiderman powers and just wants to be normal Peter Parker. So he can be there for Mary Jane and not miss her plays (she is an actor) or anyhing else. That is his dream.
But there is a fire one day and Paker' instinct made him run in there and save a little girl, even though he had no powers. Later when he came out he found out there was someone els who didn't make it out of the building. Parker couln't help thinking that if he was Spiderman he could have saved the other person.
This and his Aunt May telling him that children need heroes, and Spiderman is childrens...

Yer friendly neighbourhood Spiderman
Review of Spider-Man - Stan Lee by
dave27
Advantages: Great writing and story lines, believable characters
Disadvantages: Sometimes there is a bit TOO much play on Parker's problems
...For thirty years or more the eternal teenager Peter Parker has been one of the staple diets of Marvel Comics fame as the alter ego of that troubled soul Spiderman. He's been translated to cartoons (quite successfully) and a TV series (very unsuccessfully), but it's on the printed comic page that the web slinger really come sinto his own.
He was one of the first masked superheroes of comic land to suffer the tortures of REAL LIFE and old Petey has always gone through the sort of problems that we all face - unrequited love, depression, self doubt and loathing, shyness. He's irredeemably HUMAN and yet the comic strip has always featured some of the finest action and adventure of any of the genre.
For those that don't know, Peter Parker was a student who got bitten by a spider which had taken on a hefty dose of radiation...
