...Over the last few years there seems to have been a boom in energy drinks. 'Red Bull' was one of the first, is the best known and is certainly the market leader in the energy drinks niche. Latterly 'Solstis' from Lucozade, 'Red Devil' and now this one 'Spiked Silver' have emerged in an attempt to try and challenge Red Bull for the number one spot but without any degree of success BUT that could soon change. I get up very early in the morning (5:30) and for the first hour of my day, drive around doing a zombie impression. I used to stop off somewhere and pick up a coffee to wake me up but got fed up of the disgusting taste of machine coffee so I tried Red Bull at a freinds recommendation. ...Spike Dudley ; Commonly referred to as " Little " Spike Dudley - and rightly so as they are clearly mentioning his size in that statement, the reason? he is around 5'5 and 150 pounds (or as the commentators say " a buck 50 ") and so he does not have the look of a wrestler nor does he have the strength but he sure has the athleticism and heart of a wrestler. He does moves which quite frankly I at least; find hard to believe - such as where he is thrown around like a rag doll. Such as, when he has come into the WWF I have seen him feud with people such as Bubba Ray and D-Von who are his " half brothers " a.k.a The Dudley Boyz who are table driven maniacs who like to put Spike through the wood at unbelievable velocity. ...Well, first of all I have to say I'm not a great hair product afficionado but i tried this product to try and get some great pointy spikes and i wasn't disappointed. The packaging is sleek and effective and really caught my eye on the shelf. Priced at £3.99 in the supermarket where I saw this product I am assuming that this is quite good value. Now, the gel. I soon discovered you only needed a little bit to go a LONG way and my first attempt was something of a miny disaster! I ended up with rock solid spikes, the sort of which could probably cause some serious damage, and my hair drenched in greasy residue. After a good few minutes/hours under the shower I was ready to try again, this time with a significantly smaller amount! ...I grew up as an avid fan of Spike Milligan thanks to my English father who lived for the Goon Show etc. I bought this book on a whim and have since decided to shop impulsively more often! What a beautiful book it is. It is hard to decided which is better - the illustrations or the stories and poems. I should point out that the book does infact contain Spike's own illustrations. He has such a vivid imagination that the most ridiculous stories seem real and believable to the reader. I have a sneaking suspicion that although this is a childrens book it was really being aimed at parents although my 9 year old has laughed himself to sleep when I have read bits to him. I particularly recommend Sir Nobonk and the Terrible, Awful, Dreadful, Naughty, Nasty Dragon, although if you can get your mouth around the names and language... Read review

...Garnier Fructis Spiking Gel is one of the better Gel products I have ever used, it is great for both men and woman and leaves your hair smelling beautiful. The product is available in most good retailers and is often on offer in Tesco's, Asda and superdrug. Packaging: The product comes in a long green 200ml tube, the packaging is fully recyclable and visably shows the name of the product which is clearly identified, the packaging stands out quite dramatically with it being a bold green colour so easy to spot on the shelf. Advantages: A biased account of the life of this Irish comic genius and lunatic!
Disadvantages: Perhaps too revealing and not to everyone's taste.

...In writing this review I am keenly aware that Spike Milligan may not appeal to everyone as an icon of British comedy. I only became interested in him through his improbable wartime memoirs, his various books of comic verse and his insane novels, Puckoon and the Looney. My curiosity was heightened by his TV appearances on talk shows in his later years, here it appeared was a true eccentric with a genuine twinkle in his eye. Then when Humphrey Carpenter produced a biography of Milligan I just had to read it. After all, he had done such a fine job with JRR Tolkien and other English stalwarts. Spike (Terence Alan) Milligan KBE was born in Ahmednegar, India on the 16th April 1918, the son of Irish born Leo Milligan, an officer in the British Army. It was hardly my son's fault that the poor woman had either never heard of Spike Milligan, or possessed no sense of humour (possibly both), but to be perfectly honest, his choice was always going to be one of the near-two hundred poems contained in this wonderfully crazy anthology of Spike's poems and stories for children. The book had become a firm favourite with both my sons since I'd snapped up a ridiculously cheap copy from the Book People a few months previously, with the aim of adding a little variation to their customary bedtime story routine.
