Splinter cell chaos theory - review
Review of Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory (PS2) by
jimothyjim00
Advantages: A great stealth game
Disadvantages: 2 player mode is quite hard
...Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Chaos Theory
Chaos theory is a 3rd person stealth game. You play the role of Sam Fisher who is an NSA agent. This game can be picked up for varying prices but I got mine for £30.99 when it was first out. It was both developed and published by UBI soft and the game is a 16+. This game took me about 3 weeks to complete on the easiest mode and I would consider myself to be a little above average at gaming.
The Story
Sam Fisher is a NSA agent and he has to stop the outbreak of world war 3. He must go on numerous missions to take out certain people or simply to gather information. In his travels he must go to Asia, New York and many other countries and major cities. The story itself is told by listening to your team giving you the information, through what you discover as you read enemy emails and overhear...

Splinter Cell Double Agent Review
Review of Splinter Cell - Double Agent (PS2) by
SecretLemonadeDrinker
Advantages: Good Graphics, Fans of the series will like it
Disadvantages: Poor attempt at innovation
...Splinter Cell: Double Agent Review!
Snazzy title eh?
Splinter Cell: Double Agent promised us something different from previous Splinter Cell’s, a game that followed Sam Fisher a grizzled veteran stealthily completing missions and saving the world. The series is hugely popular with fans and critics who love the realistic and patient style of game play. However, when Chaos Theory the third game in the series was released, it garnered a lukewarm reception, and whilst still being fundamentally sound it was a case of been there done that for gamers. Something needed to be done to freshen up the series and in October 2006 Double Agent arrived to do just that.
Or did it?
When I heard the premise for Double Agent I was excited, too excited if I’m honest. The idea of choosing how I play the game and how good or bad I am...

Easily the greatest stealth game ever!
Review of Splinter Cell Chaos Theory (Xbox) by
lemonlicker
Advantages: Quality graphics and storyline, a chance to show intelligence in a game!
Disadvantages: Not for people who prefer constant fast gameplay
...Well firstly I just have to put how fantastic the Splinter Cell series is! It is unbelievable and I still haven't started the latest game Splinter Cell Double Agent. But back to Chaos Theory...
The game is about a Splinter Cell, an agent working for black-ops, called Sam Fisher who has to take out terrorists and stop things from either happening or existing.
The whole game is based around stealth and is in the third person view. The game's missions are ended each time with a percentage score that is based on the amount of combat that has taken place, littler is better, the amount of times you have been spotted or alarms have been raised and if all the objectives have been completed.
The main interface shows the health bar and how much health Sam has, how much light is where Sam is, the equipment that he has currectly on him, how...

Silent but Violent!
Review of Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory (PS2) by
baalzamon
Advantages: Great graphics, cool gadgets, brilliant storyline
Disadvantages: Little replay value, no unlockable extras
...Excuse the toilet humour in my title, I just couldn't resist!
WHAT IS IT?
Chaos Theory is the latest instalment in the popular Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell franchise of video games on PS2, Xbox and PC.
STORYLINE
As in the two previous titles in the series, the player takes the role of Sam Fisher, tough-guy stealth operative in the familiar 'cynical, straight talking, "I'm getting too old for this crap" mould. Fisher works for Third Echelon, a branch of the National Security Agency, and is sent on a number of continent-hopping missions to retrieve sensitive data, rescue folk, take out targets and basically anything that requires utmost discretion and the odd dash of lethal force.
This time, the year is 2008 and the story begins with Sam being sent to Peru to rescue the only living person with data on the Masse Kernels, a set...

BOO!!!
Review of Splinter Cell Chaos Theory (Xbox) by
Halo92
Advantages: Amazing graphics, varied missions and difficulty, good storyline and cool gadgets.
Disadvantages: Not for the "I LOVE PLAYING FAST-PACED GAMES 24-7!!!" gamer.
....
Splinter Cell Chaos Theory is easily the best in the Splinter Cell series, and definitely worth having. Jump in your seat as a door slams behind you, roar with laughter at the nervous guard when you throw a tin can his way, go head-to-head online with your mates, or work together on Co-operative mode. This is one Splinter Cell I would definatly not miss....

What Are Those's 3 Green Lights In The Dark???
Review of Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory (PS2) by
masterblaster1982
Advantages: Stunning Graphics, New Stealth Kills And A Co-Op Mode.
Disadvantages: Bearly Anything, Can Be Hard At Times.
...in water you can grab enemies and drown them. Necksnaps can also be done when hanging from pipes too. As well as all previously gadgets he has, there's some more, one of which you use most is a jamming gadget that is part of your pistol. This can be used to turn off anything electrical like lights, computers, cameras and many more. Also new is the save that can be done at anytime as before when killed you had to start at begging or a long away checkpoint. With lots more moves and actions to do chaos theory feels more like a real sequel unlike no2 that was manly like the first with not much more added.
REPLAY VALUE:
Replay Value is much better than before now that you can choose equipment at each mission and there's a rating for each each mission too. there's no unlockables at all but with a improved online play and bigger maps there more...

What was that?
Review of Splinter Cell Chaos Theory (Xbox) by
Smeep
Advantages: Smooth and brilliantly executed gameplay.
Disadvantages: Er... might not appeal to all tastes.
...Wow. I played the first splinter cell one the Xbox and I was hooked. Then the second came out and they introduced multi player. I didn't know where to look! Then they released this. What could I do?
Well, first I forced myself not to play multi player. I just had too. Just so that I didn't feel I was missing out on anything and what a dream to play it was.
Splinter Cell, based on fiction by Tom Clancy has always been a game about stealth. In theory (geddit? Theory?) you can get all the way through the game without being seen once by the usual wandering enemies. You play a character named Sam Fisher. His job is basically to stop world war from erupting. By taking out leaders of terrorist groups or making it so that certain things never existed. Which all in all, when you are the only man on the field, is easier to do if no one knows...

Splinter Cell
Review of Tom Clancy`s Splinter Cell (Xbox) by
smooth_criminal_
Advantages: Atmospheric gameplay, cool gadgets
Disadvantages: Some ideas taken from MGS2, some
...Naturally, before playing on Splinter Cell, due to all the rumours about it being an exact copy of Metal Gear, I was sceptical. However, after just a few minutes of playing as Sam Fisher; the third echelon special forces operative, I soon realised how brilliant this game is.
Now, admittedly the name Sam Fisher doesn’t have quite the same ring to it as Solid Snake but he is certainly a far better stealth operative with more gadgets, moves and grey hair than Snake could ever muster.
The game starts with two agents lying in the cold spying on an enemy force. They creep into a vent and make their way down to a bunker of sorts. They discover a huge army ready to mobilise and immediately transmit to HQ. Unfortunately before they manage to communicate what they’re seeing in more detail they’re seen by a guard and fired...

Splinter Cell: Double Agent - Tired and Overdone
Review of Splinter Cell - Double Agent (PS2) by
smooth_criminal_
Advantages: Good graphics and voice acting, good replay value
Disadvantages: A poor attempt at innovation, needs something new
...With Splinter Cell: Double Agent being the fourth incarnation of Ubi Soft's now well established stealth-based espionage franchise, the developers desperately needed to build on their previous success and inject some much needed innovation into the once groundbreaking series. There is no doubt that Ubi Soft tried to push the boundaries here, but, upon playing Double Agent and hoping for the best, I unfortunately came away feeling that Splinter Cell has become rather tired and overdone.
With a plot that makes some gestures towards depth but ultimately fails to excite, and a new but half-hearted trust-gauge mechanism, the basics of Splinter Cell remain untouched in Double Agent. Based more upon stealth, and, to some extent, strategy than full blown action, the game sees the player take on the role of Sam Fisher, an NSA operative...

Splinter Cell - absolutely superb
Review of Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell (PC) by
felixmatthew
Advantages: Great sound, fantastic graphics
Disadvantages: a little hard to control at first, but keep at it!
...When I recently upgraded my computer to an all singing all dancing version, I decided to test the graphics and gaming card that PC world told me was "the best money could buy". I opted for Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell.
* A bit about the character you control, SAM FISHER*
You play the character of Sam Fisher and you are the best filed operative of a secretive NSA sub-agency. Sent to execute desperate missions, you are the last resort of your government. Shoulf you be captured of killed, all knowledge of your existence will be denied: you are SPLINTER CELL.
Fisher has been on the front lines of espionage in several defining conflicts throughout past decades. He has not only survived, but also excelled in the field of covert operations through hard work, insatiable curiosity and brutal honesty. He has little time for polite...
