mp3 cd player
Review of Sony CD / MP3 player by
Cid-zx
Advantages: good battery life
Disadvantages: ?????
...in a very short time and these days you would be hard pushed to find a piece of audio software that isn’t capable of converting your cd collection into mp3 files, much of it for free.
Even better, you are no longer limited to listening to your MP3 collection on your PC. Some hi-fi and mini systems are able to play mp3s but when it comes to personal audio players it seems that every passing day brings a few more tempting gadgets on to the market.
The trouble is that most of these mp3 players are still fairly new and usually quite pricey. I’ve been looking to spend about £60 and for that sort of price you can choose from quite a large selection of what are called solid state players.
Unlike walkmans they have no internally moving parts, so rather than physically place your music inside (as you would with a cd or tape) you simply attach...

MP3 Portable Players Are What You Need
Review of Anyone - MP3 Players by
robscott86
Advantages: Free Music, easy to use and understand, portable, flexible.
Disadvantages: n/a
...Simply put. You need an MP3 player if you like music. Anything you want you can take with you, without a price for the music. Much better than a CD player!
MP3's have become very popular throughout the public music industry. The recent experiences with Napsters law suit and others a like have meant that the MP3's have got a lot more publicity than may have first been anticipated.
Deciding that it was probably a much better thing to get an MP3 portable player than a Mini-Dic player, I got one for Christmas. It cost £100, compared to a mini-disc player costing around £200. It came with 64mb already installed, and the option of having an external hard-drive.
This means that I can store 64mb of music on the MP3 player (typically a song will be around 3mb in size but varies from song to song). This means I can store around 21 singles...

MP3 Player MP-906, Cheap and Cheerful
Review of Technika MP3 player by
tumblebiscuit
Advantages: Cheap! small, user friendly, no-one will ever want to steal it and you can replace cheaply if it breaks!
Disadvantages: No locking device, non standard headphones, obviously not hi-tech!
...I seem to start all my reviews with some brief autobiographical notes so here goes...
~~The Autobiography of my MP3 use~~
My MP3 player broke. I was not happy. One of the reasons I wasn't happy was that it had reached that perfect state of being old, out-moded and shabby which meant no-one would be tempted to steal it on my upcoming Round the World trip and I wouldn't care if they did. Now I had to find another old, out-moded and shabby MP3 player to take with me. In the meantime I was stuck training for Race for Life in silence (unless I sang to myself and, being a Reception Teacher, I am only really confident on the lyrics to Nursery Rhymes. You get funny looks jogging round the local park singing 3 Blind Mice, believe me)
That's when I spotted these little babies in Tesco for only £4.97. I couldn't quite believe it. After...

in the blue mp3/cd player
Review of Panasonic CD / MP3 player by
l1nda
Advantages: Good basic player
Disadvantages: reliability lets it down
...I was given this player to keep me occupied on my many long bus and train journeys.
THE PLAYER
This is a Japanese mp3 and CD player, which comes in a silver and blue top with a grey base. It is 13cmx13cmx2½cm which is about average size, so its more bag sized than pocket sized. It comes with an adapter and ear bud type headphones. It only has a small display area, so only displays limited information on it, such as which track and album or how long the song has been playing for. There are also little icons to display what modes you have it on, which are discussed later. The buttons are fairly small, so not fab it you are fumbling about in the dark or going under a tunnel, or if you have any arthritic type problems that makes it difficult to press small buttons. The overall appearance is nice and suitable for male or female...

Napa MP3 player
Review of Napa 512MB LCD MP3 Player by
tokenboy
Advantages: Small and compact
Disadvantages: N / A
...Napa 256 Mb MP3 Player.
This portable MP3 player seems to be only available from Currys and Dixons, or at least it was at Christmas when I bought mine. For anyone who doesn't know, an Mp3 player can be used to store digital music tracks, and then can be used to payback whenever you wish. Basically it's a new age digital personal stereo.
It is really quite small for what it is.
Its size is : 85mm x 35mm x 20mm. This is roughly the same size as your index and middle finger combined. Its weight is 40 grams.
You need to be able to connect your Mp3 player to your PC, which is achieved by using the USB cable which is supplied in the box. A CD which has the driver for your Mp3 player is also included, but if you are running a reasonably up to date operating system such as Windows ME or higher then the driver is unnecessary...

Stunning little 256mb MP3 player for under £5
Review of Technika MP3 player by
DragonflyWales
Advantages: Price, Simple to use, Quality
Disadvantages: Minimal features
...I have been debating whether to splash out on an mp3 player for quite some time now but always seemed to have something else to spend the money on so had not purchased one until now.
While picking up some essentials I spotted the Technika MP-906 mp3 player which Tesco are currently retailing for £4.97 and so decided that at under £5 what the hell.
I have to say it is probably the best £5 I have ever spent. For this price you don't expect much and so I was expecting a lightweight flimsy feeling piece of kit, but I couldn't have been more wrong.
The first thing you notice when you remove the player from the packaging is the quality feel of the player. Not the flimsy plastic I was expecting but a solid plastic with a soft rubbery texture that is incredibly comfortable to hold.
The styling of the player is very smooth...

Brilliant Rio Nitrus 1.5 Gig MP3 Player
Review of Rio Nitrus 1.5GB MP3 Player by
Deep888
Advantages: One of the best MP3 Players on the Market, Brilliantly Cheap
Disadvantages: Fiddaly controls
...I have my Rio Nitrus for 2 days now and am delighted!! It cost me only £55.00 Delivered, and offers me everything I am looking for in an MP3 Player. It has a 1.5 gig hard drive, which in normal language can store over 300 songs, much more then i needed.
This MP3 player is much better than my previous 256 Flash MP3 player and has so many more features.
The Cool Black Design coating is a great alternative to the 'white' Apple iPod that so many people are used to.
The sound quality is perfect and much better than my previous MP3 player, it offers high quality sound, I think it also uses surround sound, to make a truly magical cinematic experience.
The LCD screen is not the biggest screen i have ever seen, but as the MP3 player is quite small, I think it's a decent size, and shows all the best attributes, such as artist...

Aigo mp3 Player (a203)
Review of Aigo (A203) MP3 Player by
lostsworld
Advantages: Cheap and Small
Disadvantages: Rubbish earphones and slow response buttons
...Ok, to start this review off as you can see by the pic it is a small usb pen mp3 player in black and silver with an LCD screen. On the front it has a play button that acts as play/pause and on/off, on the sides it has the mode button, volume control, earphones, hold button, a mic and a metal keychain attachment. The deivce is nice and light and uses 1 x AAA battery. Although the instructions do not say, if you use a 700mah battery you should get around 5hrs of play out of it.
The package comes in a small card board box with a plastic interior and the parts are wrapped in a plastic bag. In the box itself you should get, the mp3 player, 1 battery, earphones, usb cable, user manual and a cd-rom for Windows98. As I only have Windows XP I cannot say whether this auto installs on other operating systems. One useful item on the cd...

Aaaaa, whats an mp3 player
Review of Anyone - MP3 Players by
Diamondstorm
Advantages: Its very small
Disadvantages: VERY EXPENSIVE
...What is an MP3 player? To put it simply, an Mp3 player is very similar to an portable CD player, or a walkman, but has many more advantages first, a portable MP3 player is a small device, smaller than a mobile phone, whith a memory card. You place the memory card into the Mp3 player, and conect it to a PC. You can then put songs from your computer onto the memory card, via the MP3 player. You can put 20 - 50 songs on a card, depending on the capacity of it, the length of the songs. The songs can be by any artist, and on average, 3 - 4 minutes long. You can then replace the songs, write over them, and buy replacement cards (prices below). Soon, speakers will be released for MP3s, portable and stationay, headphones come with them, additional cards are avalible, computer connections are included, rechargers are avalible, as are battery...
