Exercising, without the need for exercise...
Review of Bodi Tek Sports EMS System by
monsoon18
Advantages: No need to go to the gym as often as before
Disadvantages: May prove too easy for some, a cheat. Replacement pads and components cost money
...that they are more conductible), fitted between a strap which goes around a body part, say for example the upper abdominal region.
There are two selectable modes to the system, Sports mode and Therapy mode. Sports mode is mainly for muscle toning, while Therapy mode is for muscle massage and relief. Now, you can select how long you want the contractions to occur for, and the pause time. The contraction lengths range from 1 second to 25 seconds, and the same goes for the pause time.
Now the contraction time and pause length are set (They can be varied during the exercise), it is time to set how hard you want your muscles to work. So moving the analogue dial up increases the electromagnetic force, contracting your muscles much harder than humanly possible. Have you ever tried to do just one more crunch, ending up in failed misery? This machine...

great drink to have when exercising
Review of Lucozade Sport by
beanie8844
Advantages: successfully rehydrates the body when exercising at high intensity
Disadvantages: can be expensive when bought from a vending machine
...OVERVIEW:
Lucozade Sport Isotonic Energy Drink tackles the two key factors affecting sporting performance, depletion of energy stores and dehydration. It is a drink which really works - through extensive testing with top athletes and the recreation of sporting situations the lucozade sport science academy are able to carefully monitor the impact and benefits of lucozade sport on sports performance. It really is a great drink for athletes and because of this is used by many top sportsmen and women - it is the offical sports drink of Leicester Tigers RFC aa well as being used by all 23 national teams of the English Football Association.
Gary Lewin - Arsenal and England Physio says:
"Lucozade Sport drinks are used particularly after exercise to replace fluid and electrolytes. There are many flavours that the players like...

A Sports Elixir for Super-human performance
Review of Lucozade Sport by
gorvifal3
Advantages: Effective - it really does give you a boost of energy, tastes good for an isotonic drink, replenishes lost electrolytes
Disadvantages: Expensive, probably bad for your teeth, contains artificial sweetener aspartame
...I have been using Lucozade Sport, an isotonic drink, for quite some time now. I was not persuaded to use this product because of the advertising with the claim that it helps you to last “33% longer”, I just bought a bottle one day from the vending machine in my sports centre because I needed a drink. I decided to try the Lucozade sport as an alternative to the bottled water on offer, soft drinks were also on offer but these are not ideal to use when exercising. I had tried Isotonic drinks in the past and other Lucozade products and thought that most of them tasted quite disgusting, Lucozade sport however seemed to taste quite nice in comparison.
As far as I know Lucozade sport comes in four different flavours which include Lemon, Orange, Mixed Berry and Pink Grapefruit. Personally the flavour I prefer would have to be Lemon this has...

Forget Celery, get on the Wii Sports diet!
Review of Wii Sports (Wii) by
ratkid132
Advantages: Exercising or relaxing, whatever you want it to be
Disadvantages: Unrealistic drawing style (not that that matters to me!)
...its a games lesson! Let me give you an example of some training exercises in Tennis:
1. Returning balls, a lot of tennis balls are thrown at you and you have to return them legally (inside the court).
2. Aiming, balls are thrown at you and you have to return them in a constantly moving and narrowing area.
3. Aiming:Part 2, you play yourself against a wall with a target on it, trying to hit the target as many times as you can without hitting the ball so diagonally that you can't reach it in time.
The exercises vary greatly with each sport, and are games in themselfs, high scores are kept in each exercise so expect inter-house competitions happening!
~~~ Twang, thwock, boom, shuck! ~~~
Of course, I couldn't forget this lovely gem. Nintendo put the Wiimote speaker to full use in Wii Sports. Nearly every movement you do is reflected...
Wii Sports is fun in a box
Review of Wii Sports (Wii) by
mjgfish
Advantages: Fun, keeps your fit, good range of sports
Disadvantages: Graphics
...but so much fun to try and get that KO. It may take a few tries to knock out your opponent but as soon as your get a good headshot your opposition should be shocked and open for a pounding so let him have it then cover up to protect yourself until the perfect time to strike.
There is always a training mode where there are three types of training routines for each sport which are fun and hard to complete. This is great practice and I think it can be more fun to try with friends and family to see who can get the top score on each training mode.
There is also Wii Fitness which you can do once a day and this gives you 3 random training mode games and calculates you age from that. You can age from 20 to 80 so if you are serious about it then you will want to aim for 30 or lower but I think a bit of exercise a day will help a lot of people...
Sport - Pleasure Or Punishment
Review of General - Sport for Kids by
KarenUK
Advantages: beneficial to health, encourages discipline and team skills, enjoyment, fun
Disadvantages: disliked by some kids
...encourage them to walk and run, writing down the date they take their first steps. A child's enthusiasm for their new-found skills is obvious, as they toddle ever quicker, laughing and smiling with pleasure at this new development they have learnt. Surely it is a natural thing to want to nurture this love of exercise?
The most obvious benefit to sport is keeping fit. One of my children was slightly overweight at around six - not that it was a problem, but if she had continued to put the weight on, it might well have been.
It was not a dietary issue, as such - none of my kids are allowed to consume junk food very often. It was my fault though. As a baby, she never slept through the night until she was 3 1/2 years old. I gave her several bottles of formula and then cow's milk in an effort to get her to sleep better. This milk consumed...
Orange Lucozade Sport
Review of Lucozade Sport by
killiefan
Advantages: Nice Taste, Helps your thirst
Disadvantages: Bit sweet for some, no added energy
...Lucozade Sport is a still isotonic drink which comes in four flavours being Orange, Mixed Berry, Lemon and Grapefruit. For the purpose of my review the flavour i tested was Orange. The makers of Lucozade Sport are Glaxo Smithkline with the claim being that the drink aids energy loss and dehydration to help you get an edge in your sport. The boost is meant to come from the carbohydrate, fluid and electrolytes provided to replace what you are using during exercise.
PACKAGING
The 500ml bottle is a simple design being a clear plastic bottle with a label which difers slightly depending on flavour. It is designed to be easy to hold during exercise which works for me. It has a sports cap to make it easier to drink on the move.
TASTE
The orange lucozade sport is a very strong flavour and is extremely sweet. I find...
FUN & Different Exercise Un-Routines
Review of Member Advice on Exercise Routines by
myportfolio
Advantages: No memberships, fees or registrations
Disadvantages: None that I know of
...Exercise Routines…
© 2005 Linperry .
*****MANY of the exercise un-routines in this writing are free or very inexpensive. The most expensive ones might be the Horse-back riding or one or two others.
In my own opinion I believe that an exercise routine shouldn’t be that at all –routine.
I think that when exercise gets to be routine, though that might help some individuals, that ‘routine’ part of it will bore me and eventually make me want to stop the exercise program. So, the way that I like to do my exercise is in a different or creative way, different than the average exercise class that you might watch on television or see in the local gyms. I believe in that old saying, “you can’t kill two birds with one stone”, however, I think you can.
If you really think things out, you CAN exercise and CAN accomplish...
Wii Sports - Excellent Fun
Review of Wii Sports (Wii) by
jp7541
Advantages: Simple to play - No need to read a manual
Disadvantages: Not great as a single player game
...I got this game when I bought my Nintendo Wii. It is a wonderful introduction into to the Wii's capability as a games console.
Wii sports consists of the following games: Tennis, Baseball, Golf, Bowling, Boxing. You can either play against the computer or against friends. Plus there is a training options to help you improve your skill level on the Wii in each of the sports above. As well as fitness option which is like a mini gym session where you are given specific exercises to do and after completing them it gives you fitness age.
It is probably worth mentioning the Mii facility, and that to get the most out of this game, you need to set up your Mii. This is your own customisable personal character who takes part in the sports you play in Wii Sports. This character also participates in other games on the Wii. It is a fun way...
Wii Sports - A New Way to Play
Review of Wii Sports (Wii) by
wholefruit
Advantages: A brilliant sports game
Disadvantages: Addictive - you will be late for all your appointments!
...-games. Once completed the game calculates your fitness age which can range from 20-80.
Training
The training games are probably as good if not better than the full games. They are generally quite difficult and will test your ability. As your skills levels gradually improve you will achieve bronze, silver and gold medals. I find these games very addictive and continually try to improve my scores.
Fitness
Fitness mode is an interesting feature but in reality I doubt that the calculation made by the game is relevant to your actual fitness. However some of the games do increase your heart rate and will probably assist in weight control. In my opinion Wii sports is not energetic enough to replace proper regular exercise.
Tennis
Tennis matches are played as doubles matches and you control 2 players which can be represented by your Mii...
