THE best channel for Sports News...Sky Sports 1.
Review of Sky Sports 1 - Sky Sports Centre by
andycharger
Advantages: A brilliant information packed show
Disadvantages: A bit too much football
...I am one of the biggest sports fans around. I say one of them as there is always someone bigger than me!
But when it comes to broadcasting quality Sports programming, there is only One choice.
Sky Sports 1.
With all of the competition it wipes the floor.
With BBC1 and ITV you have a 6PM News programme.
You have the same on Sky Sports.
It brings you all of the breaking stories from around the globe just like the actual news bulletins on terrestrial television.
While being at work and listening to the radio gives you the headlines from time to time, Sky Sports Centre gives you an in depth and detailed review of all of the sport you can think of.
Want to hear about a managers sacking or why a player has cost a club X million pounds?
Find out here first and with the best and most accurate reporting.
The presenters are very good...

Swimming & Other Sports, London SE26

Advantages: Great range of facilities at good prices & good accessibility
Disadvantages: Maintenance could be better & they could respond to feedback more
...astro turf football pitch for club use and private hire. Additionally, the main sports hall can be hired by individuals and clubs for indoor football, volleyball, short tennis, badminton and trampolining. It is worth pointing out, however, that the hall can often be unavailable during the day in the school holidays, due to the extensive programme of group activities scheduled for children. Not something that the centre's literature tells you!
KIDS STUFF:
=
During the school holidays the centre runs a programme called "Camp Adventure", operating daily between 8:30am - 5:30pm, aimed at children in groups aged 5 - 7, 8 - 9 & 10 - 12. The scheme is registered with Social Services and Ofsted and is fully supervised. Children using the scheme get the opportunity to participate in numerous sports and other activities.
The Centre...

Sky Sports News Every 15 Minutes
Review of Sky Sports News by
carysb
Advantages: Updated, Information, All Sports
Disadvantages: Repetitive,
...it on the website.
Sky Sports Website
On first look the website is very cluttered with lots of link, information and images.
It is a similar design to the news channel but the different sports tabs run across the top and each consists of a link which will take you to the pages of said sport. For example if you click on Rugby Union you are taken to the Rugby Union page where you then need to click for fixtures, tables, news photos, links etc etc. These options are available for all sports.
The site is very easy to navigate with the sports headlines listed in links to the centre of the page and an image to the left of the top story also linking to the text that accompanies the image. The home page also gives you the option to view the latest headlines on video, photos or to watch them live on your computer. Scrolling down the page you...

Sports Waste
Review of Sports Soccer (Shop) by
Nathan_Innit
Advantages: Cheap prices and large stores
Disadvantages: Generally ugly clothes
...It's interesting to find what's being built right under your nose, and whilst it has been open for quite some time now when a massive new Sports World (formerly known as Sports Soccer) opened in a new shopping park just outside of the usual shopping area in Cambridge, I was obliged to find out what it's like. This now not very newish Sports World isn't the only one Cambridge has to offer though, as there is also one in the centre of town - that's not too shabby in size either. What exactly do these shops have to offer? Well I'll be happy to let you know.
With the arrival of the new Sports World came an influx of a brand I had hardly ever heard of before, Lonsdale. Hmm.. what's that I thought. It didn't look very nice but people seemed to be picking up new outfits of it by the bucketful from somewhere. I wondered where...

A Sports Elixir for Super-human performance
Review of Lucozade Sport by
gorvifal3
Advantages: Effective - it really does give you a boost of energy, tastes good for an isotonic drink, replenishes lost electrolytes
Disadvantages: Expensive, probably bad for your teeth, contains artificial sweetener aspartame
...I have been using Lucozade Sport, an isotonic drink, for quite some time now. I was not persuaded to use this product because of the advertising with the claim that it helps you to last “33% longer”, I just bought a bottle one day from the vending machine in my sports centre because I needed a drink. I decided to try the Lucozade sport as an alternative to the bottled water on offer, soft drinks were also on offer but these are not ideal to use when exercising. I had tried Isotonic drinks in the past and other Lucozade products and thought that most of them tasted quite disgusting, Lucozade sport however seemed to taste quite nice in comparison.
As far as I know Lucozade sport comes in four different flavours which include Lemon, Orange, Mixed Berry and Pink Grapefruit. Personally the flavour I prefer would have to be Lemon this has...

The Trafford Centre MAJOR REWRITE
Review of The Trafford Centre by
Nameless
Advantages: Free to park, lots of shops and decent entertainment sections too.
Disadvantages: Gets busy at weekends, some very expensive places to shop and eat.
...NOTE : I have re-written this op almost completely as I felt I had more to add (and I'd already started it before realising I did it already - DOH)
The Trafford Centre may well be the shoppers idea of Paradise (Moose perks up her ears.) Opened in September 1998, and just a stones throw from where I was living at the time, the massive centre took shape on top of previously overgrown waste ground in Davyhulme, Manchester.
The Trafford Centre is among the largest shopping centres in Europe, but it has more to offer than just shops, as I’ll explain later.
Before I go on I’ll say two things which make me qualified to write this op, firstly I’m a shopaholic, and secondly with the centre on my doorstep for 3 years I used to go there amazingly regularly, so I know it pretty well. As a result I’ve reviewed...

Dover Leisure Centre
Review of Dover Leisure Centre by
daylehall
Advantages: You don't need to be a member to use the facilities
Disadvantages: Certain parts may be shut due to private events
...Living in Dover means that we don't have too many facilities. Dover Leisure Centre is about the only sporting facility in Dover other than the football and rugby pitches.
Location
Dover Leisure Centre is located on Townwall Street in Dover which is pretty much on the seafront and within walking distance to the Port of Dover. It is also within walking distance of Dover town, Dover Priory Station and Pencester bus station.
Facilities
There are two swimming pools at Dover Leisure Centre. There is a main swimming pool which is 25 metres and also a learner / childrens pool. In the main pool, there are two lanes of the swimming pool which are sectioned off to create one slow, and one fast swimming lane.
The rest of the pool is then literally just open water where people can swim at their own leisure.
The smaller pool is much...

Feeling Fit?
Review of Afan Lido Sports Centre by
sweetdaisy
Advantages: local (to me), lots of facilities, no posers!!
Disadvantages: none that I can think of
...It's that time of year again where New Year is fast approaching and many New Year's resolutions will me made and broken!! Becoming healthier is the number one New Year's resolution. Need a bit of motivation to get healthy?, not sure what's available in your area? For those who intend starting the Year with this in mind, I would like to tell everyone about the facilities available at my local sports centre in Port Talbot.
I have been a member of the Afan Lido for over a year. The main facilities that I use are the gym and swimming pool. The best thing about this sports centre is that you can be all shapes and sizes and as soon as you walk through the door you don't have people staring and sneering at you. There is no competition in the gym as to who is wearing the latest sports wear, it is not full of people taking steroids...

A must for football fans and fans of sport alike!
Review of Sky Sports News by
danixavi
Advantages: 24/7 Excellent range of sports news, Soccer saturday is a godsend for football fans!
Disadvantages: There really are none unless if you do not like sport!
...If you are a fan of sport then this is a channel you need to watch. From football to rugby (league and union), tennis to formula 1, cricket to boxing and from golf to American sports like the NFL and even baseball and the NHL this channel has it all and provides news from around the world from each sport to your television screen 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
An excellent layout gives you constant information via a ticker and revolving news stories at the bottom of the screen with tabs letting you know what sport the story is from whilst a strip on the right hand side of the screen displays other information like league tables in football to lists of the football clubs transfer dealings. But the main action happens in the centre of the screen with charismatic, and sometimes good looking, news anchors and reporters who perform...

JD SPORTS
Review of JD Sports (Shop) by
thespurs
Advantages: Exclusives, great range, loads of outlets
Disadvantages: None
...the United Kingdom. JD Sports was founded back in the early 80's and the first outlet opened its doors to the public in December 1981, in Bury. The name JD is derived from the first letter of the two founders' names, John and David. Recently, the number of outlets increased, as the owners purchsed rivals First Sport and began converting the stores. JD Sports has come a long way in a very short space of time and they look set to remain popular for years to come.
It is often the case, that where there is one JD Sports outlet, there will be another one close by. For example, there are two in Southampton, in Islington and on Oxford Street in London and at the shopping centre in Watford. This is very handy because I once wanted a pair of trainers that had sold out in size 10 in one shop, so I went to the other one and they had them. Some of the JD...
