THE FOOTBALL BIBLE
Review of Rothmans Football Yearbook: 1999-2000 - Glenda Rollin, Jack Rollin by
btco
Advantages: Stuffed full of Stats and Info, regular updaes to the book.
Disadvantages: this one is out of date
...I bought the Rothmans Football Yearbook 1999/2000 because I have been getting the book for a while now, Im only missing 3 or 4 out of the enitre 30+ set dating back to 1970. So i knew what i was getting for my money.
Although now the most recent edition of the book 2003/2004 is now known as The Sky Sports Yearbook due to a change of sponsorship after 33 years with Rothmans.
The book often refered to as 'The Football Bible' is the same as all the rest just updated to include the 1998/99 seasons details such as fixtures and results from all the Premier League, Football League , Scottish League as well as including FA Cup, League cup, Scottish Cups results. The book also has a section on all the transfers from the 1998/99 season and has small sections on Non-league, Welsh and Irish football though this is very small in comparison...

A must for football fans and fans of sport alike!
Review of Sky Sports News by
danixavi
Advantages: 24/7 Excellent range of sports news, Soccer saturday is a godsend for football fans!
Disadvantages: There really are none unless if you do not like sport!
...If you are a fan of sport then this is a channel you need to watch. From football to rugby (league and union), tennis to formula 1, cricket to boxing and from golf to American sports like the NFL and even baseball and the NHL this channel has it all and provides news from around the world from each sport to your television screen 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
An excellent layout gives you constant information via a ticker and revolving news stories at the bottom of the screen with tabs letting you know what sport the story is from whilst a strip on the right hand side of the screen displays other information like league tables in football to lists of the football clubs transfer dealings. But the main action happens in the centre of the screen with charismatic, and sometimes good looking, news anchors and reporters who perform...

Your chance to live the life of a Football Manager
Review of Football Manager 2007 (PC) by
RazzaLazza
Advantages: Highly enjoyable, Considerably updated from last years offering
Disadvantages: You'll have to forget any chance of a social life
...Having been a fan of the series for some time, dating back to the early days of Championship Manager 2 which was released some 10 years ago now, every time a new edition is released - I am quick to get out there and bag myself a copy of what I would consider to be the best football management game that there is available. You may wonder why I refer to Championship Manager here given that Championship Manager games continue to be released alongside Football Manager, however up until and including Championship Manager 03/04, Sports Interactive were the team behind the Championship Manager series, however after a split between Sports Interactive and Eidos whereby Sports Interactive signed a deal with Sega - Sports Interactive kept the base code, the game database and programming of the game, bringing this with them to Sega whilst Eidos kept...

TOP 10 FOOTBALLERS
Review of Top 10 Footballers by
Robgingin
Advantages: Great players
Disadvantages: Only recent so most wont agree
..., Shearer is a powerful front man, and whose direct approach to goal scoring makes him extremely difficult to stop. A succession of career-threatening injuries has limited his appearences, but he still ranks alongside the countries greatest. A title winner with Blackburn in 1995, his transfer to home town club Necastle in July 1996 then set a World Record transfer fee of £15 Million.
He has scored a goal on every senior debut, from a hat-trick with Southampton ina match against Arsenal to netting on his first Englan appearence against France in 1992. Badly injured in August 1997, he returned for club and country by February 1998. He retired from international football after Euro 2000 and in the 2000/01 season he was out for several weeks with a knee ligament injury, but overall a top hitman.
--- 3. Luis Figo...

A great sports simulation
Review of Madden NFL 2000 (PC) by
Simoncook1
Advantages: Excellent graphics and very good game play
Disadvantages: A few quirky bugs
...in the game; I even got a 'Who wants to be a millionaire' question on American Football right!
As I still like to play the odd computer game, in between writing on Ciao.com and working full time in two different countries, I decided to purchase an Electronic Arts top ten games pack. One of the games was 'Theme Hospital', see my earlier review, another of the games was Madden 2000. Having enjoyed the early versions of this game, I couldn't wait to jump in.
<The game>
This game is a full simulation of American Football. It allows you to play full seasons, exhibition matches, arced matches or simple practice. For statistic buffs out there, there is a tumultuous amount of data and statistics about each team, their players, their own particular brand of attacking and defending and much much more.
Before you even play one game you can adapt...

Review of Ronaldo V-Football (PSX) by
Carden
Advantages: fff
Disadvantages: fff
...To tell the truth, I do not know, what such V before word "football" (Can virtual?), but such prefix faces to each sports game of company Infogrames, recollect, for example, V-rally. So any dirty trick here is not present, football as football.
However, game rather qualitative, here is all conducting combined teams of all continents, including a command(team) of Russia, that it is very important for us (only recollect, last football game from EA). Not less important and presence of real players, including Brazilian megastar Ranaldo which if not I am mistaken, was not in one game of series FIFA.
As to the game perhaps, she(it) deserves the second place after permanent leader FIFA 2000. The diagram as there is in the low sanction, but a picture precise and detailed. To play easily, there is even an impression, that speeds are much...

The Best Football Game Out Yet !
Review of FIFA 2000 (PC) by
Master_mic_uk
Advantages: Gamplay & Graphics
Disadvantages: Commentry repeats itself a lot
...Fifa 2000
This is a must for all football fans, because as always EA sports have enveloped all of the latest statistics, players and teams in the game as well as fast gameplay with great blistering 3D graphics to watch as you play. This has up-to-date transfers and as well as that you can create teams of your own and build them up to concur Europe. There are a number of games you can play including Europe, leagues and cups also tournaments as well. There is a lot to get at so this deserves thumbs up from me. It's the best football game out to date for any console or PC. I would reccomend this game to anyone with a sporty background and likes to watch and play football also with a bit of a challenge as well. All-in-all this has to be one of the best football games to be brought out yet....

FIFA 2000 - or is it FIFA 1999
Review of FIFA 2000 (PC) by
Carrow_Road_Canary
Advantages: Great graphics
Disadvantages: Too easy + too similar to previous versions
...The new football season arrived, and so EA Sports decided to release another version of their popular football game , FIFA. On its own this game has some great features, with the best graphics I have seen for any game, and you can play leagues, cups or make your own custom built tournaments. There is a training facility, where you can practice penalties, free kicks and many other things. As well as playing the game from many different camera angles, you can select your teams tactics including the offside trap. And on top of all of that if you get too good you can change the speed of the game, the difficulty of the game ...
... well that's what I thought anyway. Changing the options does not seem to affect the game at all, and that is what I don't like about many sports games - you can get so good that there is no challenge...

World's best football management game. Ever.
Review of Football Manager 2005 (PC) by
stevie1976
Advantages: Brilliant.
Disadvantages: You will not want to leave the house ever agin.
...This game has been created by the Gods behind the Championship Manager series of games, Sports Interactive. They recently split from Eidos, who have retained the Cahmpionship Manager name, but apparently the latest incarnation is going to be a bit pants compared to this gem.
I was unaware of the changes made to the game since Championship Manger 01-02 as I havn't had a PC to play it on. As soon as my girlfriend announced she was getting a PC, I went straight out & got it!
The game itself caters for every possible level of football fan as well as for every level of gamer.
When the game starts you pick your team. I picked man Utd as that is the team I love more than the missus. You are then presented with the players. This game is so up to date: Ferdinand is suspended, Soljskaer is injured for the season, Rooney is injured due...

Rugby 2000
Review of Rugby 2000 (PSX) by
jambo5000
Advantages: Its EA sports
Disadvantages: Its not football
...Rugby is more popular than ever, and as depicted in this body-crushing simulation of the sport, it's easy to see why. Like the award-winning FIFA games, Rugby 2000 takes high-end graphics and audio, an official licence, and a realistic approach to the rules and the behaviour of both player and ball, resulting an authentically fierce yet incredibly subtle simulation. Viewing the action from a range of 'in-your-face' viewpoints and angles, the action unfolds in full 3D with authentic looking players moving and behaving just like the real thing. Look closely and you'll even seem them get grubbier as a match progresses. The same ball physics that makes FIFA seem so realistic is also used here, so you can be sure real life strategies yield authentic results. What's more, because this is an officially licensed game, all the team and player...
