Sporting Delights
Review of Sky Sports News by  Yocal

Advantages: 24 hr sports
Disadvantages: hubby is addicted to the channel

...obtain good information from the interviewee. With the hubby assuming is usual position of stretched out on the sofa in the evenings and weekends I have become accustomed to having Sky Sports News on and have found this type of presenting and the use of two presenters helps prevent the viewer from becoming bored with listening to one voice! However, I must admit I do prefer Saturdays when hubby puts sky sports 1 Soccer Saturday Jeff Stelling, he is witty, has a wonderful rapport with the other presenters, thinks nothing of showing his enthusiasm for the game and again some of the outtakes they show at the end of the football season are hysterical. Oh dear I have gone off track a bit here. Just like any other news channel Sky Sports News is dependant on the changing nature of the sporting business. This can lead to sporting news... Read review

A must for football fans and fans of sport alike!
Review of Sky Sports News by  danixavi

Advantages: 24/7 Excellent range of sports news, Soccer saturday is a godsend for football fans!
Disadvantages: There really are none unless if you do not like sport!

...If you are a fan of sport then this is a channel you need to watch. From football to rugby (league and union), tennis to formula 1, cricket to boxing and from golf to American sports like the NFL and even baseball and the NHL this channel has it all and provides news from around the world from each sport to your television screen 24 hours a day 7 days a week. An excellent layout gives you constant information via a ticker and revolving news stories at the bottom of the screen with tabs letting you know what sport the story is from whilst a strip on the right hand side of the screen displays other information like league tables in football to lists of the football clubs transfer dealings. But the main action happens in the centre of the screen with charismatic, and sometimes good looking, news anchors and reporters who perform... Read review

Sky Sports News Every 15 Minutes
Review of Sky Sports News by  carysb

Advantages: Updated, Information, All Sports
Disadvantages: Repetitive,

...like most others aims to be impartial and will release interviews and statements from all sports and a sensible amount of time is even to each news article, they are not rushed and they are informative. Sky Sports News can only be praised over its recent coverage of the Football transfer window as it ran down the clock until midnight. I have to say I watched it all and I was impressed that they had reporters at the majority of locations throughout the country who were wherever they needed to be to dish the dirt. Unfortunately for me the one I was interested in was in Newcastle and the news was all bad. I am pleased that Sky released this channel to the Freeview network so others can benefit from it. It is a good channel and its definitely worth looking at if you need any updates. My criticism of the channel is that it is very... Read review

A Sporting Oracle
Review of news.bbc.co.uk/sports/ by  jonesri

Advantages: Good structure and variety of articles
Disadvantages: Slow Forums, Useless Posts

...Regular readers will know that I am a football fan, but it is not just football that I tend to follow. I like to keep a general interest in most sports, although it does tend to be football that I pay most attention to. Since I started working I have tended to spend some time at the start and end of the day checking on that latest sporting results and news, and BBC Sport has always been my first port of call. ** Background ** BBC Sport is the sport arm of the BBC Interactive service. The BBC website has several different sections covering many areas of interest including general news, radio, sport as well as local services such as weather, what’s on and travel news. The BBC is funded by the television license fee and so is free from advertising. Being funded by the people it is required to provide entertainment and information... Read review

Your chance to live the life of a Football Manager
Review of Football Manager 2007 (PC) by  RazzaLazza

Advantages: Highly enjoyable, Considerably updated from last years offering
Disadvantages: You'll have to forget any chance of a social life

...Having been a fan of the series for some time, dating back to the early days of Championship Manager 2 which was released some 10 years ago now, every time a new edition is released - I am quick to get out there and bag myself a copy of what I would consider to be the best football management game that there is available. You may wonder why I refer to Championship Manager here given that Championship Manager games continue to be released alongside Football Manager, however up until and including Championship Manager 03/04, Sports Interactive were the team behind the Championship Manager series, however after a split between Sports Interactive and Eidos whereby Sports Interactive signed a deal with Sega - Sports Interactive kept the base code, the game database and programming of the game, bringing this with them to Sega whilst Eidos kept... Football Manager on the PSP! Well I never!
Review of Football Manager Handheld 2008 (PSP) by  Rorytheking

Advantages: Addictive, Easy to understand, Fast, Portable, Huge life span (you can just keep on playing!)
Disadvantages: Sound (or rather lack of it), sometimes a little too easy

...-Introduction- Having spent more time playing Football Manager on the good ol' fashioned PC than was probably good for my own health, I was both surprised and intrigued at Sports Interative's (SI) decision to port it over to the PSP. Surprised but not worried. So obviously I went off and purchased my copy and after playing for a decent while I can safely say that SI Games have done a top job. -The Gameplay- If you've ever played, or even glimpsed at a copy of either Football Manager or perhaps even Championship Manager you'll know that essentially what you're doing is spending several glorious hours at a time looking at basically, a set of glamorous spreadsheets. Cool eh? As you can probably guess, in Football Manager Handheld (FMH) you take control of your chosen team in the football world, be it Chelsea or Cheltenham... Read review

Sports as far as the eye can see
Review of Sky Sports News by  mynameisrui

Advantages: All the latest sports news
Disadvantages: Can get a bit repetitive

...that SSN tend to follow the same format. They will talk about football related stories for around 40 - 45 mins and if there are other pieces of news from other sports then they will fill in the last 15 minutes with this. During times when there is no football (i.e. end of season) then SSN dedicate more time to the sports being played and football takes a bit of a back seat. Throughout all the programming, there is an info bar at the bottom of the screen where all the latest news is displayed in case you did not hear them mention it. This is broken down into the various leagues for football and every other sport has just one section. To the right of the screen are the latest tables from each football league and the list of top scorers. At the moment they are also showing the transfers in and out for each club. Overall I have to say SSN... Read review

I'm sweet on sports
Review of Lion Sports Mixtures by  ginger59

Advantages: good for car journies, a lot in a bag
Disadvantages: bit hard , little children could choke on them

...Sports mixtures have existed for donkey's years! What makes them special is that they are shaped into different sporting images, such as sailing boats, tennis raquets, rugby balls, cricket stumps, cricket bats, footballs and so on. I still like to see what I'm eating!! I remember buying them by the quarter (4 ounces for those of you ho don't know how much this was..a quarter of a pound! Might be close to 100 grams now) or 2 ounces (if I didn't have much moneyfrom traditional sweet shops, when they had them in jars on shelves and you had to ask the person behind the counter to weigh them out for you on the old fahioned scales. I really miss this aspect of shopping- modern shopping has no time for the old fashioned way of shopping when you browzed for ages wondering what sweeties to buy with your spending money. Now it's all rush rush... Read review

So how much do you REALLY know about football
Review of Football Confidential - Ian Bent by  free4susan

Advantages: Very interesting themes
Disadvantages: A bit short - a lot of typos

...interesting chapter on Belgian Jean-Louis DuPont, the lawyer who took on the Bosman case and brought it to its successful conclusion. As a result of this case he is much in demand from football federations in Europe. Where exactly does sport end and the law begin? Is football really a sport anymore, or is it big business? If it's both, how to find agreement between sporting minds and legal minds? 2. Star Wars - The Premier League's battle with the "Satellite Pirates". UEFA rules forbid a country from showing its' live matches on telly on a Saturday afternoon. However, they can be transmitted in other countries. Hence, in the Republic of Ireland for instance we could once (when our national station paid for it!) watch live English matches on a Saturday afternoon. The same is true of Norway. As Norwegian homes can be out in very remote... Read review

BMW 325i SPORT - MY DAILY DRIVER
Review of BMW 325i Sport by  BARNEYM1979

Advantages: STYLING, IMAGE, BUILD QUALITY, ATTENTION TO DETAIL
Disadvantages: LACK OF SPACE, EXPENSIVE SPARES/SERVICING

...Last year, I replaced my 1999 BMW 323iSE saloon with a 2002 BMW 325i Sport. The 323iSE was a very impressive car, and my first from the marque. It gave me several thousand miles of problem free motoring. It was also surprisingly economical for a 2.5 litre straight 6 cylinder, generally returning an average of 31 miles per gallon. However, the mileage was getting a little high (80,000 miles in 3 years), so I looked again to BMW for its replacement. Originally, I was looking for a 330i, and it was in pursuit of just such a car that I found myself at a local franchise dealer. However, the 2000 330i I had intended to see there had not been prepared, and I was understandably disappointed. It was at this point that the salesman mentioned a low mileage 2002 BMW 325i Sport that he had in stock. Obviously as the car was newer, with a much... Read review
