Wii Sports - Best Free Console Game Ever
Review of Wii Sports (Wii) by  sosull

Advantages: Free, 7 modes in total, 5 different sport modes to play, lots of additional training modes
Disadvantages: Graphics could be a little bit better. baseball feels a little TOO tough

...Unless you happen to be considering a Wii purchase in Japan, your Wii Console will come bundled with a full copy of Wii Sports; Nintendo's free bundled game which I feel adds extra value to your initial purchase. There's no escaping the fact that Wii Sports is not just a friendly gesture from Nintendo, but a "demo-of-sorts" for the fantastic Wii-mote controller and the accompanying Nunchuk. For those who have played older consoles, such as the PlayStation 2, you will almost all be familiar with the 'two hand' style controller and so the change to the Wii-mote / Nunchuk combination is a little different. Wii Sports comes with 5 different Sports games in which you can play through, as well as a Training Mode and a Fitness Mode. I'll go into the two latter modes in a little while, but first let us take a look at the main 5 Sports... Read review

Computer Gaming As A Sport - The Positive Position
Review of Games by  chastine

Advantages: Nothing in particular
Disadvantages: Nothing in particular

...Computer Gaming is fast becoming the next evolution in interactive entertainment. Can its proclamation as a SPORT be far behind? Or will the "real" sports buff prove the better point. The Positive Position True, a sport is an activity involving physical exertion and skills governed by a set of rules or customs and often undertaken competitively. But it is also true that there are sports that require you to exert less physical effort and require you to have the skill at the same time, like chess or billiards; and they are called sports, all the same. Video games could be considered as a sport. Video games have some factors common in sports: Cooperation, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Yes, playing basketball games on your computer with a keyboard or a game pad certainly won't give you an adrenalin rush, and it also isn't my idea... Read review

Wii sports cheapest game ever
Review of Wii Sports (Wii) by  mcleism01

Advantages: it's free, 5 sports game, easy to play, helps you use the wii remote
Disadvantages: maybe too a bit too simple

...Wii sports comes free when you purchase a nintendo wii and it is a great way to help you learn how to use the wii remote. You have a choice of five games tennis, baseball, bowling, golf and boxing all of which are enjoyable, fun and easy to play. Tennis is without doubt the best of the five sports in wii sports, You have the choice of playing a one, three or five game match and your goal, as in all the sports game, is to try and get your skill level as high as possibly. As you get better the people you play get proggresively harder and the hardest prson you play has a skill level of 2000. However, the best thing about wii sports is multiplayer and you feel much more satisfaction in beating somone you know rather than beating the computer, even though you don't earn skill points. Baseball is a decent game but in my opinion... Read review

Wiicked Game - Wii Sports
Review of Wii Sports (Wii) by  GKnows

Advantages: Fitness Test, Fun Games, Wow
Disadvantages: Could of had more games, more features.

...A game that comes free with the console? It is destined to suck, but Nintendo proved us wrong with the fantastic Wii Sports. Games: -------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------- Tennis - Tennis is definately the best game on Wii Sports, it is for up to 4 players, and the response times are brilliant, you use your own personal Mii on the court for a doubles match, and it is really, really fun. Bowling - I was really looking forward to bowling, and i have to say, i was slightly disappointed. I am quite good at bowling in real life, but on Wii, when i bowl, it goes straight ahead, but then, near the very end it suddenly turns, there is no way that happens in real life, but bowling is still good, and don't let my moans about it put you off, i have always been a bad loser. :-) Golf... Wii sports game
Review of Wii Sports (Wii) by  giles-y

Advantages: Keeps you fit and your gran will play
Disadvantages: none

...Wii sports has to be the Best most interactive game i have ever played yet it is so easy my gran can play it and she is good at it too. With Wii sports you get 5 great games including Tennis, Bowling, Boxing, Golf, and Baseball all are great fun to play and to me felt just like the real thing. The control movements are very realistic i think the more you get in to it and move like a bowler or tennis player the eaiser is gets. The first game i played was bowling. The graphics are clear and animated well. the controls explained when you first play you simply line up your shot swing your arm like your throwing a bowling ball and well you throw the ball. the controls not only dectect your back and forward swing but can detect the spin in your wrist and spin the ball in that direction amazing. after a few throws this felt like real... Wii sports - A good all round starter game
Review of Wii Sports (Wii) by  HarMarSuperstar

Advantages: Fun, energetic
Disadvantages: repetitive

...As the free game to come with the Wii console, this is not too bad a game. There are 5 sport areas you can play in: Tennis, Baseball, Boxing, Golf & Bowling. In Tennis you play doubles against either a friend (need a second Wiimote for this) or against the computer, and your team you can either play both front and back, or choose the computer to play a position alongside you. Games can be either a single game, set of 3 or set of 5, and as you win more games, your rating increases, but so does the difficulty of your opponents. In Baseball you start off the game batting, and the computer will pitch at you. If you get three batters out in an innings, then you switch and will bowl. You can hold the A + B buttons on the wiimote to bowl different types of ball, (Screwball, Curve, Fast) Again, as you win more games, the difficulty... Read review

Just Another 'Xtreme' Sports Game...
Review of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 (GameCube) by  Rickoss

Advantages: Very Addictive
Disadvantages: Graphics Aren't Too Good

...to perform the best tricks and cover the most area, if you prefer a ‘Cat & Mouse’ 2-Player game, King of Hill is perfect, keep the crown for as long as possible, contact sport more for you? Slap is perfect, you’ll get you pound your opponents head in! Maybe something turn based is more for you, choose Horse, you have to set a score for one trick then your foe must beat your score to give you a letter, get to Horse and lose! The game isn’t a ‘must-buy’ title, but it is very fun to play and for skateboarding fans, all their dreams come true. RiCkOsS... Read review

Boycotting the Beijing Olympic Games
Review of Boycotting the Beijing Olympic Games, should politics have a place in sports? by  jceaser1954

Advantages: Just my opinion
Disadvantages: None unless you are the oppressor

...In my opinion, politics should have a place in sports under special circumstances like Tibet situation. Beating, maiming, brutalising people is not something that should be tolerated in the world today so if it takes boycotting a particular sport for a government to observe the rights of all its citizens and that of others, so be it. Olympic Games are for fun and sportsmanship but the world should be looking the other way in the name of sports when others are being oppressed and abused. At the end of the day, sports can only take place in an atmosphere of peace and tranquility so we need to do all we can in our little war to preserve that including boycotting if need be.... Sport.com:The Game
Review of sport.com by  cache

Advantages: Playing with someone else's money
Disadvantages: You can loose the money quickly

...Sport.com:The game is probably the best site for gambling I have come across on the net. It covers everything football, horse racing, tennis, rugby you name it. They give you £100 to start with and then you can bet on the odds of the given matches. You are ranked overall to how well you’ve placed your bets and how much you won. It’s a lot fun playing with someone else’s money! In your account it tells you what you have won and what you have lost in any week that you have played. Yes you do win prizes if you top the league.... Read review

Wii SPORTS IS BIGGER THAN YOU THINK!
Review of Wii Sports (Wii) by  mdstone

Advantages: Hours of fun, great multiplayer action, get the best out of your Wii remote
Disadvantages: Limited sequences for single player gameplay

...If you're thinking of purchasing a Nintendo Wii then you will want to know what the included Wii Sports pack has to offer. Wii Sports is bundled with every Wii console and includes a compilation of 5 multiplayer games consisting of Tennis, Bowling, Baseball, Golf and Boxing. All game modes offer you the chance to set records by getting the best possible score every time you play. The games are designed to bring out the best in the Wii remote in terms of performing swings and throws etc. They are also designed as being fun party games so don't expect too much of a single player mode on these as this is better kept for dedicated sports games. Miis ****** The first thing you should do before playing the game is to create your own Wii character referred to as a Mii. This is something you can do from your console's main menu... Read review
