Advantages: cheap, brand named sportswear Disadvantages: usually very busy & crowded
...Sport & Soccer is a great shop if you want to buy branded sportswear at a reasonable price.
They sell a huge variety of tops, jumpers, tracksuit bottoms, trainers, footballs, bags, golf equipment, roller blades, hats, ski boots, and pretty much any other kind of sportswear in between.
All of their goods are BRAND NEW and the latest (as in current style/current football strips/England shirts/trainers). They seem to buy in bulk, so they can offer very competitive prices, and as such, their prices are significantly less than in other sports shops such as JJB.
Quite a large part of their stock consists of Donnay, or Umbro. And it is these makes that you can pick up really cheaply. T-Shirts for under £10 for men and women, and this range is especially good for young kids, as they are less style-conscious! I recently picked up...
...This is just one of those shops which really really needs to change it's name. I first came across the place when I moved to Cardiff a few years ago, and I was looking for a new swimming costume. In Cardiff, SportsSoccer is situated just opposite the Capitol arcade, but if you're not from the area, you can usually find a branch of sportssoccer in most relatively large towns.
Anyway, back to my search for a swimming costume. Well, I'm afraid to say, that I took one look at SportsSoccer, presumed it was a sports shop catering for football equipment, and walked straight past.
It wasn't until serveral months later, when I was out shopping with my boyfriend in one of Cardiff's frequent downpours, that he dragged me soggie, kicking and screaming into this "awful football shop!". Well, much to my surprise and delight, the first thing...
Advantages: Cheap prices and large stores Disadvantages: Generally ugly clothes
...It's interesting to find what's being built right under your nose, and whilst it has been open for quite some time now when a massive new Sports World (formerly known as SportsSoccer) opened in a new shopping park just outside of the usual shopping area in Cambridge, I was obliged to find out what it's like. This now not very newish Sports World isn't the only one Cambridge has to offer though, as there is also one in the centre of town - that's not too shabby in size either. What exactly do these shops have to offer? Well I'll be happy to let you know.
With the arrival of the new Sports World came an influx of a brand I had hardly ever heard of before, Lonsdale. Hmm.. what's that I thought. It didn't look very nice but people seemed to be picking up new outfits of it by the bucketful from somewhere. I wondered where, and not to be...

Review of SportsSoccer (Shop)
...Am I the only person not to be taken in by this company?
I cannot deny that it is cheap - that goes without saying, but isn't there more to retail than that? If I just wanted cheap I would never leave home. Sometimes I want advice, sometimes I want service, sometimes I want quality and if I am shopping I most certainly want it to be a good experience.
I love sport, I love branded clothing and so I have visited Sports Son numerous occasions. Mainly because I keep forgetting how bad the experience was last time!
What is the experience? You go in the store - if you can get in for all the crappy umbrellas and buckets full of socks in the entrance. You can't move between the mountains of stock piled high left right and centre, 99% of which is awful Donnay, Slazenger, Lonsdale or whatever other brand owner Mike Ashley has bought...
Advantages: good quality across the range, many top names at good prices Disadvantages: too many queues, staff are largely morons
...SportSoccer now seems to have branches all over the place, though I’d suspect it is still firmly centred around the Home Counties. Many of their branches that I frequent have been undergoing a refit and enlargement, so I’d have to guess the business was thriving.
So that nicely brings me to ‘the business’.
This chain of Sports stores started life as Sport & Ski. Trading in Shopping Malls and stocking winter gear for the skier, in addition to general sports gear like T-Shirts, Polos, Sweats and Jackets. Also, there were always racks of trainers, football boots etc for both Adults and Children. This brought them a niche market. It was a shop you could kit little Johnny out for his new school with some respectable labels like Umbro,. Adidas and the now ubiquitous Donnay. While the teenagers and more label...

Review of SportsSoccer (Shop)
Advantages: CHEAP, AND A FUN PLACE TO WORK Disadvantages: POOR PAY, MANAGERS DONT CARE ABOUT STAFF JUST PROFIT
...I am a sportssoccer employee and I wholly agree with your views of the shop 100%.
I agree that the shop layout is very crampt, and the number of injuries that I have witnessed over the last few months that I have worked there where people have walked into stands and cut them selves etc. It is a serious health and safety problem.
The part time staff (like me) who work 10 hour shifts on weekends and after school get treated like crap by full time workers. We are not thick, dumb people, we get paid £30 for 10 hour shifts and £15 for 5 hour shifts with only 15min break for 5 hour shifts and 1 hour for the 10 hour shifts. This makes us tired, so we do get annoyed when people ask for the best selling stuff to be brought down from the top shelves. When they should be in easy reach of the customer anyways.
Another thing, You may have...
Advantages: Wide range of stock, large stores Disadvantages: Staff have social skills comparable to a gerbil
...I?m not exactly a style guru. You?re more likely to find me in some backstreet shop buying something cheap-and-cheerful than shelling out on trendy clothes from big names. But in this instance some new trousers were desperately in order, and as my mum had kindly volunteered to pay, what had I to lose? So I ventured into SportsSoccer. This op is based on my experience today with the Milton Keynes branch. Others may be different, although frankly I rather doubt it.
First impressions are important, and SportsSoccer certainly impresses. My local shopping centre features not one but TWO SportsSoccer stores ? I plumped for the bigger one. The store advertises its presence with huge lit-up signs across its vast shop front, and baskets of footballs and other goods placed enticingly near the entrance. Having far too many footballs already...
Advantages: affordable sportswear, massive selection Disadvantages: not particularly well labelled
...Harlow now proudly boasts a new sports wear shop in the name of SportsSoccer. It is located alongside the UGC cinema in the DIY industrial shopping area at Templefields.
I visited it for the first time yesterday and was very impressed. Although Harlow already has many sports wear shops located in the town centre, SportsSoccer offers a much wider range of clothing and accessories but at mega discounted prices.
Being that this shop occupies an industrial unit it boasts a large shop floor with a first floor to it too.
The layout is not particularly well laid out nor labelled in anyway, but to be honest at those prices I didn't mind that bit as I hunted around everything in my own orderly fashion sniffing out the bits that I liked best.
The cheapest sports brand that they offer is Donnay International, they also offer...
Advantages: loads of goals and funny events from the world of football Disadvantages: can be a bit boring at times
...Soccer am is a great tv show all about the glorious game that is football shown on sky sports one and for some reason sky one between 9am and 12pm on saturday mornings. The programme started back in 1995, but only one of the original presenters still remains, the lovely Helen Chamberlain (Torquay Utd supporter). She has been a feature of the show since its creation, but she has had many male presenters during that time. The best and longest serving was Tim Lovejoy (Chelsea supporter) who now appears on Saturday Kitchen. He was very funny, if at times rather irritating and since he has left i feel the programme has gone downhill slightly. The current co presenter is Max Rushden, who is new to the show this season - he supports Cambridge Utd. Other notable members of the team include Tubes (poses questions to the unsuspecting guests and is...
...This Italian footballer thinks he is going to score a goal. He is a Playmobil toy footballer all kitted out in the blue and white strip with the red and green colours at the neck of the shirt that also has a white collar. . This played has dark hair brown beady eyes and a winning smile.
This player can be in many different playing positions wearing different numbers several stick on numbers come in the pack with him. A standing support comes with this footballer and he has his own football. A paper goal target sheet also comes with this footballer
This Playmobil footballer measures 7 cm} 2.3/4 inches tall. His arms move, his hands grasp His legs will bend at the hip so he can get a good kick.
This footballer is suitable for a child aged 4 and older.
I actually though this football player would be ideal for a putting on top...
