So when I felt last week very stressed and in need of 24hrs complete relaxation I couldn?t think of a better place to go. I had never been to Champneys Springs before and so was very excited as to what it would be like and wondering whether I might bump into a celebrity on my stay there. Alice Springs to the rocks!

Advantages: good for people on a budget
Disadvantages: not a hotel so standard is alot less

...Alice Springs Pioneer YHA While I was in Australia we made are way to the centre and got to stay a night in Alice Springs. As we had booked the rest of our hostels through YHA we decided to keep it simple and book Alice Springs through them too. YHA Australia is part of the world's largest backpacker accommodation network, Hostelling International (HI), providing more than 4,000 YHA hostels in over 60 countries. To be honest each hostel is individually run so the standard does vary. Each hostel is given stars Alice Springs was 4 star. Alice Springs YHA had a reception where you could ask any questions you wanted. If you had any problems with your room or you wanted to book a trip all could be done here. The director, Kim Ki-Duk, is perhaps one of South Korea's most prolific, occasionally controversial (see Bad Guy and The Isle to understand why), filmmakers working today. Allegedly, Kim Ki-Duk though an art student, never saw a film until he was thirty. Now whether this means he never critically watched films prior to his thirties, had literally never seen a whole film or if he is attempting to create a mythology for himself much like Hitchcock might have done is hard to know. But it is hard to believe with the proliferation of cinemas, with film regularly appearing on TV that Kim Ki-Duk could really contrive never to watch a film for thirty years. Springs is just south of Ashby de la Zouch near to Measham and junction 12 of the M42/A42. There were quite a group of people who wanted to go, some stayed for the weekend (£209.95), some just stayed overnight on Saturday (£99.95) and three of us just went for the day on Saturday. We chose the ‘Springs Day’ costing £74.95 payable when we booked last September. This included an introduction and coffee on arrival at 9am, a buffet lunch, a full body massage, a facial and unlimited use of all the facilities until departure at 6pm. Advantages: A real outback town, see the famous School of the air 7 flying doctor Service
Disadvantages: Hot and the FLIES !

...THE ALICE Ever since reading Neville Shute?s ?A Town Like Alice? when I was about sixteen, I?ve had this great desire to see Alice Springs. Alice is famous for a number of the more famous Australian icons such as the Flying Doctor Service and the School of the Air. It is also well known for it?s famous boat Henley on Todd; the river so rarely has water in it that this boat race is run by people ?wearing? or carrying boats with the bottoms cut out and carried along the dry river bed. The year there was water in the Todd River this boat race had to be cancelled! We flew from Darwin to Alice Springs which has a small airport but fresh and modern looking. Review of Alice Springs in general

A Spring Without Voices

Advantages: Quality of writing, quality of content.
Disadvantages: It's not what you'd call uplifting.

She?s rather green you see and Silent Spring was one of the first things to set her on the environmental path. Written in the sixties by Carson, a naturalist, it was one of the first books and certainly one of the most powerful, even now, to talk of the dangers of the wholesale use of highly toxic chemicals as herbicides and pesticides, in particular DDT. I think I?m a bit of a disappointment to my mother. I?ve grown up to be rather a half- hearted green. I bung some money at Friends of the Earth every month, I recycle, I cough up the extra for organic produce at Tesco. We?ve even got a compost bin. Not that I go anywhere near it you understand. Here comes spring, welcome in all forms!

Advantages: Cheap and more than cheerful.
Disadvantages: Don't look as nice as they taste.

...I have always had a penchant for Chinese food, my favourite being the only Chinese food item that I would eat in my teens, hence the review I am doing now! The product I will now review are ? Asda?s 4 spring rolls? The packaging, as with most of Asda?s own product range is simple yet effective. The box is cardboard and a lot smaller than the standard ready meal boxes, which is how it should be, less content less packaging, if only all companies had the same idea! The box simple holds a picture of the spring rolls with some chopsticks in the background, obviously to emphasise the ?Chinese? element! The base of the box is sky blue in colour and holds all the relevant information, brand name, product name, cooking methods, weight, nutritional information?..etc. All of which I will get to in due course. Review of Asda Spring Rolls

A great stay in the wonderful town of Alice Springs

Advantages: Great value, close to town, provide everything you need
Disadvantages: Cold in caravans, padlocks don't keep doors locked

...Alice Lodge Backpackers is a small and quiet lodge in the small desert town of Alice Springs in the Northern Territory of Australia. There are only a few hostels to choose from here and Alice Lodge is one of the best. The lodge has dorm rooms and caravans. We stayed in a caravan (double at $63/£30 a night) which was nice having our own little room but personally I wouldn't recommend staying in one as they were freezing at night. That's the thing about the desert - even though it's baking hot in the day, at night temperatures rapidly drop and it's freezing! We had a small radiator in the caravan which was kept on constantly but that didn't do much to heat it up we had to wrap up in trousers and jumpers under the covers. Other than that the caravan was lovely and it also contained a fridge and a table and chair. It had a padlock...

I didn't see no silver springs but, I did find a good bed!

...I stayed at the Silver springs hotel during at the end of April 2009 during a work trip - the hotel is a 4* property that is located in Cork and is literally on the outskirts of the city centre as you come of the main road leading into Cork. It is a fairly large hotel for it's location with plenty of facilities and I was looking forward to experiencing his hotel. First impressions: As you come down the main road from Cork airport the hotel is located on the right hand side. However to get to it you must take the exit to the left hand side which takes you over the bridge and across to the hotel. This is because the hotel is built on a slight hill. So as you first spot the hotel it actually looks quite impressive and also quite modern looking with the building of a grey colour which sounds drab but, it isn't! The car park is spread...
