Yamada DVX-6700
Review of Yamada DVX 6700 by
bristol_steve
Advantages: It plays EVERYTHING
Disadvantages: Cheap construction
...My Christmas present to myself this year was the “Yamada-DVX-6700” – which looks like a DVD player, works rather like a DVD player but offers a special something extra - this unit not only plays DVDs but many other digital formats too.
The device cost me ~£55 – to make it price comparable with other DVD players… It replaces a CyberHome “CH DVD 400” which only plays bone-fide DVDs – and cost the same 18 months ago. The build quality of the Yamada is best described as “cheap” – but… don’t get me wrong – it looks OK next to the TV – only if you look closely is it obvious that every component has been made to the tightest of budgets – everything from the flimsy eject-tray to the front-panel plastic buttons and cheesy digital display which might have looked modern in the 1980s. To criticise the unit on aesthetics, however...

Uniross Sprint 90 crawls across the line
Review of Uniross Sprint 90 min Nickel Metal Hydride by
craggybuk
Advantages: Fast Charge Times
Disadvantages: Poor design, poor performance
...Every since I bought my first digital camera, rechargeable batteries have become a must. My first charger, the Uniross RC101159 had coped admirably for 4 years with my trusty Olympus 1.3 megapixel camera. However, when I upgraded to my Samsung 7 megapixel camera. The 1300mAH batteries were no longer able to cut the mustard for more than 5 or 6 shots.
As Uniross had demonstrated with their earlier model, the quality that they posess, I went for the Sprint 90 model as the charge time was far superior to anything I had seen before. The charger also came with the more powerful 2100mAh batteries which I thought would solve all my problems.
According to the instructions, the unit would charge my 2100 batteries up in 90 minutes and my 1300 ones in under an hour. In reality the 2100 batteries are only taking 30-40 minutes to charge...

Bargain basement S-VHS
Review of JVC HR-S6700EK by
dnh9
Advantages: Bargain price for S-VHS quality. Easy to set up. Host of features.
Disadvantages: Noisy playback motor
...The bargain was irresistible when I saw the highly specified JVC HR-S6700EK on sale for £300. And subsequently I've seen it being offered for under £250.
Unfortunately, when I first tried it out, there was obviously something wrong with the playback quality. No matter how many settings I changed, it still gave a slightly "fuzzy" image. I still own a 10 year old JVC HR-S5000EK (which cost me £800 back then). Oddly, an S-VHS recording made on the new 6700EK played back reasonably sharply on the old 5000EK.
I took the 6700EK back to Comet at Team valley, Gateshead, and explained my predicament. They exchanged it for another within 10 minutes. Excellent service!
The replacement 6700EK works well. Although the playback quality is arguably still not as sharp as the old 5000EK, you hardly notice.
The recorder offers "ET...

New Photo Printer? Look No Futher!
Review of Canon PIXMA IP6700D by
Craigshadow12
Advantages: Stylish,On printer controls, Easy to set up
Disadvantages: Some minor problems with borders and canceling
...leave it with finger marks, however on the surface of this machine the finger marks seem non existent on its grey metallic finish. The finish of this machine also seems to eliminate a build up of dust which makes this machine look as good as new as time goes on.
Overview
=
This is the latest in Canons top new range of six photo printers. I have not tested the others in the series but I am assured by others that the 6700D is the best that has been released. The printer uses six individual I tanks filled with a dye-based ink. A good feature of this machine that is not apparent on all printers is the ability to work from the printer rather than your PC. You can do pretty much anything using the easy to use controls on the front of this device such as simply printing photos or at a touch of a button you can transfer stored pictures...

A Stunning DVD Player
Review of Yamada DVX 6700 by
SuperJuan
Advantages: Plays Almost Everything, Quiet Operation, Great value
Disadvantages: Slightly poor build quality, but just treat it nicely!
...-iso-type files.
However, you can easily get comupter software to convert most things that it can't play, into things that it can!
Things I Like About The 6700:
Price - Great Value For Money
Size - it's very sleek and slim, the display is nice and clear, the cd draw is super-thin, and very unusual, not seen one like this on other dvd players.
Compatabilty - You can make almost any file work on it!
Interface- Great remote control - the main buttons even glow in the dark! the menu system is clear and easy to read/understand.
Upgrades - There are official upgrades, and also privately devolped ones, each has various features for getting the most out of the player.
Things I didn't like:
Nothing apart from the build quailty, it seems a little bit flimsy, but if you are careful with it, then it will be fine. Overall...

The best value for money processor on the market.
Review of Intel Core 2 Duo E6700 / 2.66 GHz processor by
benzas
Advantages: Blistering Speed
Disadvantages: None
...'s needed to maximise the efficiency of processing.
The core 2 duo processor is avaiable in several variants, from the e6300 up to the extreme series ex6800, which is the same as the chip i've got, but clock unlocked, so the processor speed is even faster.
There really is no set of chips on the market to rival these, if you're after a cheap upgrade, the e6300 or e6400 are a bargain, for serious power i highly recommend the e6700, which is just amazing....

Great performer
Review of Intel Core 2 Quad Q6700 / 2.66 GHz processor by
AdamHonek
Advantages: Fast, quad core, cool running, guranteed G0 stepping
Disadvantages: Q6600 can be had for half the price for only 266MHz less performance
...Very good efficient, cool running, high performing quad core processor that will give your PC a good turn of speed.
The good news is that you're guaranteed to get a newer G0 stepping version if you buy this CPU as that's the only stepping offered at present. You can confirm this using the Intel Processor Identification tool on their website. G0 means it runs cooler than the older B3 stepping but also is bound to overclock more.
The bad news is that i's 2x the price of a Q6600 for only 266MHz more performance. As long as you can get yourself a G0 stepping Q6600 there doesn't seem a point in spending double on this Q6700, unless you want the 10x multiplier for something.
Anyone who does video/audio editing, or 3D modeling with applications that take use of the extra cores will profoundly be delighted with this CPU. It makes...

Simple to use combined DVD/VCR
Review of Samsung DVD-V 6700 by
gadget_hound
Advantages: Easy to use, quick operation, good quality playback
Disadvantages: Remote control buttons small, front panel display small and basic
...The Samsung DVD-V6700S (UK version) comes in attractive silver and is quite a wide unit as it supports both DVD playing and video tape recording/playing. The unit height is low, giving a slim appearance, but make sure you have room for the width.
A good number of digital/analogue I/O (including on the front panel) allows it to be connected in many combinations to other equipment.
Video/sound quality is good, including tape recording/playback.
The front panel display is small, making it difficult to see from across the room, though there's not much information on it.
Remote control buttons are small with the legends difficult to see if your eyesight is not so good. Operation is straightforward though.
The on-screen menus aren't too well arranged but it doesn't take too long to understand them.
TV channel setup...

FLAWLESS BIKE
Review of Triumph Sprint ST by
PAPOOSE
Advantages: comfort, handling, power, gorgeous looks and finish
Disadvantages: None. Not a darn thing wrong with it!
...I loved the looks, but was afraid because it was British. My MG's broke down daily in the old days. Triumphs have had less than a perfect record in their older days. Following my so-called better judgment, in June 2002 I bought a Honda Nighthawk 750 new, thinking it would do the job. It was 100% reliable and a good local commuter, but quite scary at high speeds (over 65 MPH U.S.). That was the death blow for me. I'm a family man, and need maximum safety and handling.
I went on a major research campaign to find the safest handling, best compromise. My goal was (1) safety and handling; (2) big fat tire in the back; (3) lots of power; (4) reliability; and (5) looks - in that order. I wasn't looking much at Triumph, but all research kept pointing back to the Sprint ST. After reading review after review, all of which...

Parts with sprint....!
Review of Lipton Ice Tea by
lovefairy
Advantages: it does good to the body and the mind
Disadvantages: --
...The first breakfast for me it is a ritual, the more important meal of the day!
If the morning I do not eat are of bad humor, with the moral under the feet, me turns the head, me the pressure is lowered, feels weak person... so one disastrous feeling!
With the beginning of the warmth my breakfast is changed.
As soon as wide awake, instead of the milk ones with the cereals, I take a big glass of tea cold Lipton Ice Tea with lemon and a package of biscuits and my day begins with sprint and wants to make.
Lipton Ice Tea is to my existing best opinion one of cold tea on the market.
It's just those that us it wants in order to strengthen body and mind.
Because it has been tried that in the leaves of tea an amino acid is present, the teanina, than it is connected to one be mental alert but relaxed.
Drink you helps me to concentrate to me...
