Advantages: Easy to use & light weight

...I got the "Squier Fender SA100 Acoustic Guitar" from my wife Susan for Christmas. You know what its like, they ask you what you want for Christmas and you say "I am not bothered anything", Well this year I was telling her I wanted to learn how to play an Acoustic Guitar. The joke was I would serenade her down the allotment in the summer :). Susan said I was not having one as she knows I would probably turn up at her job as sing to her. I do silly thing like send her a dozen red roses for Valentines Day etc. Well imagine my surprise to find a BIG box in the front room on Christmas day, knowing what the kids had got I knew it was for me. Advantages: Good price, excellent guitar

...I purchased my Squier Strat guitar as a package including a Squier 10 watt practice amp, a video and a set of strings for £200 two years ago. Although I am now an experienced guitarists, I have not found the need to purchase another guitar. The neck is thin (like the original stratocastor) which allows the players to “clamp down” and play crisp clear barre chords. The bridge can be adjusted to raise and lengthen the strings ad the guitar features a five position selector switch to vary the sound output. The frets are narrow compared to Gibson guitars which will work as an advantage to beginners. One major drawback I have found with this guitar is the machine heads (tuning keys). One machine head on my guitar in particular has to be turned a about a quarter of the way before the string begins to tighten or loosen... Read review

...Squier has made their guitars in many diferent countries like USA, Japan, Korea and now aswell in China. about 1 year ago I bought a Chinese Squier Stratocaster. Tried it out in the shop on a not so good amplifier. The sound wasn't great, but it played nice. Price was about $100.00 so I just bought it for fun. At home I plugged it in at my 100 watts Marshall amplifier and found out that it was completely imposible to use this guitar on stage. It screams, yells, hisses and hums, lots of feedback. The pickups are bad and so is the sound. But, the neck is nice. I also have a Squier Stagemaster, also from China, and it has great action. Looks like these Chinese know how to make necks. At the end I took of the neck and put it on a guitar that I build myself and am very satisfied with the results. The neck is not an excact copy... Read review

...The Squier Stagemaster is made in china, has a Stratocaster-like hardwood body, but without the pickguard. It comes in the collors blue (beautifull), purple (horrible) and gold (never seen). It has a 24 fret neck with a rosewood fingerboard. The headstock is upside down and that gives it a Jimi Hendrix-like look. Mine is a beautifull dark metalic blue. My guitar spends most of its time on stage and after 2 years of Rock & Roll it still looks great. Very good paintjob. The headstock is also blue, wich gives it a very clasy look. This guitar comes with a good working Floyd Rose Licenced tremolo and locknut. All the hardware is black, and all the space between the bridge and the neck is filled up with black pickups (humbucker, singlecoil, humbucker) and that gives this guitar a kind of hightech image. This is the Squier version of the Stratocaster, probably the most iconic electric guitar design there is. The starter pack includes: The guitar Strap plectrums tuition book amp The guitar itself is well built, some people find that the volume/tone knobs may occasionally come loose but that's easy to fix and does not affect playability in any way. It comes with three single-coil pickups and a 5-way-selector switch. Putting the selector switch in positions 2 or 4 allows two pickups to be used at the same time, cleverly the middle pick up has been wound in the opposite direction to the other two, meaning that using this in conjunction with the neck or bridge pickup acts in a way similar to a humbucker. ...I bought my Squier Strat over seven years ago and I still have it (along with several other guitars) and play it today. Its lasted so long in my guitar collection because it is a well made and pleasant sounding instrument. CONSTRUCTION The body is well finished and the rosewood fingerboard and neck are hard to tell apart from the £500plus official Fender version! I had to have the pickup switch replaced after five years, but for a budget switch that was used almost everyday this is very good! The guitar is relatively light, so good if you tire easily or want to gig/jam stood up. The guitar is cosmetically excellent. You will not get a guitar at this price that mimics the Fender Stratocaster so well and is made to such a high standard! SOUND The guitar sounds best through the clean channel of my (marshall) amp...
