Yamaha SR125

Advantages: Comforable, light on fuel, easy to repair
Disadvantages: Sluggish on cornering

...The Yamaha SR125 is a small, custom-style bike. Being 5'3", it was a good choice for my first bike. It's reliable and easy to ride. Over the 5 years that I owned one, all I needed to do was give it an annual service, apart from topping up the oil and replacing the headlight bulb. The bulb needed replacing, on average, about once a year. It uses the same 12v type as a scooter so there was no lack of supply. ( Scooter shops seemed to offer it cheaper than dedicated motorbike shops). The other cosmetic items that occaisionally needed replacing were the clutch and brake handles. Also pretty inexpensive, about £12, depending on where you buy from. The rear brake is a drum brake which is quite old-fashioned now, but easy enough to work with. The petrol consumption is very good. I rode from South London (Waterloo) to North London...

Review of Yamaha SR125

i really suggest buying an sr125

Advantages: great scooter, starts first time,
Disadvantages: brakes could be a bit better

...these are great scooters and the speed is great, and there cheap to insure, mine only cost £260, bargain, the only thing that could be a bit better are the brakes, they should be a bit more responsive, but other than that its a great scooter, if anyone out there is considering getting a scooter i reccomend this one, i wouldnt reccomend getting a 50 cc moped, eventhough you can de restrict them, (only if your over 16), they can keep up with the traffic, if you are 16 id say wait until your 17 and get a 125, it keeps up with the traffic, and in most cases its ahead of the traffic, it only costs be about £4-£5 to fill the tank up full and it last for a long time, its an excellent mode of transport compared to a car, i love cars but if your on a tight budget, id definitley recommend a scooter, its very low maintenance and low to insure...

Review of Aprilia SR 125

Great Learners Bike!

Advantages: Economy, 4 Stroke Induction 'Roar!', Cheap to run, easy to maintain, its a bike!
Disadvantages: A little too slow on dual carriage ways, Can be overpriced, Poor wet handling

...The Yamaha SR125 has received a lot of stick from some people, while a lot of praise from others, during this review i will attempt to give as unbiassed an opinion as i can on this bike, having owned mine for around a year and covering over 10,000 miles i feel that i am fairly qualified to give a good review. Perfect learner bike!

Advantages: Perfect learner bike!
Disadvantages: Not very much power

...I bought one of these bike at the age of 17, ready to lean on and go for my bike test. This bike without and doubt is one of the easiest 125cc motorbikes to ride with a low seat height and very comfortable rider position. The bike is not the most powerfull 125cc, but as a first bike power is your last need! This bike sailed me through my test and now i have a big bike! I think this bike is perfect for a lady or a person of smaller build. My own bike never let me down, and talking to other owners of the same bike they all agree with that. One of the major factors these days when it comes to personal transport cost(feul) and on this bike you will be spending very little to travel a long way! Very high mpg! Reccommended buy!...

fiesta mk5 1.25

Advantages: nippy and easy to drive
Disadvantages: not alot of leg room for rear passengers

...I bought this car just under a year ago second hand. Bought the car for 1100. The car is very nippy for a 1.25 engine, can keep up with the more powerful engines. The car is very nice looking inside and out. Plenty space in the boot. The space in the front is pretty good for a small car but the space in the back for the passenger isn't to good especially if you have a long legged person in the front. The cars a very reliable, not had any problems with mine and if you do need part you can get the fairly cheap from scrap yard, also the mk4 is very similar so alot of stuff can be used off them. Its easy to manoevre and park. Tax and insurance is low for this car as well, so this is good for the 1st time drivers or someone who needs a car to get them to work and back and to do sum shopping. Queasy Rider

Advantages: easy to ride, cheap to run, comfy about town
Disadvantages: total lack of power, dodgy cruiser styling

...My experience with the Yamaha SR125 took place a few years ago when I was sitting my bike test. Under current regulations, after completing a CBT course, at 17 years old you can take a test on a 125cc bike restricted to 12bhp after which you can ride any bike as long as it is restricted to 33 bhp, and after 2 years you may ride any bike you wish. At the riding school there were two fleets of 125s, the Honda CG125 and the Yamaha SR125. Being a bit of a shorty I decided that the smaller Yamaha with its lower mounted seat would be a better bet. Sitting on board, everything seemed fine, all controls nicely to hand and easy to manipulate, with a handy electric start for when you can't be bothered kick starting it. The switchgear (lights, indicator switches etc) were all in a decent position and easy to use with a gloved hand and the clutch...

Ford Fiesta 1.25 Zetec

Advantages: Good acceleration, positive steering
Disadvantages: Poor display of instruments, notchy/awkward gear change

...I recently had reason to drive my mother-in-law's 1-year-old Ford Fiesta Zetec 1.25. It is the bog standard 5-door hatchback model and I had to get used to using window winders - my car has electric windows. She didn't want "anything fancy" she said. I found the car very quick for a 1.25, but it wouldn't pull the skin of a rice-pudding on some hills we encountered. Brakes were very good and steering quite repsonsive. The noise-levels were quite good at low speed, but there was a lot of road and wind noise at higher speeds on motorways. On the negative side, the gears were rather notchy and I had some difficulty engaging 4th and 3rd gear as I came down from 5th. Aprilia RS125 .

Advantages: Probably the fastest standard 125 available.
Disadvantages: Cost of the bikes.

When i was 16 i used to own a scooter (50cc) which was pants by the way! so when i turned 17 i decided i wanted a 125 until i passed my driving test to drive a car. So i had a look about at a few bikes on the net and i was either going to buy a one of these chinese imports, brand new for around £1000 or buy a second hand well known make bike for about the same price. Then i seen these aprilia rs125 bikes and had herd by a lot of people that they were the fastest 125's you can get so i looked into it a bit more then decided i wanted one, not long after searching for one in my price range i found one on EBay for 2000 model for £450 i think it was but it had a few days left but i wanted to go and view the bike so my dad took me to view it with the cash just in case...

Advantages: easy to operate, good second hand value
Disadvantages: key in wrong position

...Yamaha Grizzly 125 ATV. Firstly a bit of history to show how opinions are formed. We operate a company in Scotland offering Quad Bike Treks for anybody over the age of sixteen, in other words the bikes are used a lot and by anybody from beginners to more experienced riders. Whatever bikes we use have to be mechanically reliable and be able to withstand some abuse. Up until the beginning of this year we used the Breeze model, mostly because its small and light, not too small but still light enough that one person can lift the bike ? pretty useful when you are on your own with a bogged down bike! Another reason for the choice being they are Semi-Automatic put it in forward gear push throttle and it goes, no gear changes to worry about. Anyway back to the review if you are thinking about buying a quad, you can?t go far wrong...

Review of Yamaha Grizzly 125

Fiesta Zetec 1.25 - Great car for the price!

Advantages: Many - Looks good, drives well, great extras, very comfortable
Disadvantages: Honestly none come to mind!

...style Fiesta is the internal space. It is now much more comfertable inside even if you want to carry more than one passenger. The back of the car is not so tight for space and by moving the seat release to the top of the front seats it is now very easy to get passengers in and out of the rear of the car. There is also a surprising amount of boot space considering it is a hatchback and you can fit a substanstial amount in the boot. The Bumpers are body coloured and if you have the black model liek mine this finishes it off perfectly. Many Fiesta\'s including this one now come with Alloy wheels as standard and although they are a nightmare to clean they look amazing when they are clean and add much needed style where Ford have in the past used cheap looking wheel trims. As for the 1.25 engine, I originally went to buy the 1.4 version...
