Portable FM Fun
Review of Sony Walkman SRF-M55 by
MrMetropolitan
Advantages: Small, Great Headphones, Jog-Dial
Disadvantages: No Noteable Disadvantages
...The Sony SRF-M55 is a very neat digital FM tuner that really can be described as wearable. It is about the size of a cigarette lighter so is easily pocketed or clipped to clothing. Small FM radios like this use their headphone cable as an aerial, in the main this works very well but reception can be patchy indoors or in very built up areas. The headphones supplied with the SRF-M55 are the excellent Sony 'Groove' style of fitted, in-ear headphones. They are comfortable to wear and provide excellent sound reproduction and as they are securely fitted into the ear are near impossible to shake loose. This makes them ideal for runners or to be worn while working out at the gym.
The FM tuner allows up to 15 preset stations. Tuning is simple and storing your favourite stations is a breeze. The Sony 'jog-dial' performs most functions...

Very Over-rated!
Review of Sony SRF M35 by

Advantages: Small & Tough, Long battery life
Disadvantages: Very Poor reception quality
...I wanted some sort of personal stereo whilst at work to help pass the time, & I didn't feel like carrying a selection of CDs around with me so I opted for the personal radio. I choose the Sony SRF M35 as it promised clear, drift free reception. The price was £40 at the time I bought it, which was the dearest on the market (excluding DAB radios), but with the promises it made I was prepared to pay the extra. Boy was I conned!!
I was able to get the clear reception promised, but only when I was listening to FM & remaining stationary in a certain direction.
When I tried to listen to Virgin or Radio 5 on the AM bandwidth, the interference just became annoying after a couple of minutes. Voices were difficult to make out at times, & if the radio wasn't pointed in the right direction, I was lucky to get a reception at all.
FM wasn...

Review of Sony SRF-M37 Personal Radio by

Advantages: comes with headphones, small, sturdy, lightweight, lock feature, simple to use
Disadvantages: not digitial, not top of the range, reception not outstanding
...it was at the weekend, how much it drank, who was there or wasn’t there, who was a bitch to who and who wasn’t, and what its plans were for the working week; it just needed to wake me up gently in the morning with some music.
I bought a Sony SRF-M37L. Not only is it small (about two and half inches across, fitting neatly into the palm of my hand) but it’s also sturdy. It’s already had several knocks and been dropped a couple of times, and it doesn’t seem bothered in the slightest. It’s very light to carry and has a handy clip, so you can attach it to the inside of your coat, or to your belt, and forget about it.
The first thing that impressed me about it was the quality of the reception. In areas where I had little or none before, I can now tune in. That has to be due to the quality of the device, rather than anything else. There is a local...
