An Indian merchant named Baba Budan was on pilgrimage to Mecca in the 17th Century. On his way home he managed to smuggle out seven coffee beans strapped to his stomach which he planted in his garden in Mysore, India. Dutch colonialists spread this coffee into Sumatra via Ceylon (now
