SSX 3: The Good Soundtrack
Review of SSX3 - SSX3 by
XICripZ
Advantages: All the best songs from the game
Disadvantages: Just the essential elements of the game's soundtrack
...This review is a follow-up to one which I wrote yesterday, please rate that too.
This is the soundtrack to the 2003 snowboarding game, SSX 3. It includes most of the songs which were on the game. I bought this because I enjoyed the music selection from the game. The music genres range from Hip Hop to electronica to metal. I feel that this covers all of the genres and cultures which are associated with extreme sports, of which snowboarding is a part of.
Disc 1
1. Don't Let The Man Get You Down - Fatboy Slim
**Three Stars**
This one is from the UK big beat artist, Fatboy Slim. As soon as I listen to it, I automatically think of this game, not that i hear it anywhere else.
This is just as many of his other songs, the music doesn't have much sense to it, its very eccentric, but that's what makes it a Fatboy Slim song...

Campaign for Real SSX3
Review of SSX 3 (XBox) by
JoannaScott
Advantages: Addictive game play, character progression, rewards, stunning scenery
Disadvantages: Not matched by any other SSX game in the genre, not a simulator
...Why am I reviewing a game from years back, which although playable on the XBOX 360, was designed for the Playstation2 and the original XBOX, and therefore cannot compare graphically to the new technology? Because the game is outstanding, that's why, and I want the makers to realise what a good thing they were on to, and at least attempt to replicate the gameplay experience inherent on SSX3, instead of wowing us with new graphics which look pretty, but soon get boring.
What game players want is an edge. Something to get the adrenalin racing, to keep them playing, to give them a reason to come back, an affinity with the experience they are trying to replicate on the screen in front of them. In our house, playing SSX3 is referrred to as "going down the mountain", because in essence, that is exactly how it feels to play this game...

SSX3 Hot or not?
Review of SSX 3 (PS2) by
Gincairn
Advantages: Faster animation, huge tracks
Disadvantages: soundtrack not as good as tricky, split screen mode could be better
...Ok how to sum up SSX3?
If you’ve played SSX Tricky in the past you’ll have a fairly good idea of what to expect.
Got the idea in your head?
Can you almost hear the music and see the mountains?
Good. . . Now take that idea screw it up into a ball and throw it over your left shoulder (please note it has to be your left shoulder cos the right one is bad luck.)
SSX3 is more than just a re-vamp of Tricky and SSX, the graphics, sound, and controls have all been improved.
The first thing that strikes you as odd when you load up SSX3 is the level choosing menu, as with the other games you can just choose where to go from the transport menu, alternatively you can choose to get to the event you want by using the snowboard strapped to your feet. This serves two purposes, firstly you can get used to controls before getting...

It's tricky, it's tricky oh wait, no its ssx 3!
Review of SSX 3 (PS2) by
tim_palmer
Advantages: The greatest snowboarding game to ever hit the shelves!
Disadvantages: Ruins your social life!
...SSX means snowboarding super cross or something like that. Anyway this game is about snowboarding, as were ssx and ssx tricky. The first game, ssx, was mainly based on a racing theme untill ssx tricky incorporated a much more trick based idea.
The main object of SSX 3 is to race, show off your tricks, collect stuff, complete challenges and beat your mates.
In 'conquer the mountain' mode, you are trying to win medals in order to earn cash and ultimately imrove the character who you are playing and you can even by lots of accesories such as clothes, crazy heads which are skulls etc. but anyway the main point is to do your best in order unlock items, clothes, characters and higher peaks.
In a race you will be against several computer controlled characters who will be fighting with you to take the gold medal. These people mean...

SSX3: The Bad Soundtrack
Review of SSX Vol.3 (Original Video Game Soundtrack)+DVD - Various Artists by
XICripZ
Advantages: A couple of the best tracks
Disadvantages: Not the best selection of track on the album
...This is the soundtrack and extras disc to the 2003 snowboarding game, SSX 3. It includes some of the songs which were on the game. The music genres range from Hip Hop to electronica to metal. I feel that this covers all of the genres and cultures which are associated with extreme sports, of which snowboarding is a part of.
I bought the full soundtrack first and rented this to see if it was worth getting this and giving away the other version. This varies from the full soundtrack because, that gives you almost all of the tracks from the game, as well as some others. This one has one disc of a few of what were considered to be the best tracks from the game and on disc with extras for he game.
Disc 1
1. Don't Let The Man Get You Down - Fatboy Slim
**Three Stars**
This one is from the UK big beat artist, Fatboy Slim. As soon...

SSX 3 the sequel to SSX tricky. and its amazing
Review of SSX 3 (PS2) by
jmobstar2
Advantages: large range of tracks and characters aswell as vast gameplay and graphics
Disadvantages: very complex-does it ever finish???
.... Winning any of these events gives you cash and medals.
Up until now ive held in the best bit of all but now i will reveal it! Now on SSX 3 in between races you board around searching for challenges money and lots mroe aswell as boarding where ever you want - to the shops to races to anywhere- and when you want -during a race you can quit to the slopes after a race before a race!! This probably doesnt sound amazing but really when you consider SSX tricky and then look it this you think to yourself "WOW thats is brilliant and so complex."
The only real con i can think of is peraps to a younger audience of say 6 years old they perhaps would be very much challenged by this game and would certainly not be able to complete it, but other than that everything else is amazing!
So i think from this review i can say:
BUY...

SSX: snowflake or slush?
Review of SSX 3 (PS2) by
ps2gamer890
Advantages: Great graphics (even now), great play, the adrenalin rush
Disadvantages: Freestyle events are boring and too short, can be fustrating
...SSX 3 has got to be the best snowboarding game out there, certainly better than the ones before it. Start at the top of the mountain, it will take at least 20 minutes to get to the bottom. Seamlessly. With no load times.
Does this give you an example of quite how epic the game is?Several race and freestyle courses on each peak, customisable characters, and, best of all, free roaming. Start the game and you can do anything you want on Peak one. You'll progress, doing the events in one of two categories: Racing or Freestyle until you move up to Peak 2, and so on. You can also enter the lodge (on a track between courses) and buy equipment and fashion accessories with the prize money you've won.
But the realy cream of this game is the racing. Controls are great, it's more about judgement, good steering and thumb flexing tham that awful...

SSX 3 review
Review of SSX 3 (PS2) by
halstead123
Advantages: Fun, easy to pick up
Disadvantages: repetitive, boring after a little while
...them through a career. There are three peaks 1,2 and 3. At first you only have peak one open. On this peak you have three options
race-there are four races to compete in you need to win or at least come third in each. However to get all the collectibles in the game you need to come first, even in the heats. What gets the most satisfaction in this area is if you press either R1 or L1 you can knock down your opponents by punching them and gain a speed boost as well.
Freestyle-there are around 4 places where you ride this time you don't beat people by getting the fastest time, but by getting the highest score, you do this by doing tricks and combos, the other people scores are on screen so you can monitor where you are in the standings, these are fun to do but get a bit tedious if you do not win them after a few tries, constantly going...

Welcome to SSX
Review of SSX: Snowboard Super-Cross (PS2) by
D1A1UK
Advantages: Amazing style of gameplay that is very similar to Tony Hawk's 2. This is the best PS2 game!
Disadvantages: Graphical discrepencies, and getting stuck!
...Welcome to SSX (to SSX, to SSX), and as the start up sounds off you already get the feeling that the PlayStation 2 is going to perform some pretty impressive sound effects over time – already so soon, SSX demonstrates the superb sound quality that the PlayStation 2 really does posses – you should know by now that the ‘Dolby Digital’ sign on the PlayStation 2 does actually stand for something. In this brief paragraph, should you wish to skip the rest of the opinion, I’ll let you know that SSX is a good game, and probably is the best PlayStation 2 title out at present. It’s not perfect though, and if you want to know a little bit more about the game then read on!
The most horrible aspect of the game, other than the difficulty (as I will explain later) is the lack of a 60hz mode, and thus the game...

SSX Tour Takes A Tumble Down The Slopes
Review of SSX On Tour (Xbox) by
JJBDude
Advantages: Addictive gameplay
Disadvantages: Lack of enthusiasm, no commentary
...plain boring slopes to ride down. Them loss of commentary could be a reason for this, SSX 3 has a commentator which would shout remarks such as "Speeeeeed boost" to add to the tension as your rider went into a 1440 spin off a jump. Something else which is a let down for On Tour is the unlockables and rewards for progressing in the game. Back in SSX 3 I found myself searching for money whilst riding down the slopes in freeride, this was because I needed more money to either improve my riders stats or to unlock a new board/clothes. On Tour goes too easy on you, money is extremely easy to obtain and I never found myself needing to go into freeride and search the slopes for money. If this wasn't bad enough the things that can actually be unlocked is dismal in On Tour. Your choice of clothing seems to me smaller than the variety given in SSX 3...
