SSX Tour Takes A Tumble Down The Slopes
Review of SSX On Tour (Xbox) by
JJBDude
Advantages: Addictive gameplay
Disadvantages: Lack of enthusiasm, no commentary
...The SSX franchise has been the best snowboarding franchise for a long time. Competitors have tried to overthrow Electronic Arts with games such as Amped but SSX always seem to be the king of the slopes. Well now after two years of waiting the fourth development of the popular SSX series is here, and the riders are going On Tour!
So what have EA added to the game this time round? Well the first noticeable difference is the fact that you know longer control one of the already created riders in World Tour mode, infact you have to create your own rider to ride the slopes on. Choose between male and female and between skis or board, yeah that's right, you can now choose to ride of skis or a snowboard. So what's the difference between being a skier or a snowboarder? Well not much really, the Monster Tricks are different (more about...

Campaign for Real SSX3
Review of SSX 3 (XBox) by
JoannaScott
Advantages: Addictive game play, character progression, rewards, stunning scenery
Disadvantages: Not matched by any other SSX game in the genre, not a simulator
...playing it for 5 years, off and on, and I haven't completed it yet. Neither have I grown tired of it! You can find cheats, hints and tips on various websites run by SSX3 fans all over the internet. Don't be fooled into buying SSX on Tour - it's nothing compared to its predecessor. And although SSX Tricky is a very good game, it won't play on the XBOX 360.
You can buy SSX3 for the Xbox or the Playstation2 in shops still - you can pick up secondhand copies for around £10, and also they occasionally come up on e-bay.
Not often though - as any SSX3 owner, myself included, will tell you, they still play it, so they don't want to sell it. Not at any price!...

Geat portable snowboarding game for PSP.
Review of SSX On Tour (Sony PSP) by
Franzkill
Advantages: Great SSX gameplay, superb graphics, controls well and sports a great soundtrack
Disadvantages: Recycled SSX 3 tracks, no custom soundtrack support or online multiplayer, limited character creation
...The SSX series has been good to us gamers. In the past we have had games like Coolboarders, 1080, Amped and Snowboard Kids that show how snowboarding can be made into good games. However none of these have really achieved what the SSX games do in terms of better gameplay, better graphics and just better things overall really.
So here we are with SSX On Tour on the Sony PSP. Although this isn't the first time an SSX game has made an appearence on the handheld. Both SSX Tricky and SSX 3 were on the GBA but in comparison to their console counterparts didn't really turn out that well.
Which is why its good to know that this latest installment is probably the best handheld snowboarding game ever. The trademark SSX gameplay is still there but also the visuals look absolutely amazing and come very close to matching the PS2's graphical...

One of the best snowboarding games
Review of SSX On Tour (PS2) by
Rich444
Advantages: Fun gameplay, great soundtrack, good graphics
Disadvantages: Little Story, Few extras, Quite difficult
...SSX On Tour is a the 4th game in the SSX snowboarding series. I bought this for around £15 from Play.com. I like snowboarding games although this was my first game in the SSX series,
Gameplay:
The game consists of two main sections, "The Tour" which is the main "career" mode, and then "Quick Play" which is for multiplayer gaming and also quick races. In The Tour you compete in two main types of events "medals" which are competitions in race or slopestyle (tricks) form, and "shreds" which are more like challenges. During the career yuo win money to spend on boards, clothes and new tricks. You also win "hype" which improves your rank. You can also play the game with skis although Ive found the controls for that are more difficult.
Graphics/Style:
The graphics in this game are amazing, some of the best Ive seen for a PS2 game...

SSX BLUR not ssx (wii) as ciao calls it...
Review of SSX Blur (Wii) by
powellandrew
Advantages: You can ski or snowboard with numerous characters + wii remote.
Disadvantages: Multiplayer is only 2 player unless you want to just play separately..

[-] SSX Blur [-]
---------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------
Released on the 16th March 2007, EA SPORTS' SSX Blur was the first sporting game I believed I could give credit to on the Wii. Featuring skiing and snowboarding, SSX have renovated and re-developed their game to suit the Wii and its controllers, as you carve your way through the snow. In this review, I shall talk about; my playing experience, the graphics, the packaging, 'Career Mode,' multiplayer features , why you need a wii, how it compares to previous SSX games and finally my overall impressions.

Welcome to SSX
Review of SSX: Snowboard Super-Cross (PS2) by
D1A1UK
Advantages: Amazing style of gameplay that is very similar to Tony Hawk's 2. This is the best PS2 game!
Disadvantages: Graphical discrepencies, and getting stuck!
...Welcome to SSX (to SSX, to SSX), and as the start up sounds off you already get the feeling that the PlayStation 2 is going to perform some pretty impressive sound effects over time – already so soon, SSX demonstrates the superb sound quality that the PlayStation 2 really does posses – you should know by now that the ‘Dolby Digital’ sign on the PlayStation 2 does actually stand for something. In this brief paragraph, should you wish to skip the rest of the opinion, I’ll let you know that SSX is a good game, and probably is the best PlayStation 2 title out at present. It’s not perfect though, and if you want to know a little bit more about the game then read on!
The most horrible aspect of the game, other than the difficulty (as I will explain later) is the lack of a 60hz mode, and thus the game...

SSX 3: The Good Soundtrack
Review of SSX3 - SSX3 by
XICripZ
Advantages: All the best songs from the game
Disadvantages: Just the essential elements of the game's soundtrack
...This review is a follow-up to one which I wrote yesterday, please rate that too.
This is the soundtrack to the 2003 snowboarding game, SSX 3. It includes most of the songs which were on the game. I bought this because I enjoyed the music selection from the game. The music genres range from Hip Hop to electronica to metal. I feel that this covers all of the genres and cultures which are associated with extreme sports, of which snowboarding is a part of.
Disc 1
1. Don't Let The Man Get You Down - Fatboy Slim
**Three Stars**
This one is from the UK big beat artist, Fatboy Slim. As soon as I listen to it, I automatically think of this game, not that i hear it anywhere else.
This is just as many of his other songs, the music doesn't have much sense to it, its very eccentric, but that's what makes it a Fatboy Slim song...

SSX3 Hot or not?
Review of SSX 3 (PS2) by
Gincairn
Advantages: Faster animation, huge tracks
Disadvantages: soundtrack not as good as tricky, split screen mode could be better
...Ok how to sum up SSX3?
If you’ve played SSX Tricky in the past you’ll have a fairly good idea of what to expect.
Got the idea in your head?
Can you almost hear the music and see the mountains?
Good. . . Now take that idea screw it up into a ball and throw it over your left shoulder (please note it has to be your left shoulder cos the right one is bad luck.)
SSX3 is more than just a re-vamp of Tricky and SSX, the graphics, sound, and controls have all been improved.
The first thing that strikes you as odd when you load up SSX3 is the level choosing menu, as with the other games you can just choose where to go from the transport menu, alternatively you can choose to get to the event you want by using the snowboard strapped to your feet. This serves two purposes, firstly you can get used to controls before getting...

SSX Blur
Review of SSX Blur (Wii) by
4ku-Papa
Advantages: Great control. Good graphics. Innovative soundtrack. Longevity.
Disadvantages: Fiendishly difficult. Less character customization than before.
...SSX Blur is the fifth incarnation of the classic snowboarding series from Electronic Arts (EA). Previous versions on other consoles such as the PS2 and Xbox were huge successes thanks to their extravagant graphics, pulsating soundtrack, vast array of tricks, challenges and extras and great modes of play such as Career and Multi-player. With the Wii version, EA have seen fit to radically overhaul the control system, so much so that it seems the Wii's revolutionary controllers have been invented solely for the purpose of playing this game. They're not of course but the Wii's nunchuck and wii-mote fit this style of game perfectly.
Playing PS2 or Xbox games on the type of controller that comes with those systems, a lot of players tend to move the controller as well in an effort to turn the skier around an almost-impossible corner (well...

It's tricky, it's tricky oh wait, no its ssx 3!
Review of SSX 3 (PS2) by
tim_palmer
Advantages: The greatest snowboarding game to ever hit the shelves!
Disadvantages: Ruins your social life!
...SSX means snowboarding super cross or something like that. Anyway this game is about snowboarding, as were ssx and ssx tricky. The first game, ssx, was mainly based on a racing theme untill ssx tricky incorporated a much more trick based idea.
The main object of SSX 3 is to race, show off your tricks, collect stuff, complete challenges and beat your mates.
In 'conquer the mountain' mode, you are trying to win medals in order to earn cash and ultimately imrove the character who you are playing and you can even by lots of accesories such as clothes, crazy heads which are skulls etc. but anyway the main point is to do your best in order unlock items, clothes, characters and higher peaks.
In a race you will be against several computer controlled characters who will be fighting with you to take the gold medal. These people mean...
