ST IVES THIRTY EIGHT YEARS AND STILL MAGIC
Review of St Ives (England) by
poshtroika
Advantages: FAMILY FRIENDLY
Disadvantages: Still looking for any.
...First went to St Ives with my girl friend in 1969, will go this year in September with the SAME Girl now my wife for our 36th Visit.
The first time, we had arrived by the little train that runs from St Erth (On lthe main line) to St Ives, MAGIC. And we feel this is the best way to View St Ives. Hopefully it is Sunny (Always seems to be) sit on the RIGHT side of the train facing direction of Travel and glue your nose to the Window, Watch the miles of golden sands at Lelant then St IVES will appear floating on a sea of Blue water as good or even better than all the Med Resorts of Italy and the South of France.
As a young Couple we went out to explore that first night, and could not work out why which ever street we went down we seemed to come to the Sea. Then in daylight viewing from the Top of the town you see...

St Ives does it once again
Review of St Ives Apricot Scrub by
Katecgreen
Advantages: Not bad on price esp. as it works
Disadvantages: NONE though not advisble for sensitive skin
...At present I am going through the entire St. Ives range (…and we’re talking the Swedish version rather than the Cornwall one). So far I’ve managed to review only the Firming Lotion but my second and most recent purchase from the other items in the range is the invigorating facial scrub. In actual fact I bought 2 lots of this recently and the second purchase was a Buy One Get One Free (BOGOF) so I bought a blemish control one too but have not managed to try it out yet.
~ST. IVES BACKGROUND~
With the invigorating apricot scrub St. Ives promise “healthier-looking skin in just 7 days” . So for this to be true it either has to be extremely harsh (…and literally take all your skin off or a miracle worker or just not work.
YES it does work and how???? Well the invigorating apricot scrub contains...

TIBBLES COTTAGE FOR A ST IVES HOLIDAY
Review of Tibbles Cottage, St Ives, Cornwall by
poshtroika
Advantages: LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION
Disadvantages: Have to climb two sets of stairs for the best view.
...TIBBLES COTTAGE, COURT COCKING, St IVES CORNWALL, is where we have just spent a week.
The Cottage can be rented through Lanhams of St Ives.
It is located in a small lane called Court Cocking ( do not ask the meaning of the name) which runs from the Harbour up to the main Street of St Ives called Fore Street.
The front door is a Stable type door, which is about 10 yards from the Harbour, ideal in the morning to make a Coffee then sit by the Harbour enjoying the view.
The cottage is 3 storied.
GROUND FLOOR:-
This is the main living area, at one end ,as can be seen in the photograph there is a small blue Settee in front of a sash window that looks out onto the lane. There are also 2 fairly comfortable chairs. I had pulled a muscle in my back the previous week but found these chairs OK.
Also in this area...

St Ives a perfect holiday destination
Review of Surf Breaks, St Ives by
alfred_wallis
Advantages: Breautiful beaches, weather, Art and food
Disadvantages: Miles away from the rest of the country
...Welcome to St Eia, the Cornish dialect announces, as you round the final bend from St Erth (or on the train) and you see nestling around the harbour, glinting in the sunlight the town of StIves.
St Ives was originally a fishing port and one of the major trading points on the west coast rivalling Bristol in the 16th century. Now the fish are likely to be caught by tourists on 3 hour fishing trips in converted fishing boats. The town is full of winding streets going by names such as Teetotal street, Fore street and Salubrious place and offers a good main street (the aforementioned Fore street) with everything from Woolworths to fudge shops via Art Galleries ( try The new craftsman )and good professional surf shops.
Recently with the opening of the Tate Gallery there has been a reneissance of the town with Classy restaurants including...

St. Ives skin removal face scrub!
Review of St Ives Blemish Control Apricot Scrub by
SarahSkas
Advantages: Very thorough, leaves skin feeling soft and smooth
Disadvantages: Quite painful to use, takes a while for skin to calm afterwards
...I've suffered with bouts of acne rosacea since the age of 17 (I'm now 23), and although my condition has finally gone I couldn't have done it without a few brilliant products, and this is one of them. I only ever had the breakouts on my chin but they were sore, red, itchy and unsightly and would turn up on my skin about twice a month.
I have tried many other face scrubs but have found them to be too gentle, so when I picked up St. Ives Blemish Control Apricot Scrub I was delighted to read that the exfoliating particles were actually pieces of walnut shell. This, I thought, will do the trick.
Although the price varies you get 150ml for about £3.00, which is pretty good, considering the brand (St. Ives is a leading Swiss skin care company). It is packaged in a white squeazy plastic tube (white for oily/blemish prone skin; orange...

Not one of St. Ives's best products
Review of St Ives Blemish Control Apricot Scrub by
Vicky_M
Advantages: Soft, clean skin
Disadvantages: Can be harsh and scratchy
...I decided to try this product because a friend of mine uses it and she thinks it's great. Reviews that I have read of this product are generally quite positive and an advert I saw said that it was the no.1 selling scrub in the UK. I also liked the idea of using a product with more natural ingredients and was pleased to find out that St. Ives does not test on animals :-). I bought the product from Superdrug where I found that it was on a special offer (B.O.G.O.F.).
Packaging
""""""""""""""""
St. Ives Blemish Control Apricot Scrub comes in a white tube with a blue lid and blue writing. The packaging is quite plain but not unappealing. One of the things I liked best about the overall look of the product is that it doesn't shout 'clinical' at you like some medicated products for problem skin do! One downside to the packaging is the way...

don't tantalize just buy St Ives
Review of St Ives Apricot Scrub by
fizzingwhizbee0
Advantages: Wow! Freshness, smoothness, clean feeling!
Disadvantages: hurts if you get it in your eyes...
...Wow i feel refreshed!
MY STORY OF ENLIGHTENMENT
I get really dry skin around my cheeks when i get stressed, spotty, red yuckness. I can't use soap as it completely dries out my skin giving me even more spots and tightness everywhere, so i gave up, leaving my skin's condition to the elements to take care of. Cornish winters are harsh, this winter has been particularly bad for my skin and i've begun flaking and feeling horrid. Sitting down with my boyfriend the other day he commented on my skin looking pretty sorry for it self and suggested i 'borrow' some of his mum's exfoliant,
"I use it sometimes, it's really nice"...hmmmm
I opened the copboard and there it sat, a LARGE tube of St. Ives Apricot facial scrub (suitable for all skin types although they also do a sensitive skin one, oily, acne prone and alot of others including foot...

St Ives Invigorating Apricot Scrub
Review of St Ives Apricot Scrub by
leebee81
Advantages: Powerful Scrub, Inexpensive
Disadvantages: Can be a bit harsh on fragile skin
...I have been using this scrub on and off for more the 4 years. I have tried many of the St Ives brand of products, but this is one i always come back to.
The scrub comes in an apricot-coloured plastic tube with a transparent blue flip-top. the flip is securely teathered, and easy to open. The product flows easily from the tube with a gentle squeeze. The tube holds 150ml of product.
The scrub itself is crushed walnut shell in a pale coloured-creamy base. It has a mild, pleasent scent. The shell is very abrasive. I find a small amount is all thats necessisary for a facial scrub and I only use it once or twice a week. I use a very gentle rubbing motion with the tips of my fingers, concentrating on my nose and cheeks where my pores are. I always follow with a mild light moisturiser. The creamy-base does not cleanse or foam, so I use...

One day as I was going to St Ives...
Review of St Ives Firming Lotion by
Leigh1
Advantages: very soft skin, easily absorbed
Disadvantages: cannot comment on the firming aspect yet
...You may be aware that I suffer from dry skin. This is probably my own fault due to laziness, I mean how long does it actually take to slap on some body lotion after coming out of the shower. Last week I vowed to myself that I would start taking more care of my skin. I went to Tesco and was pondering over the body lotion when this one caught my eye. “St Ives Rosemary & Gingko Firming Body Lotion” the bottle said, and priced at only £3.99 for the 400ml bottle I picked up a bottle and put it in my trolley.
There is a table on the back of the bottle promising the following results:
Immediately eliminates dry, tight skin
In 2 weeks skin feels softer and more supple
In 4 weeks skin looks smoother and healthier
In 8 weeks skin appears visibly firmer and more toned
Being the cynic that I am, I did not think that I would actually...

15 THE WARREN OLD COTTAGE ST IVES CORNWALL
Review of 15 the Warren St Ives, Cornwall by
poshtroika
Advantages: VIEWS VIEWS VIEWS
Disadvantages: Had to come home.
...If you are looking for a Holiday Cottage with all mod cons, stop now, but if you want one with a view to die for and great location read on.
On our 39th Annual Visit to St Ives I thought I would give 15 The Warren a go.
When ever I had done an availability search on WWW.STIVESHOLIDAYS.COM this cottage had often showed as available. What could be the problem I thought, so being inquisative I booked it.
For the Week 11-18th October it would be £300, not the cheapest option but far from the dearest.
This includes all Gas and Electric.
Also payable is a returnable £100 damage deposit.
This cottage sleeps 3.
It is located on a street named the Warren, just two minutes from the Train Station and Bus Station, so ideal if like us you arrive by public transport.
You enter through a Blue Wooden Front Door, ahead of you...
