This Church was built in 1870 and was originally created as a place of worship for the Duke of Devonshire, his family and his staff. For such a relatively modern Church this is quite a grand affair. ...The Parish Church of St Peter can be found in the small, picturesque town of Hope in the heart of the Peak District National Park. Visitors, who drive through Hope on their way to Castleton 3 Kilometres further down the road, often overlook this Village. However, whilst it is true that Castleton may have more to offer for the tourist, Hope is a charming little place and should not be dismissed. Hope?s Church stands on a small grassy mound in the centre of the Village and dominates the area. Advantages: Easy watching, some good acting and great vocal performances
Disadvantages: Acting from some of the cast is a bit over-the-top

...This is one of those films that nobody else seems to have heard of and - up until a few years ago - neither had I. Indeed, I have my passion for 1980s pop music to thank for my knowledge that this film even exists. For reasons I don't even remember, I came across a website listing the lyrics to Tears For Fears' mid-eighties hit Everybody Wants To Rule The World and whichever page I viewed mentioned a variety of films, TV programmes and albums that the song featured in. One of these was Peter's Friends . . . so I admit it, I first watched this film because one of my favourite songs was part of the soundtrack! (I can sometimes be a bit more shallow than other people believe . . . actually there are quite a few 1970s/1980s songs in here, which I think suits the mood of the film.) ...*Introduction* The St Tropez autobronzant is a thick lotion which you apply on your face and body, and then leave to absorb for 4 hours before washing off to reveal your tan. It promises to be 'non-greasy' and 'quick drying' with a 'relaxing aromatic scent'. It comes in one shade only, but you can reapply two nights in a row to deepen the tan. I have really pale skin that doesn't tan at all naturally, so I have to be careful what fake tan I use as I can be left with orange coloured skin! *Packaging and Price* The packaging is quite simple and whereas most fake tanning products come in a brown or orange bottle, it is distinctive as it comes in a white bottle with black writing. When buying, look carefully at the bottle to check you have the right product though as the St Tropez body polish comes in a very similar bottle...

So with my first impression of the locals engraved in stone in my mind I got out of the taxi to find the Cardinal Hotel, St Peters. - The Address The address suggests that the hotel is basically on the door step of the Vatican its self. I have no idea why it was so similar to the address of the actual St Peters because the Cardinal Hotel is on the out skirts of the city. Even one or two of the taxi drivers who had been around for a while weren't sure where it was. To get to the hotel you have to turn off a main road after avoiding some mad traffic (that's how they drive there) into a back street which looks like it has taken a beating over the years and could do with someone tearing it apart and relaying the concrete...
