...This product has got to be one of the most convincing fake tans I have ever found. Last year, being a very pale shade with the task of being a bridesmaid for one of my mates, I decided that I didn't want my pale skin to clash with the pale dress I had to wear!! So off to a salon to have the St Tropez professional tanning treatment. I was amazed! I emerged from the salon with a decent tan (as it is coloured you can see the effects immediately). The tan developed and I was left looking as though I had been on holiday. It lasted for nearly 2 weeks. A real confidence boost for the vain people amongst us!! ...As a girl who has trouble applying makeup and beauty products, I was sceptical before reaching for the well known self tanner St Tropez. I bought the set -moisturiser, whipped mouse tanner, gloves and exfoliator in a set from Boots. I thought if I was going to attempt the sunkissed look, it would be vital I get it right! On opening the box I was overwhelmed by the instructions : Step 1 - Prepare skin by exfoliating. Step 2 - Use moisturiser on dry areas( I recommend using it everywhere!) ...St Tropez, I have to say is the queen of all the fake tans. Alot of research and work has gone into formulating this lotion and it shows. It is the only one on the Market that I have found which disguises stretchmarks and other blemishes. Here are three more reasons why it's so good: Firstly the Lotion contains aloe vera, which helps the skin absorb the lotion, taking it deep into the epidermis resulting in a very natural tan. This also eliminates the need to rub the tan in - it is better to gently stroke it onto the skin, this teqnique can be hard to master at first but you'll soon get to grips with it. St Tropez tips to (almost) perfection

...Ok summer was here (and may come again) and so we all got the good old fake tan out .... however some of us have found practice definetely makes almost perfect. I thought I would share a few tips from the horrible mistakes I have made (no pictures, sorry but I'm not that daft!) Application: Exfoliate, exfoliate and exfoliate. Then shave your legs, girls (even if you did them recently). Otherwise in a couple of days you'll need to shave again and there goes the perfect tan. Exfoliation brings out those little hairs that are about to break out. Personally I don't wear gloves as I find application without is better. If you don't either make sure you fully exfoliate your hands afterwards otherwise the tango effect will take place :o) Take care around the nail area. St. Tropez, not as good as one might think

Disadvantages: expensive, if you use it too much your skin gets used to it and it doesn't work anymore

...Having tried just about any self tanning lotion on the market, I decided to invest £25 on a bottle of St Tropez because verybody said it was magic.. I was quite happy with the results the first 4-5 times I used it but £25 for a bottle is definitely too much. My skin is like mozzarella normally but the cream worked and I woke up really brown as if I had been on holiday. The colour was almost even and I had no patches. The only slight problem was with my hands and feet. The colour lasted a week. What is all the hype about?

Advantages: the smell isnt as bad as some tanning products, smells quiet clean.
Disadvantages: personally didnt like the consistency, didnt gain the effects i would have liked too.

...I'am writing this review honestly, it may be diffrent for other people but it didnt really suit me. Now as far as fake tan goes, its becoming easier to find more natrual looking ones. And i'll give st. tropez the benefit of the boubt, Once developed it is quiet a good colour. The problems i had with st. tropez were as follows: - the consistency, i would reccomend mixing 1-2 blobs of the tanning lotion with a good moisturiser/ st. tropez step 2 moisturing lotion as it is really thick and stodgy. - Its quiet hard to apply because if you rub just one time too many it starts to roll off the skin in bits =/ but i couldnt win because i had to rub the tan more to blend it evenly. - It promises a streak free finish no matter how it looks whilst developing, but in places i still had subtle streaks. St Tropez - Good

Advantages: Natural look, Tinted Lotion, Easy to apply, Good price
Disadvantages: Can be difficult to apply, Can stain your hands, clothes etc

...I have tried many Self Tan products over the past couple of years and had heard that St Tropez was good in many reviews, magazines and from friend's that have used the product themselves, so I thought I had better give it ago. I find using a foam self tan easier than some of the spray versions out in the market. St Tropez gives you a lovely, instant colour which is subtle, so you don't look like you have been rolling around in the mud and you get an instant glow whilst your tan is developing. Another advantage of the tint in this lotion, as it allows you to see where you have applied the lotion, which in turn helps prevent streaks. I would definitely recommend using gloves or a sponge whilst applying this product as the tint in the lotion can be difficult to remove from the palms of your hands.
