St Tropez Self Tan
Advantages: Great colour and very even colour
Disadvantages: Takes time and alot of effort
...St Tropez is a great range that contains all the products needed for a fantastic natural looking all year round tan.
It claims to work instantly for a streak less application that will last for days.
It comes in an 8oz bottle with a handy pump action, which makes it a lot easier to use.
I paid £26.50 for this, which I know does seem like a lot.
I initially brought the St Tropez mousse however this brought me out in a rash so I had to discontinue using it. My friend used this lotion so I borrowed a little bit and I didn?t have the same reaction so decided to give it ago. I did love this at first because it brought me out in such a dark tan and I even had one done professionally, which cost £25, I thought after it was a waste of money because it really is easy enough to do it at home and get the same results.
This is in my...

A St Tropez Tan
Advantages: Excellent colour, easy to see where applying as it is coloured
Disadvantages: Quite expensive
...This product has got to be one of the most convincing fake tans I have ever found. Last year, being a very pale shade with the task of being a bridesmaid for one of my mates, I decided that I didn't want my pale skin to clash with the pale dress I had to wear!! So off to a salon to have the St Tropez professional tanning treatment. I was amazed!
I emerged from the salon with a decent tan (as it is coloured you can see the effects immediately). The tan developed and I was left looking as though I had been on holiday. It lasted for nearly 2 weeks. A real confidence boost for the vain people amongst us!!
After seeing how the professionals do it, I now do it myself!!! It is much better to mix half and half with moisturiser. If you go wrong you just apply another thin coat. You wash the excess off about 4-5 hours later and you...

ST Tropez Autobronzant
Advantages: Nice even colour, can see where it has been applied already
Disadvantages: Messy and expensive
...*Introduction*
The St Tropez autobronzant is a thick lotion which you apply on your face and body, and then leave to absorb for 4 hours before washing off to reveal your tan. It promises to be 'non-greasy' and 'quick drying' with a 'relaxing aromatic scent'. It comes in one shade only, but you can reapply two nights in a row to deepen the tan. I have really pale skin that doesn't tan at all naturally, so I have to be careful what fake tan I use as I can be left with orange coloured skin!
*Packaging and Price*
The packaging is quite simple and whereas most fake tanning products come in a brown or orange bottle, it is distinctive as it comes in a white bottle with black writing. When buying, look carefully at the bottle to check you have the right product though as the St Tropez body polish comes in a very similar bottle...

St Tropez Self-Tan Mousse
Advantages: Easy to apply, even coverage, no streaks, won't make you go orange
Disadvantages: May make you smell a bit like a stale biscuit for a few days after application
...than £2 so save your pennies on all the advertised application products as the cheaper versions serve exactly the same purpose. Alternatively Boots do a self tan mitt for about £3.50 and St Tropez latex gloves 5 pairs for £2.50 so you can still get the same products if you don't have a hardware store near you.
So now onto the tanning itself. Ensure you have plenty of time and that you're not in a hurry when applying your tan. If you're planning to wear it for an event or night out then it's worth doing you're tanning at least the evening before, if not longer where possible, for reasons I will explain a bit later. Ensure you shake the mousse bottle well before application. If you do it correctly then it should start off as a liquid then froth up until you can barely hear anything being shaken in the bottle. One or 2 pumps of the mousse...

Bye Bye stale biscuit smell! St Tropez Self Tan Bronzing Mousse
Advantages: New product smells floral and pleasant - seems to colour more evenly too
Disadvantages: still fades a little patchy but think they all do
...This product is for the new improved product (the photo is of the old packaging)
I have been a St Tropez devotee for years now, I love its colour and the fact that its so easy to apply. In fact one of my first reviews for dooyoo was for the whipped bronze mousse. In this review, I mentioned that one of the disadvantages was the smell - people compare it to stale biscuits and it's just horrible. The colour is great but the smell lingers, but as all fake tans smell, I just kind of put up with it...until now!
2009 saw St Tropez releasing new improved versions of their best selling products. As well as sleek new black on white packaging, there were major improvements to the smell. It claimed to have a pleasant fragrance - hmmm I thought, I am a bit sceptical, I will have to try this for myself!
I bought a 240ml bronzing mousse...

Most natural tan!
Advantages: Natural tan, long lasting, easy to apply
Disadvantages: smells
...results and I recommend for the tan to fully develop to leave it on for about 8 hours. When I wash off the tan I can't smell it anymore which is a good thing as well as I don't think it smells to good. Once I wash off the tan I am left with a healthy looking real tan.
The tan normally stays even on me for about 5-7 days then it can go slightly uneven and patchy. I normally exfoliate and scrub off the tan to make it even. I then reapply st tropez 2 days later, I find this best as it ensures you have got rid of the previous application on your skin ensuring even results this time.
I normally buy the 240ml bottle which lasts me about 2 months if I use it once a week which makes up for the expense of it! Normally I buy it from ebay and can pick up a 240ml bottle for about £27.00 where as in the shops the 240ml bottles retails for about...

Chocolate tanning sauce
Advantages: I love the smell! Non streaky/non orange if applied correctly.
Disadvantages: Don't over-rub or it will remove the tan
...Although I got on fantastically well with the Whipped Bronze Instant Self-Tanning Mousse from St Tropez I'm always up for trying new products and it appeared to me that more people use the normal 'lotion' as opposed to the mousse. Is it better? Let's see.
ST TROPEZ TINTED SELF-TANNING LOTION
The bottle for this lotion is quite different to the mousse. This lotion is presented in a smart, thick white plastic bottle with a black pump action nozzle. It proclaims itself as being 'Step 3' (and we all know what that means!) St Tropez like to make out that only their Step 1 and Step 2 could POSSIBLY precede Step 3 but I disagree - Step 1 is essentially just an exfoliator and Step 2 is a moisturiser. I would imagine that anyone willing to fork out money on a fake tan probably owns AT LEAST one exfoliator and moisturiser already...

St Topez Self Tan lotion
Advantages: Bottle last a long time
Disadvantages: Tan can wash off very easily
...When using this product you had to start in stages by doing a small section at a time. I found it was easier starting with the legs and spraying the product onto my leg then using an old sponge to spread it around as this product stains your hands terribly. It gave you a very good overall tan, although you needed to be sure you had covered all areas. I thought I had covered my feet an ankles well until the product had completely dried and I realised I had patches. I feel this is a good tanning product and the tan is very natural, however it washes off very easily and rubs of when near clothing. The bottle lasts a long time but dont quite feel it is worth the money as there is better products out there which are less hassle....

An overnight trip to St Tropez
Advantages: deceivingly good colour
Disadvantages: quite pricey, very messy!
...Dilema,
Just been on holiday, have come back with a great tan, but not as great as you expected and it is fading fast because of the terrible English weather!
Solution: St Tropez self tanning lotion
So I paid just over £50 for St Tropez Step 1 (Exfoliant), Step 2 (moisturiser) and Step 3 (Auto Brozant).
As I found out later, if you follow the instructions on the bottle, you should get a good result. For a virgin self tanner (which I was), it all looks a bit daunting after having paid out so much money!
I am a firm believer in you get what you pay for and once again I have been proven right.
So Step 1, I am standing in the bathroom covered in exfoliator, with my poor boyfriend standing behind me exfoliating my back for me.
Step 2, carefully moisturising every part that might go a little bit dry or dodgy
Step...

From sunless to sunkissed with St Tropez!
Advantages: Even natural colour, easy application!
Disadvantages: Price!
...As a girl who has trouble applying makeup and beauty products, I was sceptical before reaching for the well known self tanner St Tropez. I bought the set -moisturiser, whipped mouse tanner, gloves and exfoliator in a set from Boots. I thought if I was going to attempt the sunkissed look, it would be vital I get it right!
On opening the box I was overwhelmed by the instructions : Step 1 - Prepare skin by exfoliating. Step 2 - Use moisturiser on dry areas( I recommend using it everywhere!) Step 3- Smooth bronzer evenly onto skin.
It seemed a lot of effort, but after using this product for a year now I have found a nice routine works best and the whole thing is done in minimal time. Although the tanner says to use their own brand of exfoliator and moisturiser, it doesn't make any difference. I've found that most moisturiser's work very...
