Be The Stabilo Boss!
Review of Stabilo Boss Highlighters by
thespurs
Advantages: Easy to use and hold, a quality product that you can rely on time after time, a wide range of products and pack sizes
Disadvantages: The value of buying smaller packs is pretty poor - so buy more!
...#Introduction#
The Stabilo Boss Highlighters seem to have been around for a life time. Much like my previous review on Post-it Notes, an office environment, a school or even a home wouldn't be the same without a highlighter pen. These are items that make life a whole lot easier for a number of people and save plenty of time. The Stabilo Boss Highlighters will remain in use for years to come, they will have a function. The computer revolution may be reducing usage slightly but it will be a long time yet before any real effect is noticeable.
#Background#
The highlighters are produced and supplied under the Stabilo Boss brand name. The parent company is Schwan, the company is sometimes known as Schwan Stabilo, depending upon the market it operates in. There are two divisions of Schwan Stabilo, one focusing on cosmetics...

Stabilo is the BOSS!!
Review of Stabilo Boss Highlighters by
BethGrant
Advantages: It is long lasting
Disadvantages: Doesn't say how to refill or where to get refills from
...Stabilo boss - in my opinion, the only name that springs to mind when you think of highlighters!!
If you are ever reading through a piece of text and need to pick out any important and essential facts, then the highlighter is for you. You are able to colour over the words and you can still clearly see the text underneath - the highlighter simply emphasises and draws attention to the words.
The stabilo boss highlighter can be bought separately or in packs. The colours available are: yellow, blue, green, red, turquoise, orange, lavender, pink and lilac. As you can see there are an array of differing colours to suit everyones tastes. And it gets even better as all the colours are fluorescent.
The highlighter itself has a unique shape (the highlighter gets wider nearer to the nib) and has the words 'stabilo boss original' adorning...

Lumines - A rather daft name for a great game.
Review of Lumines (PSP) by
moaning1
Advantages: Addictive "Tetris Style" Game for those who prefer "retro-type" gaming
Disadvantages: If you prefer more modern 3D gaming this may not be your thing
...If you are not familiar with Tetris:
The guiding and rotating of various shaped blocks, consisting of various colours, down a screen until you make lines of the same colour which are then deleted from the screen scoring points. The process then continues with speed increasing as you progress and the number of colours increasing also.
It's addictive gaming even for many people who do not normally play puzzle games.
Now we have Lumines for Sony's new baby hand-held console the PSP (Play Station Portable)
I have to say I preordered this game knowing my wife would love it (a tetris fan) and I knew that I'd love the odd game too.
The concept is similar to tetris except this time you are creating square blocks of the same colour, which are elimated once made.
There are bonus blocks appear from time to time setting off a chain...

Lumines Live!
Review of Lumines Live! (Xbox Live Arcade) by
chugglebunny
Advantages: Great fun and easy to pick up
Disadvantages: Makes your eyes go funny after a while
...Lumines is a downloadable Tetris style arcade game available on Xbox 360 Live Arcade.
The Game
-------------
The point of the game is to place blocks that consist of 4 colour squares into blocks according to colour, once a block is made all of the same colour, it disappears. For exapmle, a block may have 3 white squares and 1 orange square. To make room, you would have to arrange them on other falling blocks to have 4 or more orange or 4 or more white.
For each disappearing block you recieve points. The game continues through various skins that change the music in the background and also the colours of the blocks. Some are a lot harder to deal with as they may be very similar colours, or colours that play with your eyesight (especially after a good game that may last hours) The game ends when the screen is full of blocks...

LUMINES: 21st Century Tetris
Review of Lumines (PSP) by
lea20
Advantages: Addictive game play, cool graphics and tunes
Disadvantages: Not many game modes, Single Skin mode can be a bit sameish
...Lumines is probably one of the titles that made the PSP. Since then there has been ports to the Xbox Live network, the mobile phone and recently the PC making it a well known puzzle game. It is very addictive and I can safely say it is the new Tetris.
Game play is simple and the interface modern, as I noticed when I first accessed the main menu. There isn't many options when it comes to game play but that is part of its appeal as it means that the developers have made the main mode, the Challenge mode, as fulfilling as possible. The idea is, as you progress on to the next level (called a skin), you unlock more content for play later in 'Single Skin mode'.
I said before that Challenge mode is the main method of game play. You start off my selecting a funny character, These range from rabbits to smiley faced cars! Once you have...

Highlighter My Life!
Review of Stabilo Boss Highlighters by
tuftie
Advantages: Last ages, Practical, Well known brand
Disadvantages: Not British
...I started using a highlighter when I did A-level History, all those years ago. I would use it to highlight key points in my notes and handouts from my tutor. This saved time when it came to revising and preparing draft essays. Stabilo is the brand that I have always stuck with, simply because they are the best, most reliable and longest lasting highlighter on the market. They are a compact size (approx 3 inches), so fit nicely in a pencil case or desk tidy and as long as you keep the cap on when your not using it, a Stabilo Boss highlighter could last over a year with no deterioration in highlighting quality. Their tapered shape also means that they are comfortable to hold and easy to use.
After leaving college, I began my career in Financial Services, and have worked in both the public and private sectors. My job involves a lot...

The King of the Stationary Cupboard!
Review of Stabilo Boss Highlighters by
elephants69food_0
Advantages: good colours, lasts for ages
Disadvantages: none
...The daddy of all highlighters, the king of all stationary, it is the all time great Stabilo Boss highlighter.
Now I cant believe that anyone wouldn't have come across these at some point in their lifetime as they seem to have been around for an age! In any office or in any business these highlighters have their place! They originate from Germany and have been around for over 35 years!
Stabilo Boss is well known and has the famous swan emblem on each pen. Now is it really any wonder that these have been seen on so many desks through out Europe! In my opinion, no other highlighter would come close. I tend to do a lot of highlighting in my job. Depicting important bits of information and it is also a good way to be able to cross through words and still be able to read them!
The shape of the pen itself is original as its...

Up in lights
Review of Stabilo Boss Highlighters by
edward_stapleton
Advantages: Reliable, refillable, available in many colours
Disadvantages: Perhaps a bit large for those little pencil-cases
...Stabilo Boss is an established manufacturer of writing implements, and is best known for highlighting devices. As I only possess one of these fine instruments, I will review the one I have: the Stabilo Boss Original.
The Stabilo Boss Original is a cult legend for stationary collectors, explaining the pen's status as the best-selling highlighter in Europe. It is available in nine flourescent colours: yellow, blue, green, red, turquoise, orange, lavender, pink and lilac. The pens are internationally renowned for their luminosity and long life. Not only do the pens last for a very long time but they are refillable, which means that they should never become inutilisable.
My personal experience tells me to recommend this product highly. The pens are so reliable and will never let you down. The feel of the pen is delightful; you want...

Highlighters
Review of Stabilo Boss Highlighters by
maynestream
Advantages: Long lasting colours
Disadvantages: Can sometime be pricey
...pen.
After taking off the lid, you see the nib of the highlighter which is shaped much like a calligraphy pen. This is so you can do thicker lines or thinner lines on demand.
I have been using this particular highlighter for at least two months, I use it regularly and it is still going strong. The colour comes out nice, consistent, and very bright. The nib is still in as good a condition - although slightly darkenned and it looks much like it may even last a few more months - even with my heavy workload!
On the back of the highlighter, it states that it is refillable. This sounds good for more economical people but there are no details as to where you would go to get it refilled.
So to conclude: These Stabilo Boss highlighter pens, for me, are the more than the best around. They last for ages and keep looking 'as good as new...

The daddy of highlighter pens!!
Review of Stabilo Boss Highlighters by
ladyboymondaytofriday
Advantages: easy to grip - long lasting - wide range of colours
Disadvantages: expensive - difficult to change cartridges
...When writing or proof reading reports at work rather than using red pen and making myself feel like a school teacher I tend to highlight areas where amendments need to be made or sections removed - to do this I use Stabilo Boss Original Highlighter pens.
The pens themselves are quite expensive to buy - normally they cost £1 each but a pack of 4 can be purchased from most office stationers for £3 and are available in a number of fluorescent colours such as yellow - pink - orange and green. All of the colours in the range are vibrant and are ideal for marking documents and reports and cannot fail to draw your attention when it comes to edits.
At just over 10cm in length and with a smooth body the pens are very lightweight and easy to grip - the nib is pointed and the 'ink' is released liberally so you won't end up with smudges...
