Guitar shop online for the technically clueless.
Review of Regent Guitars by  JonnyWigan

Advantages: Easy to use. Inviting and friendly.
Disadvantages: The press reviews section is not yet working fully

...everything and should ensure you buy the right thing if you are new to all this. ****************************************************** FOR THE MORE EXPERIENCED: The range of guitar makes and models is huge. All your usuals are here – Fender, Gibson, PRS, Ibanez, Rickenbacker, Parker, Takomine, Gretsch, Taylor, Martin, BC Rich (Let’s rock! Sorry, their guitars alway bring out that reaction in me) etc, alongside more budget targeted brands such as Stagg, Squier, G&L, Aria etc. Guitars are itemised as electric, acoustic, electro acoustic, and bass, with a left handed versions available from most brands. And it’s not just guitars, oh no. You’ve also got a huge selection of associated products from strings, straps, cases and tuners through to amplifiers, recording equipment, pedals and drum machines. All the usual suspects here as well... Read review

A treasure unearthed on Ebay
Review of Stagg LC500 Les Paul copy guitar by  JeffFromPoole

Advantages: beautiful Finish, lovely playing quality, great sounds, good VFM
Disadvantages: A little heavy, needed proper setup

...I bought this guitar from somebody who did not get on with it, bought very cheaply from Ebay. when I received it I was stunned by the look of it but not impressed by its playability. that was because it hadn't been set up properly. After a little research and a couple of hours work it now plays like a dream. the first things needed with any guitar is a new set of strings. Then the action and intonation need to be checked. once this was done I was delighted with what I had. the finish is wonderful. cherry sunburst, trapesoidle fret markers and a gorgeous inlay of a phoenix on the neck make this not only a thing of beauty but a real player's instrument as well The setup is the usual Les Paul style. Two humbuckers, two volume, two tones controls, selector switch and 3X3 tuning head. this model has gold finished... Read review

My Amazing Guitar
Review of Epiphone G-400 Custom Electric Guitar by  dbirse

Advantages: Great guitar, sounds really good, looks amazing
Disadvantages: Very top heavy

...I got this guitar as a christmas present last year and it is awsome! Its based on the Gibson SG and its looks amazing. I love my guitar and it is great. It is made of mahogany and is cherry red with a black pick guard. It feels great while holding it and playing but i must say its very top heavy. The fretboard is made of rosewood with tapazoid inlays which i think looks great. The pickups are 2 humbeckers which give a really good full sound which is great for what i like to play (lostprophets, Blink 182, Oasis, really a bit of anythin but im not into all that really heavy metal). It has 22 frets which is 1 more than my old stagg guitar. it has 3 setting for the pickups a rythm, a treble and a mix between the two of them. It has a great range of tones from very full deep sounds to a less full more treble sound. The shape... Read review

Stagg Chilli, an enema in a can!!
Review of Stagg Chilli, Classic Con Carne by  toepunt10

Advantages: Tates great, fairly cheap and cooks in minutes
Disadvantages: Can be painful the day after

...Stagg Chilli is without a doubt the single greatest thing I have ever eaten from a can. Nothing else can ever compare to the glorious taste sensation that is Stagg Chilli dynamite hot. The classic Stagg Chilli is more or less the same, but is more suited to people that fear spicy foods and don't appreciate the subtle burning sensation that hot food gives you. I would recommend both varieties, but in my honest opinion the dynamite hot is infinitely better and should only be avoided if you feel you cannot handle extreme spiciness. Eating a bowl of the dynamite hot chilli will inevitably cause your nose to run uncontrollably, will have you running back and forth to the tap and will almost certainly leave you with a sting ring the next day. But goddamn it's worth it!! My friend is a big fan of the chilli, but finds that it disagrees... Read review

Why did they call it Stagg
Review of Stagg Chilli, Classic Con Carne by  chelle2u

Advantages: Tastes nice and has less than 5% fat
Disadvantages: The thought of eating chilli that was in a tin

...Until recently the thought of eating chilli con carni that had been tinned would have totally put me off, the thought of meat being tinned isn't exactly appealing! However, my slimming world consultant and magazine recommended it! I tried it and I love it! At around 1.39 (roughly, depending where you shop) it's cheaper than making your own chilli! Each can could serve 2 as a small snack or one person for a main meal! And unlike other tinned food, it doesn't have less meat there is plenty of beef in the tin! The tin itself has very clear instructions on how to cook it On the Hob: Pour chilli into pan Heat on a medium heat for 5 - 8 mins Stirring frequently In Microwave (750w) Put chilli in microwavable bowl, cover loosely Heat on high for 2 to 3 mins Stir once Upon reading these instructions it is also clear that Stagg... Stagg Chilli ... It's Flamin Great
Review of Stagg Chilli, Classic Con Carne by  gabrielangeles

Advantages: Can be nuked
Disadvantages: Could have been hotter

...Recently I was asked if I actually eat any normal food after I wrote a fair number of ops regarding choccy bars … well actually I do and what’s more I am a total nut on certain foods namely chilli !! When it comes to food of the world Tex/Mex ranks right up there at the top and for me the hotter the better. I love hot food, I want smoke coming out of my ears and flames shooting from my mouth with every mouthful. A great chilli is one that will make me sweat which unfortunately Stagg didn’t but that doesn’t mean that that it was c**p !! Now for me being a chilli connoisseur I was a little dubious about this stuff hence the reason it sat in my cupboard for weeks on end until I got a hankering for something hot instead of the choccy bars and other c**p foods people assume on Ciao! that I eat. Now looking at the can I... Read review

epiphone? hard to tell the difference at times
Review of Epiphone Les Paul Standard Electric Guitar by  jimmijamie

Advantages: much cheaper than its gibson counterpart
Disadvantages: not quite the same as the gibson; cheap materials and build

...Epiphone are an arm of Gibson, the world famous guitar making company, reknowned for its quality and string of players who play their guitars, such as slash. epiphone guitars are made to look like their gibson counterparts, but are made with cheaper quality wood and materials, and in cheaper labour areas such as taiwan. despite this initial drawback to the epiphones, these are made cheaply in order to be sold cheaply and compete against brands such as stagg. i bought an epiphone les paul after wanting a gibson les paul but not having enough money to afford it, so reluctantly i bought the cheaper version for £300. looking at the guitar it was hard to tell the difference between it and a gibson version, apart from it having epiphone written on the headstock. the way the epiphone sounds to me is highly satisfactory for its price tag... want to be a guitar hero? but hopeless at guitar
Review of Guitar Hero 2 (PS2) by  inbetweendaysx

Advantages: Learn basics of guitar like hammer-ons etc. Great tracks
Disadvantages: Difficult in some parts, but then there are different levels.

...INFORMATION Guitar Hero II, sequel to Guitar Hero which was released back in 2005: is definitely a game that keeps you addicted. This is probably one of the best interactive play station games made, and let me tell you this - the anticipation for Guitar Hero III is killing me, I am dying to know what alterations they've made and how much better it is, and I'm sure that the rest of Guitar Hero fans anticipate its released. Red Octane (producer and creator) couldn't have come up with a better idea than this game, it certainly has been talked about all around the world, it's addictive, and lets face it, it's clever. So you can say goodbye to all your air guitars, and if you are a guitar player and you are rubbish - then pick up Guitar Hero and it certainly makes you feel like you are a Guitar God. It's great because its a game that lasts... Read review

GUITAR HEROES WANTED TO ROCK THEIR SOCKS OFF!!!
Review of Guitar Hero (PS2) by  ultrafrosty

Advantages: A little guitar!!! Some great tunes to rock to!!!
Disadvantages: So many more GREAT songs out there!!! We want them ALL!!!

...Well… here I am trying to figure out my latest review as I type. I know what the review is on so I suppose that’s a good enough start! I just need to try to get back to the keyboard as often as possible… Anyway… moving swiftly along… I’m going to review another Playstation 2 game (no PS3 on my horizon, I’m afraid - so it’s going to stay old-school and retro for the foreseeable future) that I’ve recently discovered… It is… GUITAR HERO!!! Developed by Harmonix Music Systems and published by RedOctane, Guitar Hero was released on Playstation 2 in April 2006 across Europe and has proven to be a great success with one sequel already and another on the way… but before I get to far ahead of myself, let’s cover this first installment of the Guitar Hero franchise… First things first, Guitar Hero is quite a unique game that allows...
