Some kettles boil quietly but not this one. It drowns out everything else that is going on. This is fine if you have only put the kettle on during an ad break while watching your favourite TV show. But when you are trying to watch “Richard and Judy” while boiling up some water for the vegetables, pasta or whatever you are having for dinner, the sound is very annoying. When we first got the kettle the fast boil did indeed seem to be just that, fast. However as you grow used to things you start to take it for granted. Advantages: Great looking fast boiler & reasonable cost
Disadvantages: Noisy!

...Every 24 to 30 months I have to replace my kettle, why I know not but they only seem to last a month longer than the warranty! With this in mind one of my priorities is that I dont over spend knowing it will be replaced within 2 years or so. Had to be brushed stainless steel to fit my decor & it makes it easier to keep looking new as opposed to shiny S/Steel! Efficient in boiling & easy to refill & clean as I have teenagers who are reluctant to do any of these! Also a safety feature to prevent boiling dry a common mis-use by said teens. In the easy to follow manual there is excellent customer service contact details, a postal address, email address, fax and telephone so if you should have a problem they are easily contactable. She had quite a modern kitchen, white with brushed metal handles, so I knew I wanted to get quite a modern style kettle. I started off by looking at what kettles were available and quickly decided that Stainless Steel was the way to go. There were numerous kettles available but I decided to go for a mid price jug kettle (I paid £19.99 for this one in May 2005) and from a brand I knew (and trusted), Tefal. Appearance I chose this kettle partly for its looks, it is quite elegant looking, as it name suggests! ...completely and significantly reduces the chances of being scalded. The kettle is oval shaped with a black plastic handle and rather long on off switch which sits just below the handle. The oval shape is made of brushed stainless steel which looks really good and would fit into most modern kitchens without any problems. The base which houses the cordless kettle in round with a small raised centre to which the kettle attaches and makes the electrical connections necessary for it's operation. The lid of the kettle has a click shut feel to it so that you can be sure it is shut correctly, as I said before however this does not stop boiling water coming over the top if overfilled. ...I was considering buying a stainless steel kettle but sitting on the shelf next to the one I had chosen was the Prima glass kettle. “Take me home,” it whispered seductively, “You know you find me attractive.” I did - but I wasn’t going to admit it to the kettle. “Don’t be silly” I replied “You might look nice now but you’ll look a total mess in a couple of weeks with the hard water in our area.” “But you’ll clean me more often to keep me looking good, and I’m on special offer at the moment.” I didn’t believe it for a second but recklessly gave in to the glamour. “OK I’ll give you a go but I bet you end up in the bottom of a cupboard within a few weeks.” I felt a bit cheap having given in to the wiles of a wanton kettle.
