...Every 24 to 30 months I have to replace my kettle, why I know not but they only seem to last a month longer than the warranty! With this in mind one of my priorities is that I dont over spend knowing it will be replaced within 2 years or so. Had to be brushed stainless steel to fit my decor & it makes it easier to keep looking new as opposed to shiny S/Steel! Efficient in boiling & easy to refill & clean as I have teenagers who are reluctant to do any of these! Also a safety feature to prevent boiling dry a common mis-use by said teens. Advantages: Boils quickly

Some kettles boil quietly but not this one. It drowns out everything else that is going on. This is fine if you have only put the kettle on during an ad break while watching your favourite TV show. But when you are trying to watch “Richard and Judy” while boiling up some water for the vegetables, pasta or whatever you are having for dinner, the sound is very annoying. When we first got the kettle the fast boil did indeed seem to be just that, fast. However as you grow used to things you start to take it for granted. It is like getting a new internet connection, for the first few weeks you really notice how fast it is and then it too seems to be slow... Read review

...People always look amazed when I tell them I have a Porsche, although they look a bit peeved when I tell them it is a kettle! Back in the late 90s Siemens decided to produce a new ‘designer’ kettle – and who better to get to design it than F.A. Porsche. The plan that Porsche came up with was a modern jug-kettle design in brushed stainless steel and navy blue plastic. But whilst the design is stylish, it does not loose out on functionality. The base unit is a short, dumpy cylinder in stainless steel the same diameter as the kettle, which itself stands on dumpy feet. The electrical connector to supply power to the heating element is raised up, thus preventing water reaching the electrical contacts (unless you submerge it of course!). She had quite a modern kitchen, white with brushed metal handles, so I knew I wanted to get quite a modern style kettle. I started off by looking at what kettles were available and quickly decided that Stainless Steel was the way to go. There were numerous kettles available but I decided to go for a mid price jug kettle (I paid £19.99 for this one in May 2005) and from a brand I knew (and trusted), Tefal. ...I have recently purchased a few items by this manufacturer which seems to be making a bit of an impression. Their products also seem only to be available in ASDA stores which tends to lead me towards the conclusion that it might in fact be an ASDA brand, but as of yet I have not been able to verify this. My most recent purchase was the Onn 1.7 ltr brushed stainless steel kettle. The 1.7 ltr claim can be justified by the fact that it does hold this quantity of water but it is not advisable to use the kettle whilst this full since there is a tendency for the bubbling water to overflow. This is mainly due to the fact that the thermostat which controls the heating element does take a few seconds to react to the boiling water, meaning that it bubbles for longer than perhaps it should. Filling to the 1.5 ltr mark avoids this problem... Read review

...cloth then dried with a soft cloth. My kitchen is all stainless steel and I have found that this kettle is good as resisting fingerprints more than alot of my other appliances. In the easy to follow manual there is excellent customer service contact details, a postal address, email address, fax and telephone so if you should have a problem they are easily contactable. ...This well-designed, modern-looking kettle has a brushed steel finish. It sits on a base which plugs into the mains. Although it looks quite compact, the kettle can hold over 1.5 litres. There is a handy gauge on the side that shows you how much water it contains. It tells you this in litres and millilitres, which is ok but I personally preferred the gauge on my old kettle which told you the volume in cups. Most kettles have a removable lid which you flip up to fill it with water. This kettle is different as you put the water in through the spout. I initially thought this might be a bit fiddly but the spout is wide enough for it to be fine. The spout is also well designed and pours water without any drips. Due to its being made of stainless steel rather than insulating plastic, the outside of the kettle can be quite hot... Read review

...A sexy stainless steel, colourful kettle… It has a 1.7 litre capacity, which makes a good few cups of tea! On the plus side it has a 3kw rapid boil which takes less than 30 seconds to boil 500ml perfect for a large cuppa like mine :o) The tri-lights are a great gadget giving a 3-stage illumination dependant on which function you choose to use: Standard boil - blue Keep warm/simmer – red Boil before simmer – purple The buttons that control these functions are clearly labelled, the one at the top operates the standard boil with a automatic shut off on boiling. ...After spending a considerable amount of money on a new kitchen (£15K) we purchased this sink thinking it would be a good investment, £400, and within a week the stainless steel scratched terribly. We consider the quality of this sink to be poor, and dont believe it should scratch so quickly. We wrote to Franke, who wrote back saying they couldnt even consider any complaint unless we filled in a complaint form, which would not necessarily get us any further.
