...Like all great pieces of art, on first listening Narrow Stairs makes you stop and take notice. Thirty seconds in and I'm relieved to hear that Death Cab have not resorted to pop riffs or drum patterns to push their way into the chart, rather continuing to create the brilliant alternative music that we love them for. The stand-out track has to be the rhythmic and rather brave "I Will Possess Your Heart". An inspired yet simple bassline drives the track through over 8 minutes of sheer sonic joy, including the first four and a half minutes which have no more than bass, drums and piano. It works beautifully. There are a couple of tracks (No Sunlight, Long Division) which definitely get you moving and seem perfect for alternative par-tays. ...ugly head and forming what can only be described as a fantastic plot for a movie….and this movie emphasises the fact brilliantly and almost tastefully. Brandon Adams does a fantastic job as 'Fool', the young lovable character who turns to robbery to help his family. This frightened little boy has to handle every evil thing thrown at him, and what a job he does. His scenes with the Robeson's mad are brilliant but may be upsetting for dog lovers (although no animals were hurt during this filming) The Robeson's are brilliant characters, coming across as a god loving couple who wouldn't harm a fly. Everett McGill, who plays 'dad' Robeson, acts the part to perfection as the gun toting, sadistic god loving weirdo. The Robeson's really bring the saying 'see no evil.. hear no evil.. Speak no evil' to life as The people under the stairs... Read review

...The Bear Under The Stairs. A HUGE favourite of mine; beautifully written and completely captivating. Well worth reading to children from a very young age, and continued to lower junior, because it deals with overcoming fear and apart from anything else, is a beautiful read. We discovered this story my younger son was four (way back in 1995) and for a while, it was the only book we were allowed to read at night. It really struck a chord and every night, we had to check under the stairs... how many children don't believe there are things under the stairs or under a bed? I began to wonder when I was going to be asked to leave out food. He wasn't afraid of the bear, and actually felt that he was having a hard time of things and had to be looked after. ...Imagine the scene. I'm washing up and my 20-month old little girl is playing happily with her toys. I suddenly realise that it has gone very quiet and go to check on her. She's gone ! I see that the hall door is open and think that she must be in there. She's not in the hall. She's halfway up the stairs and beams down at me and says " Hiya ! " to me. " Hiya ! " I say back, at the same time wondering how on earth she has suddenly become able to open the door and climb up the stairs. His is a scarey secret too, because his secret involves a rather grizzly brown bear who hides out during the day in the cupboard under the stairs. William has never seen the bear but he knows he is there and he worries that maybe the bear might eat little boys. So he begins a daily regime of saving his food and throwing it to the bear under the stairs, with his eyes closed and slamming the door quickly behind him 'WHAM, BANG, THUMP!' ...For less than £30 the Dirt Devil hand held mains vacuum cleaner and Tools comes in very useful. When there are stairs to be cleaned then you could do worse than to buy this little machine. A handy little vacuum cleaner that even a small child can use to clean up after themselves. I bought this to help with the cleaning of stairs, it has been an excellent investment. To clean the stairs this can be plugged in at the bottom and then reach the top and even clean the landing. The tools come in very useful when there is an awkward corner. My stairs have never looked as clean before and it is a lot easier than using a standard vacuum cleaner and balancing it on the stairs. The children, with this easily clean up small spills in the house as it is not to big and easy for them to direct. If the car needs a valet this is the tool... Read review

...The people under the stairs is a movie about a young boy who is nicknamed fool. He lives in a large city and at the beginning of the movie finds that he and his family have been evicted from their apartment. A burglary is planned for the residence of the old landlords as they are rumoured to be very wealthy. Fool agrees to take part in the robbery but begins to hear rumours about his ex-landlords. He is told that they are slowly becoming insane with every generation. Eventually the time for the robbery comes. the first guy goes in pretending to be a worker but never comes out again. Being brave the other two guys go in to find out what has happened. they are shocked with how old and morbid the house is. Unfortunately her friend Jin-sung doesn't return her feelings; moreover, she is massively jealous of her friend's success as a ballerina, particularly as it seems certain So-hee will win a scholarship. So-hee realises that something is wrong with her friend and confronts her, they argue and Jin-sung accidentally pushes her down the stairs. So-hee loses the use of her legs as a result and commits suicide. Another girl from the school, Hae-ju, misses So-hee, who was the only person to have any time for her.
